Regarding not wanting to be told what to do: I think of it this way: What does the person desire to do and to have with you? That is how it's going to be. Requests and demands really are no different when it comes down to what a person actually wants and needs (which is what intrinsically motivates a person).
I want to be with someone who is intrinsically-motivated in a relationship. I want someone who *wants* to call me every day. I do not want someone who I have to request to call me every day. I don't want a relationship full of requests (which seems a lot like jumping through hoops, trying to impress, and even sometimes trying to hook the person in/manipulation).
It took years to learn that my ex partner didn't actually want the things I wanted--all the while, I thought we had those same needs. Now I know to see what the other person is naturally-drawn to do. That will determine if we are a match or not.
I understand that some people might want to call every day but are concerned with being smothering or overwhelming. This should be relatively easy to figure out based on the person's other actions and choices; and it should be discussed without pressure or leading questions (in order to get truthful answers).

There were definitely abusive teachers.
I had a grade 4 english teacher call me a " child of the devil" for being left- handed.
Inappropriately sermonized her religious beliefs in public school. Bullied kids in her class. Corporal punishment was the norm in those days.
Parents of the bullied kids, including my mother, had a meeting with the principal regarding her misconduct. The result was an earlier "retirement" in lieu of being terminated.
Teachers are more carefully monitored these days.
They're unionized employees in public schools. 🇨🇦
My last siuationship he said he stayed in marriage too long so after way he treated me i think he may have been bitter
When i ended it i told him i hope he changes the way he treats innocent women who are good to him and that i know people only change if they want to.

This is for Angie. I would definitely ask him what factors did HE contribute to the ending of those 4 relationships. 2. What did he learn about himself with each breakup. 3. What work has he done and what work is he still doing to become the best person for his next relationship. These are some of the ?’s we should ask after a few weeks of getting to know someone. if you think about it, though, the opposite may be true. It may be men, afterall, that fall in love between the ears. Bc we are told here that men make rational decisions about commitment.

Unfortunately, men are trained visually from a young age what to like via pornography, movies, etc. Women much less so-- for example, romance novels are not graphic but more imaginative. So it's fair to say that men are conditioned to respond to specific stimuli in a robotic & predictable way. Women, on the other hand, not so much.
@@JonathonAslay both are in the spectrum. Men's attraction is conditioned by porn beginning in boyhood. It's ingrained & robotic. Women read romance novels and they are not graphic. They make use of imagination. Women are more varied in response as a result.

I believe it's the step after trauma and that is resentment we hold after the event, regardless of our age. We must let go of the resentment that lingers which hides itself very well, that needs to be released.
