Years ago I realized it was futile to doubt your decisions. I learned to 'trust the process'. As is the norm for Ashley and Doug this room was stunning - true perfection. No contractor would’ve done the job as well as you guys did. You share your experience with the quality of products, tools and materials, that helps me when looking for replacement windows or a new tool. You are so patient and loving with your children. I would have never thought white but I agree it looks fantastic. I am so happy seeing Maverick learning the trade. I used to make things to sell and my children helped me learning how to do most anything. Now they are entrepreneurs and not afraid to accomplish anything.

The freebee magnetic letters have found a home! The Laundry Lounge never disappoints in multitasking. The dining room walls look so warm in the sunshine. I really love the stain color. The white trim is a lovely contrast. Once the table is in place, it is going to be one of the best rooms in the house. Lots of windows for light and cross breezes and a lovely view of the lush greenery. Things are humming at the house. One thing about houses that are renovated top to bottom is that, often, every room looks the same. Same wall color, same flooring, etc., which makes it feel more like a showplace than a home. While you have carried a theme through the house (e.g., egg and dart, brass fixtures, etc...), every room has its unique quirks. It makes the entire house look lived in (not in a bad way) and makes it feel very homey. And thank you for an awesome video, as always.

For the age and style house it makes sense that they put the kitchen in the back. In the South they used to put kitchens towards the back of a house in order to keep any heat generated from cooking out of the rest of the home. If they had a window AC unit it's more efficient not having to compete with kitchen heat.

I was afraid it was going to be copper or cloth shade but wow was I ever so happy it's gorgeous, perfect size. Ashly, you are a very blessed woman to have found a man like him. Doug reminds me so much of my late dad. Doug is blessed to have found you. A love story that has layers of colors on the Canvas of life. Not many children have two parents in a healthy relationship and who are both so talented , yet humble. Teaching a work ethic and how to recreate something to be useful and beautiful is lovely to see.
I love it. I especially like the stain over paint with the trim. It's much more in keeping with the rest of the wood, and helps it flow from one colour to another. A dining room is a much underutilised space in most homes, yet I have some of my fondest memories sitting at the dining table just talking, joking, and enjoying the company of family and friends. One of the advantages of living in Florida is that you can work outside in November in short sleeve shirts. The living room looks great. Staining the wood softens the color and gives it more complexity. Your choice for the vertical trim is excellent.

I am sure there were time where you thought it would never come together, but it is. Hopefully once you get the house completed you will be able to either build or purchase a storage building/workshop for all your tools and machinery to make things.

It may be a little work, but your attic space off the hall would hold those mattresses, I bet. I think you put plywood sheets down on it, right? Not sure about the boxes and what's in them. The loft storage area already has so much stuff in it. For now the best place to put the mattresses will just have to be the bus :)

Love how the room is coming along. Looks great. The floor and windows give it an updated modern look and the walls/ceiling/trim keep the character of an older home. Can't do much better than that.
