Hello Mary - thank you for your comment. We address the background fabric and how different ones behave at 00:20:12 Watch that section again. I suggest a nice linen or 100% wool felt to start.
Hello Priyanka, follow the same steps as used in this video. You might get this book: amzn.to/32EWj7Y by Dani Ives. She uses our wool and teaches in depth how to needle felt realistic pictures in wool.
It is regular paper...the same kind you use in an inkjet printer, or copy machine. Just plain, white paper. It is the pen that is special. We have a video for the transfer here... th-cam.com/video/mIree5NBY_E/w-d-xo.html
yes...BUT...expect it to not be "as receptive" to receiving the needle AND in most cases it is thinner and the surface area shrinks as you apply dense amounts of wool (as with the eyes)...and as a result, your drawing shifts = gets smaller = changes proportions. We tested, and the 100% wool 1mm is better. Even linen fabric is better.
I make felted animals but very interested in animal portraits. Thank you for the information and supplies!
