Main wire : Can use wire with diameter from 0.7 - 1mm ( 21 gauge - 18 gauge ) , length 20 - 35cm ( 8 - 18 inch) depending on the size of the ring, and the number of circle (large diameter wire can make 2 circle, small diameter wire can make 4 circle to ensure product durability)
Winding wire: Can use wire with diameter from 0.3 - 0.6mm ( 28 gauge - 22 gauge ), 10cm (4 inch) long. If you want to create more texture, you can use more wire.
This template can be used for most stone shapes and sizes (oval, round, teardrop, square...). Small sized stones should use small diameter wire, large size stones should use large diameter wire
* In the video I use :
20 gauge ( wire diameter 0.8mm ) : 30cm( 12 inch)
26 gauge ( wire diameter 0.4mm ) : 10cm( 4 inch)
Oval stone size 10 x 14mm
* My original idea was to make a ring using 1 large stone, I have tried many different ways to hold the stone. I have failed more than 10 times before choosing the right way to hold the stone (these are the times I tried yesterday, the days before I threw it in the trash)
After that, I also had to try 6 times to find the right way making, wire size and length suitable for me, to come up with a pattern that makes me satisfied.
So don't be discouraged if you don't succeed on the first try, because for each person the parameters may be different.
* Use tape to fixed the wire and stone, for easier manipulation
