Middle finger flick and it's right in your hand at the choil. Fastest opening Spyderco that I have. And at that point, easy to close with plenty of room to access the lock. Green scales, black blade, when open hides well I'm my XL hand.
Thanks for your review mate.i have the tenacious and would not swop for either of the two new knives since when did there prices become budget or maybe I am getting tight.atb paddy
I have the Efficient and it came out of the box sharp and perfectly tuned. I love it. I also have the Ruike P801 and like it a lot except for the lack of grip on the polished stainless scales. I'm in the process of applying some gun grip tape on the show side scale. I know, it ruins the beautiful look of the stainless scale but I'll be able to hold onto the knife "in the vasiline factory".
Thanks for the review. I'm leaning towards getting one just because I've always liked Spyderco knives, but I don't want to spend much money. This knife is readily available near me for under $40 so perhaps the price has come down significantly. I got to play with one at the local knife shop recently and I thought it felt perfect in my hand with an absolutely smooth opening and closing action, but everyone has their own preferences for sure. Did you happen to take the knife apart? Can the back spacer be removed to save weight or do the scale screws thread directly into it? I have yet to find a knife I truly love without some customization, so I'll probably end up making some custom scales for this one (and will be sure to shape that edge that catches your thumb on opening appropriately) and sticking a deep pocket clip on it. I'll probably throw some serrations on the rear 1/3 of the blade as well.
@@danieloshea3326 thats a really douchebag way to respond to a comment. Idgaf how long you've collected them or if you worked there. Keep opening your knives slow as fuck and inconveniently dickwad
Yeah. Unexciting but competent. I have a Byrd Crow 2. Very similar to the efficient. It fits my hand well, is sturdy enough. The blade stock is thicker than need be, but the full flat grind leaves it thin enough behind the edge to work fine. The steel is BD1. It’s competent and reliable.
great reviews! this is an attractive knife for sure, but i'll take the dragonfly every time. i never use anything but a razor knife (utility knife) to cut up cardboard--just can't see using my edc stuff for this chore.
CedricAda Gear and Outdoors that's my pick for this year as best value knife for regular dudes that need a nice knife. when the Raven 2 came out last year I was disappointed that it had better steel then the tenacious. Now it fixed and no finger choil thank God hahha
I hated the blocky chunky look since i first saw it. Nice review. Also looks lije it wouldn't fit right in my hand. Delica is definitely a better blade.
Absolute truth--outside of occasionally cutting open a package or envelope, 90% of knife "usage" is just playing with it. Great review--this knife was under consideration for purchase, but no longer.

The hole is really for your middle finger to flick open. Opens as fast as anything that way

You are right in that its not exciting, but I think its a good working knife

Got both efficient and insistent love both feels good in my hands but I have small hands and work them like magic.
Teflon washers?
+Nick Shabazz one is phosphor, one is nylon! weird, but pretty smooth in a bronzey way rather than jerky smoothness nylon only or teflon does
any thought on the steel will cutjacks pete? d2 as standard
gavinCZ they look great, i like that brand
I like the look of the spyderco Polestar,
hi do you know when blades of oz re stock thanks peet
Im not sure sorry!
Thanks
I would bet that Ruke is make by Sanrenmu (Real Steel). You could have had three 910 models for the price of the Efficient.

Holy xBeat getting to it! Have closed the post, just need to filter the 'story' and download the comment chooser plugin thing
CedricAda Gear and Outdoors ok I hope I get lucky
Great Review ! Compare To The Ganzo With 440C Steel .
Looks like a poor man's native 5
My thoughts exactly
I hated the blocky chunky look since i first saw it. Nice review. Also looks lije it wouldn't fit right in my hand. Delica is definitely a better blade.
I like the design
overall p like it but at 65. the steel should be better
I'm not a huge fan of choils on folders
65$ for 8cr13mov is extremly abusive...
Spyderco tax.
Fanboys will say "it's worth it!" but anyone else would say meh.
i like the Cat ,better
It's efficient in that it doesn't waste your emotional energy.

Awful diction 🤦♂️
I could barely understand what you were saying.
maybe the problem is with your listenin, rather than my speaking?
