I love the decoration! But a little slime hutch tip: you can put paths inside where the slimes are, and the eggs will only spawn outside the fences! This means you won’t have to go inside to collect eggs!!

@@aira1900 I made the mistake of hatching 3 eggs and then going in, after the fact, to put a sprinkler and fence/flooring in. They kept killing me! I had to kill them so I could finish my setup. So I hope you didn’t do what I did!
I had my burglar ring equipped while fighting slimes on Ginger Island and got 2 tiger slime eggs. And I got both a male and a female so they've filled my whole hutch with tiger slimes. :)
If you put flooring in the area where the slimes are in your hutch and remove the flooring you've placed in the safe entry area then the slime balls will only spawn in the safe area and you won't have to go into the area with the slimes ever again
I decorate my hutch, coops, and barns with potted tea trees, lol. The poor pigs barely have room to breathe. Krobus sells a statue that you can place in your coops and hutch to keep the witch away. I'm playing around with hoppers, and I'm starting to like them if just for inventory management. It's nice to just dump all my garbage into a hopper feeding a recycler, an inventory full of lures into a deconstructor, coffee beans into a keg, etc. I'm building them in rows in a shed, and just run back and forth collecting finished items.

This could have changed, but there used to be a "population control" feature build into the game, one in a while slimes will de-spawn if they are not inside a slime hutch. I remember trying to make a all smile farm, and use all my land for slime breeding, like you did in the quarry, but like i said that turned out not to be possible, that was back in 1.0 though, so a lot has change in the game since.
If you get the wicked statue your slimes won't turn black. If you put crystal tiles on the ground the slimes won't produce in that area. You can as wi get a tiger slime from a fish pond ,I forget which fish.
If you kill 1000 slimes you get the Slime Charmer ring at the Guild, making you invurnerable to slime attacks while wearing it. No more damage from slimes 😊
Hey, I have been playing SV for 2 weeks now with my gf and we bought the Slime hutch. We received 1 slime egg per person but 1 incubator only. So my gf proceeded and put her slime egg into the incubator at the start of Winter and no slime has hatched since... Its spring now. At least 10-20 days have passed... So I tried to troubleshoot that when i was playing alone and tried to put my own egg into the slime incubator that had a sprite of an incubating slime incubator, but now it has turned into a slime egg press? Any idea? I cant break the incubator or anything.
Ezlilyy you may want to know slime balls can't spawn on flooring so your safe zone should have none and the slime area should have it. Also the slimes don't need to be able to access the water, it just has to be there. This means your slimes can be in a tiny area.
I have NEVER had a Slime egg drop inside the caves ever, ever drop a slime egg and I am just about done with year 2. Is it really THAT rare? Is it possible I am accidently destroying it when hitting the slime to kill it?
I dont use fences..... yep they are suck.... Instead i use seasonal decor/plant or haybell (they dont get destroyed) Btw im a mobile player And at 1.4 you cant place furniture outside so i use the seasonal decor/plant or haybell decoration as a fence :)
From what I gather you can breed them to get the slime balls which produces more slime which can be used for crafting the machine that makes truffle oil. So if you’re wanting a truffle empire the machines will be needed. They take a lot of slime to make just one machine. Also if you ranch the slims by colors. Each color produces a certain good. Like white produces diamonds, purple iridium, orange copper and so on. So if you can breed a lot and then slay them it drops all those goods. Though it depends on your goals if it’s “worth” doing that… once again from what I gather. I myself just started researching it for my own truffle empire lol.
@@feleciabenton9822 That’s the very reason I am thinking of starting a slime hutch, I have gone the Artisan route making truffle oil, mayo, wine etc. I struggle to find enough slimes to kill in the mine to get enough slime to craft oil makers. That said I’m not strong enough to go to Skull cavern yet so there may be more in there.
@@NannyOggins Despite my grown love for skull cavern runs, I still had the slime shortage problem but ever since I started having a slime hutch, I was able to have a shed full of truffle machines! I now also have stacks of slime on my chest lol. Will definitely recommend building one soon! 😊
I hope you have long figured this out but for those who have the same problem, you should place it on the second or third slot, either from the top or from the bottom! 😊 This works in accordance to the 24 adjacent tiles that an iridium sprinkler covers.

only slimes in the slime hutch produce slime balls, no other area allows that. so raising slimes outside is just for aesthetics lmao

If the slimes aren’t in the slime hutch they don’t need water for some reason but they should as a trough that you can place anywhere

The iridium sprinkler doesn't water them at all. I think theres sumn wrong with it😭
