The creek with no name should be named 'Wilson Creek' after the family that has lived there for generations. What a beautiful man, the kind I want. I am so blessed to have watched your video (2019 June), thank you for sharing an amazing story with so many. I love cattle drives, the old way was hard work but better for mankind and the environment. I love love love this video and this man's heart. I too have my grandparents things and know his heart.

It was heartwarming to see the love of tradition and the memories associated with his Dad and Grandad. Handled with all the respect and sensitivity it called for. Wonderfully done.

I enjoyed watching this cattle drive so much. I’m 65 and would of loved to have rode with these cowboys. The longhorns are a reminder of history, these cattle survived harsh territory and living conditions. Thank you for sharing a part of your life. I will always love the true cowboy.

Thanks for such a great Texas story. Mr. Weldon Wilson has such pride in his Longhorns as he should have. Really made me think of my cousins in Bandera County. I used to visit there as a child. Proud to be Texan, and a Longhorn cattle drive reminded me why. Texas Country Reporter was always on Sunday mornings in San Antonio. Thanks all the way around.

Oh my Heavens. I had tears going on and a lump in my throat as I watched Mr. Weldon Wilson talking about his family and his ranch. So wonderful to see someone taking so much pride in what they do and how important life growing up ranching has been to him. I'm right there with him on keeping memories flowing of the past as those were the good old days even there were bad days you had to get through, but with the Good Lord a willing and if the creek didn't rise He would get anyone through. Would love to meet Mr. Weldon Wilson to hear his stories. Must be great to just being out in the country. You keep on keeping on Mr. Wilson and keep going in high on those cattle drives. We live in Okeechobee, Florida a little cow town that is growing too fast. Miss the way it use to be. Take care and blessed be. (-: Shirley Wildes & Family

It's important not to forget the past, and to honor the memories of the ones who are gone. Those cowboys may have snow on the roof but they still have a little spring in their step. I for one would love to see a cattle drive in person, and I most likely never will in my lifetime.

I’m 67 years old living in eastern central Texas. I too am living on and ranching ranch land that my dad and granddad farmed and ranched. I grew up here and have so many memories of my dad and granddad working cattle on horseback. I can very well understand the tears in this mans eyes and the emotions. We’re a dwindling bread. Good story!

Being able to see this cattle drive in person is now #1 on my bucket list. The only thing that will make this cattle drive absolutely perfect is if Mr. Wilson moves these longhorns when the wildflowers are in bloom...bluebonnets, longhorns, & wooden fences doesn't get more Texas than that.

Maybe one day I can but the one to carry on after me will not be blood related. None of my blood deserve it. Neither of my children hold family sacred or traditions sacred. Interesting story. We have ranching tradition in California, too, but these days it is hard to find. People tend to forget where their dinner comes from when they can go to a big grocery store and buy meat in a plastic package. Tradition counts for a lot, whether people realize it. For everything there is a season.
    Thanks for sharing.

I'm a Louisiana boy from the suburbs, my dad was raised in the country around cattle and riding horses, he became a bull rider and eventually quit and became an IT specialist, my grandma lived and was raised in the country around horses and animals, she still lives there and I love seeing her neighbor's pony every time I visit. When I get out of the military and college, I build enough money from doing computer programming work, I want to own my own ranch. I wanted to do bull riding but I never went through with it, just recently changing my mind since I couldn't put my family though that, and potentially ruin my chances at the Naval Academy, and my future at such a young age.

I would be interested to know more about the 'Long Horn Cattle'. Are there names for them according to the colours, or horn size? Other farm animals have names like that as, roan, blue, dappled...etc. These cattle are very special, and I hope that the family continues to keep them pure and loved as, Mr Wilson does. God bless him and his family and farm.

Quite an emotional old dude. I bet the real old cowboys wouldn't have shed too many tears though reminiscing. On a long drive it was no doubt bloody hard work for not much pay. Stubborn cattle, flies, dust, heat, probably hired hands that were hard to get along with & dangerous at times. Could imagine the chow being pretty good though, coz the drovers would be mighty pissed off if the food was crap. Ppl tend to romantice history. Fact is if those cowhands could come back & tell ya, most of em would some it up by saying "its just work". Still, its a wonderful period of American history.🐂🐎🇺🇸
