. . . Don't believe the hype! ---->>>> As long as people drink milk, eat steaks, brisket, ribs and ice cream, there will never be a day when you don't "see" a cattle drive. (Depending on what part of the state you reside in.) **NOTE: Even if done only for sport and spectators, cattle drives are apart of Texas' fabric. 🇨🇱 ❤️
Really praying the cattle keeps going wish people could learn to stop and smell the rose's something many have forgotten all about now days Such a beautiful sight to see cattle herders doing their thing GOD BLESS TEXAS AND OUR COWBOYS 🙏
i was there 93 94 95 beach trip ... i was young and wanted to b nothing but a cowboy! saw sum folks i new but they are gone now ! Rest in piece BIG JACK , BOB GROSEY ,and a Few others whose name elude me. i wll miss u all
Loved this video! My daddy was flown down from Dallas to Matagorda island by Toddie Lee Wynn. Owner of Star Brand cattle co. Ive never seen pictures but this helped to invision what he must have done.
Maybe 1 or 2x a year, I think the people who don't like it can make changes for those days. You don't want to stress the animals and having to truck them would be a huge stress and cost on the farmers and cows. I've never been blessed with seeing a cattle drive living in NYC but if I chose to move to an area where there are traditions like that I would plan ahead and leave a day earlier or just be late, cuz that is pure beauty watching the cows be herded. #keepcattledrives, #savetraditions, #cowboysandtheirherds
I had a cowboy head a herd into the water of the Inter-coastal waterway a hundred yards ahead of my boat, and hold up his hand for me to stop. The problem was, I was in a push boat pushing 4 loaded barges, and it took over a half mile to stop. The cows got between the barges, and cows were coming out from between those barges for the next several miles, mooing all the while. I had to keep the propellor turning to have steerage, but I reduced it to minimum, to avoid making too much hamburger. The last I saw of that cowboy, he had thrown his hat down in the water, was shaking his fist, and using some downright uncivil language.
Damn, I love Texas! 4th generation native. I hope I never see the day, we cant have a cattle drive., May God bless Texas!

Holy Cow... I seen Bob Phillips grab a rope and help tow a calf to shore in distress. I seen it all now.
