Fun times building your own bike. I wish Canyon would sell framesets to us mere mortals as well as I prefer building the bike myself. There´s always compromises with buying pre-built bikes. Nice video, quality content!
Great video, I think that you have captured the thoughts and emotion with this video that I experienced when building my bike. Calm, focused, and with the anticipation that you’re building something incredibly special to ride with all the components that you know are going to work exceptionally well. Thought it would only be something that I would experience once in my life as it’s pretty expensive. Watching this though has brought the experience that I had all back. So thanks very much Rob
Absolutely stunning bike, with that unnecessarily oversized, but incredibly beautiful downtube to boot. And all so satisfying to watch you put it together with that soothing background music. Strive:ON CFR. One of my favourite bikes at the moment. I love it. Awesome video. But then, it's not like I expected anything less.
Stunning video, it's art what Canyon have created. Plus love that workshop, but you make it look so easy. Never built a bike from a kit before, would you say it's possible from little to no pre-experience
its just one complete t-type groupo. Cheaper than the old AXS set actually. Just picked up same XO for EMTB. Cranks are very lackluster compared to the spindle version.
I also like to crack open seals on bearings to top up with grease even on new builds. Not naming anyone in particular but surprised how some manufacturers put in pivot bearings with little to no grease 🤨. Nice build.
My recent experience is that the bearing manufacturers dont put enough grease in bearings and its a no brainer , given the opportunity , to easily pop the seal off and pack them properly.
There something very therapeutic about watching someone build a bike..... About the same weight as my Works Levo! However more travel & larger frame! Very nice ☺️ I like the bars, did I miss what they are Rob? Thanks in advance 👍
Rob can you tell us as the Pole Voima, is subject to import duties, would you say the Canyon Strive or Spectral the next best thing. Your vids just make want to buy loads of frames and build bikes. Amazing.
I love ur videos which inspired us to make one which always we dreamt for ! Bro Plz kindly make DUAL middrive , with wide range to cover upto 200 - 300 kms on single charge, 30 TO 60AH BATTERY CAPACITY, light weight frame , no fat tire , With front /rear carriage, ABS ALSO 🙏 for world touring ebike ! 🙏🙏🙏😊
Beautiful bike Rob, question on the One Up EDC you installed in your Fox 38. They list this tool as being "not compatible" with the Fox 38 steerer tube?
Love the bike build it's inspired me to do something similar - would you kindly share the connection type of the OneUp dropper lever to the Hope break lever clamp please
Wow what a build rob you could get a job at any bike shop lol 😂 I do really like the canyon bikes they look really well made only thing that puts me off a bit like the YT bikes is there are no uk retailers unless that’s changed?? Last time I looked it was online only buy be great if they had a demo fleet to try.. any way great vid love watching your channel rob 👍🏻
Hey Rob, have you done a video to show all your rigs you built? Wondering how many bikes you have after all these years and what are they. Keep up the high quality videos, your just draining us of money because we want this stuff haha
Hello Rob, very nice video, you convinced me buying me that bike 😉 Now just one question, could you please share exact reference of oneUp tool box and all accessories and tools needed to fit that bike please ? It seems there are different mounting kits and I don’t want to miss the right ones, thanks.
this bike would be perfect if: - cables were not routed through headset bearings. Yt Decoy has nice classic cable ports right after headtube. - canyon would sell frame parts not the whole package. For example you can't buy rear triangle. - canyon should worked on their support center and warranty claims. There are couple of examples of how "Canyon's material specialists" who never seen bike and refers only to some pictures decline warranty claim of cracked frame/chainstay?
+1 canyon support center is like lottery machine.. if you have small problem (low cost) they usually help, but if your problem is bigger (more expensive part fail) then it's get harder to get any help from them (replacement part).
@@hagsch to service (clean & re-grease) or replace headset bearings you need to unplug all the cables - Shifter, dropper, hydraulic brake and whatever.. And then after bearing service plug it back.. I think I don't need to mention how much time it could take to set all this stuff back again - re-bleeding brakes, set up shifting.. Once easy service that anyone can done now takes a lot of time and effort or much more money in bike shop..
I'm glad Rob knows who makes the finest Mt Bike Brakes...not sure why he sprinkled in the orange bits...Do you actually own these builds? What happened to your Pole Voima? Great job Rob!
@rob, Dude, how do you not have like, a bajillion subscribers? You're 'literally' a quality channel bringing forth amazing content. You are providing a wonderful service to us older MTBers that switched over to EMTBs. Your production quality is top notch, your info is top notch, your presentation is top notch, you're a great shredder, and these ASMR-like videos is what made me a subscriber a while ago. Buddy...it'll be a dark day when you've made the decision to retire from this. You're a great MTB builder. If I ever meet you in person, I'm buying you a dinner/drink/whatever, of your choice. Thanks @Rob Rides EMTB. @the TH-cam viewers - Let's make some noise for Rob!
hi rob got a canyon spectral on 8 waitiung for it to arrive ...what are the specs for the Hope Fortus 30 Rear Wheel and front wheel for me to put on this...bike..brilliant video bytheway...thanks rob
Super cool video Rob! I want to start doing videos like this on some of my bikes. Did you ask specifically/have to pull any strings to have the bike arrive unbuilt from Canyon?
I want to add to all the superlatives that everyone else has said. One question : How did you get hold of all the parts from Canyon, or did you just buy the frame from them ? I'd like to build my own if its cheaper.
Hey Rob, I’m 6’3 as well.. was wondering if you feel crammed at all on the climbs? Debating on whether to go L or XL. Also, do you know the weight difference between sizes? Thank you.
Weight diff between sized appears to be under 1kg. I am 6ft and the M is spot on if that helps. But the sizing tool on Canyon's website is quite detailed, so give that a go.
So when are we going to win this badboy? :D I got those Hope Tech4 on 2 of my bikes. They are the absolute best brakes I have ever used after Shimano 4pot XT, Deore, SLX and MT520 and some SRAM ones (DB8, Guides).

