I purchased one from my Honda dealer, Certified Used Honda, and it is pretty much like the one in this video, minus navigation. And yes, I am quite happy with it. I do wish it had more power, but realistically, for 95% of normal driving, it does just fine.
As for the new current Civic, I actually prefer the looks of mine over the new model, both interior and exterior. Rather than the basic typical dash design, with minor differences, one thing I always liked about this generation is the two tier dash. I was sad that Honda did away with it. I like how much more visible things are with the design, and the small screen up there is nice for the functions it provides.
Anyway, all this to say, I am glad I bought it. :-)
I love how "detailed" you are in reviewing the back seat. However, what is continually missed by ALL you tube reviwers, is making mention or even showing the OEM Subwoofer. I know some EX'S come with a subwoofers as they have the 7 speaker premium audio system, same thing in the Accord Ex.
tahjo7 my Exl 2014 Civic only has 6 speakers. No included subwoofer. I will say, the Kia optima has a great sound system!
Why did they think adding a cvt would be an improvement? 3 more mpg is not worth the maintenance.
I bought my 2014 Civic new, and still own it. It has 150k and have done zero maintenance to the transmission. No issues.

Wha--no mention of the Lane Watch camera, heated front seats, 8-way powered driver adjustment in the EX-L trim? Nothing about the ride quality, cabin noise, or how the 17-in alloys grip? Nothing about how Honda's CVT is more responsive with lower gearing/torque than some others like Nissan's?
gunm808 Check out my review of last year's model --- there are only MINOR changes to this year's vehicle. If you want every standard feature on the EX-L, you'll have to check out Honda's website. I'm not a salesperson... oh, I did mention the Lane Watch Camera :-)
The infotainment isn't exactly a minor update though. Also, the CVT is a pretty major change in the powertrain. '14 is a little more than minor updates.
I have been averaging, 320. Shouldn't I be get closer to 400 to the tank? Yes i know its how i drive (like a grandpa btw). Have you heard anyone get close to 400?

if your looking at this car, get the 2013 it is the last year with the standard automatic
There is no available 5AT for the 2014 Civic at any trim level. The CVT replaced it. 5MT is the only other transmission offered.

I have this very car. Same year and color. Yeah, it doesn't have a lot of power. It's okay, but would like more power. As for the radio, I always use the volume on the steering wheel so no problem with no actual knob.

Why have a back window when you have so many headrest on the back seat I agree there should be a volume knob for the radio,it's a distraction,the rear camera is nice to have but it can be a false sense of safety when backing up I like looking back out the rear window so I took off all the rear headrest for now might as well made the rear seat a foot taller.

I will never buy a Honda car again. Owned a 2008 civic si after 3+ years the 2 gear went out, the paint on the roof started to fade.
Its as if the new Hondas are like the old Kias and the new Kias are like the good old Hondas. What the hell is happening with Honda and Toyota? If they keep it up, Hyundai & Kia are going to beat them in sales.

Just look at all the civics on the street you will see what I'm talking about. Iv seen a lot of these car with faded roofs. And of course I washed and waxed my car.

Both my kids own Civic's and the cars still look new. They only do regular the maintenance and cleanings....No rice or add ons, just nice cars.
On the SI, the second gear stated showing problems, but was solved with a routine trans oil service.....the car also started showing some crowfeet on the hood, to which was a Honda recall...and was repainted and looks great!
The EX, to date has never experienced any issues....other than a sun visor recall.
I have a Toyota 4Runner that's a great truck, but it's had some electronic bogeymen that needed attention......and the dealer took care of them as a warranty item.
All brands have their own issues and the more advanced cars become, the more issue they're gonna have.....for instance, I also own a Honda S2000.....these are grassroots type of cars......there's not tech in them, so very little to go wrong.....Not an everyday type of ride but, what they offer is pure driving pleasure.....
Maybe the Honda's not for you.....but, if you're looking for flawless.....you'll be hard pressed to find it.
My 2008 Civic SI looks like new... gears are fine and paint is good, fkuking 0 issues whatsoever, its my daily work horse and outlasted my fucking garbage bmw 330 which i had only 50k miles on... Now the SI has 120k miles AND still 0 issues, not even a damn light bulb went out!! Not sure what happen to yours, but that doesnt sound right... I park it under the sun daily and im in CA.... you parked yours in Sahara and drift it like a AE86?

CVTs are excellent when paired with turbocharged cars, where they have a flat torque curve to work off of.

Native722 they are all the same in my opinion. 2014 and up have the same look interior wise.

I have a 2012 sedan, there is a dial for the radio control.. but I only use the steering wheel button. However, I have 40k miles on mine and at about 36.5k (just in time for warranty to expire :( ) the steering wheel button only works about half the time. I thought it was a loose wire or something, but when this happens the dial still works, however it doesn't show the visual indicator on the imid screen (it normally shows it, just not when the steering wheel button is acting funny and you have to use the dial) if that makes sense.. so that means it's something weird going on with the whole radio. Oh well, the car is leased..so next year it will be gone for something a little more comfortable. Besides that, I haven't really had any problems except I've went through 5 tire sensors....
I'm stuck with a 2012 civic Honda, horses power suck, and it isn't very roomy. I bum on the ceiling all the time.

I own a 2010 civic and i'm surprised that honda call this civic "new" apart from some exterior differences and the new dashboard. It is pretty much the same. They haven't even change the engine. Still a 1.8L 140hp (or so, i think that it is from the 2007 civic
