I love the `88 Buick Regal. To me it`s the best looking Regal, ever. Sophisticated, cool digital dash, comfortable, safe and distinctive. Those were the days.
This model came out in 1987 as an all-new for 1988 model year. Very stylish, and comfortable. To me this is the best styling for the Regal and I love the digital instruments too. I looks great with the wheel wire and GS tires.
One of my favorite commercials... this was filmed in northern Oregon and southern Washington. But yeah it aired in 1987 because you see the "Coming October 1st".
Great driving car; this car drove differently than the Chevrolet Lumina, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and Pontiac Grand Prix. The Buick had a nice interior, comfortable ride, and I loved that electronic dashboard. Also, it may have been a large coupe, but it sure looked good. The door mounted belts took getting used to, but overall, a nice vehicle. Buick definitely makes a fine product.
I had an '88...........loved that car! Now since GM abolished the Pontiac and Oldsmobile, they've upgraded the Buick to compete with Lexus...........which leaves it untouchable to a lot of us now. What a shame.
The Buick regal became better in 1989 when they added more features to it. Day time running lights, and the hood ornament. But still I think any car is always better the second year they feature it because it gives you an idea how the 1988 was and what solutions you needed to do to make the 1989 better.
Ah yes, this was my first car. Even though it's 2.8 liter V6 was a complete dog, the interior looked like it was designed by Stevie Wonder, and it had no handling to speak of, I loved the hell out of it. I waxed it once a month and it was built like a tank: I hit two deer with it on separate occasions with little to no damage. Heck, I even took advantage of the 6 passenger feature! It finally passed on when I was in college, after it's head gasket blew with 120,000 miles. RIP sweet prince.
I watched a video somewhere on here saying that the following year had the day time running lights as an option on the 89 model year. But I wasn't sure what they were talking about becuz I have an 89 and don't have those running lights either... So yeah.
this commerical really described the whole new redesigned Buick Regal today the new Buick Regal commerical describes how shitty it looks this commerical had class
Locations: 0:15 - St. John's Bridge, Portland, OR 0:27 - Mount Hood? 0:40 - Astoria-Megler Bridge, Columbia River 0:45 - Forest Park, Oregon Any others you recognize?

Can you imagine Buick making a commercial like this today? Their regal is crappy and they couldn't even come close to making a jingle like this. It's just said that advertisements and cars changed alot over the last 20 years for shit.

My folks had an '89 Regal GS.. I learned to drive in that car... Even with a 3.1, it was nasty. I wish they'd gotten one with the 3800 though :)
This was one of my favorite commercials when I was a baby.

The W cars are underrated.
Saw the St. Johns Bridge in Portland in there.
"Six passenger.." , seriously? Six pple crammed into that thing?
yo mama 2 doors, 2 seats and couch in the back. 4 max, 5 if they're kids in the back. the car is crazy comfortable, feels like livingroom seats.
@lcfanyc your right about that I own a 89 regal I dont know why people call them old lady out of date cars
I still want one, they are becoming harder to find! Sad sad
I have a 91 Regal GS 2 door and it's awesome... It also has a supercharged motor swapped into it from a newer car.
The first six passenger american car with 4 wheel independent suspension and 4 wheel power disc