My Turbo Levo has just started gently weeping in the garage 😂 Nice build Rob 👌🏻

Amazing ! I got my one a week ago , already tested in Surrey Hills , freaking love it !!!!!!!!!!
Lovely video Rob and so therapeutic to watch. A tool for every job helps enormously 🤙
Except he misses a grease gun. Makes such a big difference to not put grease where it shouldn't be.
So relaxing to watch I've not built a bike from scratch for many years but there's nothing more satisfying
This is surprisingly therapeutic. Makes me want to build my own from scratch, although that’s a lot of ££££ worth of tools ⚒️
What a video. Totally brilliant Rob. Bike pretty cool to!!!!
Such a beauty. Well done. Thank you.
Absolut stunning bike :) good job Rob!
I could watch your bike builds all day long!!
Well jel. would be the words. Great video Rob and great bike and you must have really enjoyed building it. I know I would have.
Wow. I could watch these every day. Please do more :)
Cool Bike and Build...Nice one Rob 🙂
Fantastic looking bike.
So relaxing to watch! now you need to give us a clasic Rob Rides review video on that bike!

The bike is epic, v pleased with mine.
Thats probably the best riding ebike ever assembled.
Nice Build, very satisfying to build it your way. Like these videos, makes me want to build my own.
Stunning video, it's art what Canyon have created. Plus love that workshop, but you make it look so easy. Never built a bike from a kit before, would you say it's possible from little to no pre-experience
It was like a theraphy. Fabulious job! 🎉
A work of art Rob.. well done! Awesome video! 👌👏
What a sick build.keep up the good work
Wow 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I'm impressed Respect Rob

Mesmerizing.
Nice Building Skills,You Should Have a Bike Shop.
Fantastic video Rob!
I love how Rob just has a draw full of the new sram stuff, its hilarious

There’s very little left of the original CFR spec! It’s really, really lovely. Envious of that workshop too.
Best Mechanic 💪
I need this handle bar 💪
terrific build
Brilliant to watch 😊
Rob can you tell us as the Pole Voima, is subject to import duties, would you say the Canyon Strive or Spectral the next best thing. Your vids just make want to buy loads of frames and build bikes. Amazing.
U surprise me all time Rob 💪
Perfect spec there 👌🏻 although I'd have an EXT rear coil 👌🏻👌🏻
Patience of a saint

my Dream E-Bike
Beautiful bike Rob, question on the One Up EDC you installed in your Fox 38. They list this tool as being "not compatible" with the Fox 38 steerer tube?
my question is how do you even buy the frame kit from the canyon web page ???
Love the bike build it's inspired me to do something similar - would you kindly share the connection type of the OneUp dropper lever to the Hope break lever clamp please
bike looks mint 👍👍👍👍
Coolest and qayast video of I've ever seen

