  • When you just start a brand new playthrough in stardew valley creating a beautiful farm is usually the last thing on your mind, and it really can be a daunting task because your farm is actually really large. Putting a coherent design together that just makes sense takes quite a bit of practice and patience. In this video, I will give you some tips and tricks that I have learned to help guide you onto making a more beautiful farm design.

    Pst here are tips for making your farm prettier.
    Use decorative hay and Barrels near barns or coops to give it a cleaner aesthetic.
    You can plant Fibre seeds just for the year long aesthetic. You can get creative with this
    Plant tea bushes and fruit trees and let them fully grow on your desired spot then plant fibre seeds around them to create interesting aesthetics. You can also experiment.
    Make use of house plant furniture. This includes the trees you can get from the cinema crane game.
    Try make use of asymmetry in designs when you can to help make it feel less linear or perfect and gives it depth.

      Also if you want to hide lightning rods because they dont fit your aesthetic but need them for batteries and prevention of lightning, you can put them behind buildings!

    @crybuttry8588 2 ปีที่แล้ว +112

    You moved the greenhouse to the south exit and put a teleport there! It's so clever, I'll definitely use it in the future!
    My favorite technique of decorating is to surround a few cages with a fence, plant grass and a toy (or statue) inside. It always looks cute. Also, different types of stone decks are well considered among themselves. For example, a cobblestone path and bric flor, or cobblestone path and stepping ston path. The first option looks like a broken road, the second option is good for a forest path.

  • @spifariffic
    @spifariffic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

    I just started redecorating my farm recently too! Thanks for sharing your strategies.
    Here are some of my decorating ideas:
    I like to mix up the stepping stone path, crystal cobblestone path and cobblestone path together to make more organic-looking pathways.
    Placing stepping stones will make a random version, you can break and replace repeatedly until you get the desired version.
    Turning certain furniture (like the tree chairs) can create some interesting decorations.
    If I'm not mistaken, the direction you face when you plant a tree seed should determine which way it faces when it grows - useful if you want maple tree archways where the trunks are symmetrical. (I just noticed oak seeds always face the way I face when I plant them, waiting for all my trees to grow to see if I'm right about this.)
    Placing potted plants and certain table decorations (like the purple gem) outside sheds make them look a little cozier.
    Trees can act as fences that don't degrade to keep your animals more contained when you don't have the golden clock. (I particularly like mushroom trees for this, but that's much harder to set up.)

    Keeping all the crop areas in separate squares like that is also super helpful for knowing how many seeds you need to buy at a glance.

    I recently started a new save with the four corners farm and I'm loving it, a corner for mining and fishing, one for crops, one for animals, and another one for tapping and forest in general.
    All of my empty tiles have grass, and it makes it very pretty, I use stone paths that are one tile wide, I use the same style used in the city, so that it looks consistent.
    Oh, and I plant the grass before the fences and putting the lamps and chests around, so that it looks like the item is partially hidden by overgrown grass. (I haven't been through winter, yet, so I don't know how the grass will fare.)

    I never thought I would enjoy it before as the main character was a female but I actually got addicted playing it cause it's so good.
    I don't quite remember if you can farm in homework salesman but I'm sure the mining exploring in cave, foraging , befriending the villagers, different weathers,fighting slimes and other monsters, etc are so similar to stardew valley oh and you can craft different equipments too. I forgot about being able to paint the buildings - I'll have to try that. What I did start doing just recently was sort of like making my own self-imposed 'zoning laws.' I required myself to build fences and paths around each section of my farm, which normally I was too lazy to do, because you can live without them. I would usually only build a path around all my trees that I had tappers on, so that they wouldn't fill up with seedlings and make it so I couldn't walk through there. So I would make crisscrossed paths and put trees in all the spaces. But other than that, I didn't even bother to put fences around my barns. I was letting the animals roam free, and not bothering too much if sometimes I didn't get to pet them on a particular day because I couldn't find them all. So I have made it easier for myself by putting up these fences, but also, it just makes it easier for me to quickly look at the farm, and see what each area is doing. Each section is dedicated to a specific purpose, and I can quickly see, by looking, that I need to add something for another purpose. My farms were sloppy and confusing and disorganized without the fences and paths defining the areas for each purpose.

      @@d.d.ucheabba5461 sorry for the late reply, as for tips though here's a few:
      Prioritize upgrading the watering can and alternate on buying as many low then high cost crops as possible at the same time for uniform harvest and to incrementally expand you're farm, think by fall of first year when I started playing I was tending to 500 crops at once with a basic water can 😅
      Save all gold and basic quality crop and sell silvers for seeds or upgrade funds, the rest are good for gifts and wine making which goes to the next point
      Build as many tappers as you can in the first 2 years, try to keep them in the same rotation, I stuck with 40 tappers total for oak resin, it'll end up being the limiting factor but barrels triple the value of crops in as long as a week or as short as a few days so early tappers are key
      For buildings I used 8 big sheds, a coop/barn/mill/and silo, a single big shed can comfortably store 122 kegs so can build em as needed
      But yeah, wine/juice from cauliflowers/melon/pumpkins sell great as either silver crops or artisan goods but make sure to get the farming level upgrades related to those for the most profit

      The Riverland farm really isn't that hard to make look beautiful. Focus on proportions. Little islands= smaller objects/buildings. Bigger islands= bigger buildings, crops, etc. You will also have to prioritize what features you want on your farm. I know lots of people like to have a tree farming area for wood. There's not lots of space for that here.

I need help moving items on my farm like the furnace and chest and other things. Any help is appreciated from anyone. Thank you!

    Am I the only one who thinks efficiently planting many crops and sprinklers is more important than having cute benches around? I mean yeah, it's super cute but you can achieve that with mods which change all the textures. Although I use paths and fences and stuff on my farm too, it is build up much more efficient because of the many crops I grow. Other than on your farm displayed. I don't want to judge your farm layout. It's very pretty, tho the little number of crops you grow would really be too little for me (and for others too I guess?)

      Tbf you only really care about designing farm when you have enough money and resources lol. At that time there will be nothing for you to do except putting stuffs on the farm.

      I am also trying to decorate my riverland farm, you can find a lot of inspiration on stardew valley subreddits and also on pinterest, I would just tell you not to worry too much about symmetry, it is difficult to achieve in this layout, but the difficulty involved makes you get more creative when decorating. My main farm is a riverland farm. I'm towards the end of year 8. My tip would be to follow the shape of each individual island. Don't try to put something big on the smallest area. It's important to make use of sheds because it gives you that "extra" space to have your money makers and machines. Otherwise, most of these tips hold up.
