- Since I've been collecting games for several years I've been no stranger to waiting, browsing, and checking out multiple sites for the right deal on games I'm looking for. I also love importing games, especially if I can get a better deal! With modern consoles not having to deal with region lockouts on physical titles, the process of playing an import is painless these days. With so many domestic and international businesses available specializing in importing video games, the last place I would expect to not only find legitimate games, but to get an even better deal would be AliExpress. However, seeing is believing, and I couldn't believe the prices until I saw them. Depending on which games you're interested in along with which console they might be on, AliExpress could be a great destination for your import needs!

It is CRAZY to me that Nintendo bans people based off of cart IDs, like if someone gets scammed, they get the double whammy :c
For sure, although I'm not sure how often cert bans per cart have been? I've mostly heard of users having their consoles banned.

Before you ask, yes. I met quite a few people so scared of this they only buy digital.
It is amazing how we don't have to deal with region locked games anymore. I don't know if I would buy games from alixpress. I brought games from play asia through. I'm just one just to wait if it is released in my region. It just eliminates jumping through extra hoops.
The death of region locking was probably my favorite standardization from last generation, a bit of a shame it hasn't been talked about all too much.

Good to know, I took a brief look for a couple of games that I wanted to pickup and their price was in line with what I could get here but I'll jeep an eye in it hoping for clearence across the board with the announcement of the Switch 2
We'll just wait and see! I know the prices even on the games I got seem to fluxuate depending on the seller on AliExpress.
I don't mind games from other regions so long as they match the TV frequency (as all modern games do). Also keep in mind censorship varies by region, so if you mind how the game is presented, you may want to research that as well
I wouldn't mind repros either so long as they declared repros AND are reasonably priced

I remember back in 2022 buying Super Mario 3D All Stars almost HALF the price, it's insane, it's weird how these games are legit when again, usually the games are knock off of games of older console haha, just recently picked up Pikmin 1+2 and Skyward Sword HD for half the price too
Definitely would have never expected to pick up legitimate games for much cheaper than other places on AliExpress, but here we are!
Gamers HQ had a used copy of Super Mario RPG so I grabbed it up.
I think it is actually better than the SNES version. And I did pay more used then you paid for the import.

Yeah mostly the stuff I get form aliexpress has been fine. I bought some xbox 360 dvd lasers and only half of them worked. They all got refunded which was nice. First time I've had to use their return service.
Coincidentally i'm currently playing pikmin 2 on the gamecube for the first time, more fun than I ever thought it was

I bought resident evil 6 for the ps3. It's a Chinese version and resident evil operation racoon city. And silent hill down pour. At the time these wearnt relised in my country. I got them 5 weeks before in the shops here. Saved €20 each on each game.
That was nice not having to worry about region coding on the PS3, which country was this?
@@MrMario2011 The ps3 is bought in Ireland the games I bought are region 1 2 and 3. 2 and 3 are pal games but region 1 is USA Canada north America. The game plays on a pal system
Its incredibly rare, but there have been a few isolated cases of people receiving Chinese imports. (Not Hong Kong) Of this happens at least on stock switches, its unplayable

After the MIG SWITCH, ive been really scared of buying switch games on Ali. They were always way cheaper than buying locally and never had any issues, so it's a damn shame Nintendo chose to ban people based on cart id
I feel like those are separate issues unless you're buying used games online?
@@MrMario2011 It's very easy to repackage a used game and resell it online these days... It may not be happening now, but if the switch 2 is backwards compatible the market is gonna flood with "new" switch 1 games for sure. You buy a cart for 10 bucks, package it and sell it for 35 and it's all good

@@MrMario2011 People are getting banned from "resealed" copies already, hence why this can be a problem. Anyone can repackage a used game like that nowadays
@@Dan-su7bp Can vouch that it's real, my work colleague bought one. It's super sketchy for the price and bugs out all the time but he didnt get banned yet from playing his physical cart backups
Meanwhile here (Brazil) when we try to import something from them since last year we have to pay about for 60% + of the OG price of fees plus the send taxes... and wait 2 or more months for the delivery post office shit service.. whenn ofc.. they delivery! Most of these of stuff are stolen internally.
Would be cheaper if I decide to travel to US and buy myself.. 😢 end of rant. 😅

The sellers I've bought from seem to run on a system where they have the game game but from different regions, so they'll just send you whatever they might have on hand. That's why one of the games was Japanese and the other is from Hong Kong.