1:58 he's flipping us off!!
Would love to see more content on the Canyon Spectral ON and/or Torque ON. We don't get the Strive in the USA
Drinking everytime Rob says bosch motor is the best, hjick

100%, I will never buy a bike with cables through the headset.
cable headset bearings should be banned!
What is wrong with cables routed through the headset bearings?
@@hagsch to service (clean & re-grease) or replace headset bearings you need to unplug all the cables - Shifter, dropper, hydraulic brake and whatever.. And then after bearing service plug it back.. Very beautiful bike! Awesome! Any chance you make a build for an EMTB that you'll add a throttle?
awesome
And still replacing the bearings every few so months and cracked frames?
Respect!!! 😮👊🏿
Nice video Rob. Which one would you personally buy between the Canyon strive on or New wild FS?
I guess Strive because he bought one?
Rob, great channel. very interested in your compressed air setup, can you provide details
Hi how did you get the one up edc to fit the fox steer tube? I have just bought a canyon strive on after watching your video's
Hey rob what is that Presta valve pump connection called I been looking for one for my compressor for ages
NIce video. Are you done with the Voima for 2024 then??
Nice build Rob , I’m am struggling to like the massive down tube and also not a fan of the stem spacers
Better than any meditation video I've ever seen 😂
I'm glad Rob knows who makes the finest Mt Bike Brakes...not sure why he sprinkled in the orange bits...Do you actually own these builds? What happened to your Pole Voima? Great job Rob!

Thank u for yr video; canyon strive on vs canyon torque on cf 9 which is better?
Kinda looks like the edc cap isn’t sitting straight. Is it supposed to do that?
Killer build! What brand are those cable clips you used to keep the dropper and brake line cables nice and neat?
Regular Canyon clips !
Feels like I'm getting a massage without a happy ending.
hi rob got a canyon spectral on 8 waitiung for it to arrive ...what are the specs for the Hope Fortus 30 Rear Wheel and front wheel for me to put on this...bike..brilliant video bytheway...thanks rob
what are the things used on the cables to tidy up they look super neat ?
Super cool video Rob! I want to start doing videos like this on some of my bikes. Did you ask specifically/have to pull any strings to have the bike arrive unbuilt from Canyon?
Is that the Same color U get in the Website for the mid Spec? IT Looks so good in this Video wtf? 👍
I want to add to all the superlatives that everyone else has said. One question : How did you get hold of all the parts from Canyon, or did you just buy the frame from them ? I'd like to build my own if its cheaper.
What is the name of the bike stand? Nice video.
Spewing we cant get these in Australia😢 spoke to canyon and they said "no not available" do not know why🤷🏼♂️
Think i will put galfers on my next build
How do you get these unbuilt frames?
nice
That bike is soooooo nice. I'd love to have one but I just cant bring myself to spend 8k on a bike. Maybe this is more than that indont know
V relaxing...;-)
Nice build! Why Title Aluminum handlebar? Why not carbon from Title or OneUp?
The same reason I won’t run Carbon bars and the same reason the Pro’s choose to run Aluminium bars and not Carbon.
ive had carbon bars fail so on a downhill def alu
what the bike weight Rob? I am interesting to order it , on sale on Sep for usa ..
Hey Rob,

Is there a technical reason to use Galfer brake discs instead of the Hope`s own ? And is this the 38mm TITLE Bar ?
50mm Title Bar. I have had good experience with Galfer rotors so chose them based on that 👍
@@RobRidesEMTB Ok that`s the 31,8 mm one right ?
So when are we going to win this badboy? :D I got those Hope Tech4 on 2 of my bikes. They are the absolute best brakes I have ever used after Shimano 4pot XT, Deore, SLX and MT520 and some SRAM ones (DB8, Guides).
S E N S A T I O N A L
What is that plastic square thing on the presta valve?
Awesome build, erm what are the chances you would sell it to me....?
I wish I could buy just the black frame and add all cashima parts :(
WOW.....
Are they selling frames only?
Nope
