No, not really. The platform has seen loads of times before where a huge amount of players were in a game at once and it caused little to no issues. Example: Adopt Me reaching almost 2 million concurrent players at once in april of 2021.

I was a victim of this outage. I still find this outage admiring, insane, and peculiar how they crashed because of an increase of players. That kind of issue can be fixed pretty quickly. A memory I had was that people, including me were making jokes. I did touch grass for all those three days, though. Edit: You guys, I am aware it wasn’t that bad. I never cried about it. Turns out: one of the servers responsible for the code had experienced a critical error, which caused the code to snap. All of the code had snapped due to the server, so they had to re-write the entire code again.
Code does not "snap"-if a server crashes due to overload, they can just reflash their code again in the span of a few minutes. No need to "rewrite" it or anything.

i was thinking that some kind of vulnerability caused by bloated code resulted in roblox staff having to recode an essential part of their infrastructure from scratch, taking down the website for a couple days.

It's just their infrastructure is not prepared for such large spikes of players and they had no idea how to improve their capacity in a short amount of time without completely taking the servers down.

As someone who was a new roblox player at the time (i joined February 2021) and i had no roblox messages or twitter or anything like that at the time so i was completely left in the dark i remember being icredibly disappointed as roblox was basically the only thing i did at the time. Man, I remember this. My friends and I had to resort to playing Minecraft and Among Us (when it was popular) since we had nothing else to do. Truly an incident of the century

As someone who was a new roblox player at the time (i joined February 2021) and i had no roblox messages or twitter or anything like that at the time so i was completely left in the dark i remember being icredibly disappointed as roblox was basically the only thing i did at the time.
It made me see how lucky i really was to play roblox.

I just remembered: i joined roblox (on my current main) during OCTOBER OF 2021, near the time of the outage. How did i time it so perfectly? And i even timed the date of my account reactivation to the 4th of july. How can i be so unlucky yet so lucky???
I had a account from 2019 full with rare stuff like badges and itens, i think i also had some robux on it too, then it happened and i got very panicked and without knowing what was happening, when it got back i lost my account, probably got hacked before coming back to it wich was like a week after roblox being normal and also my account didnt save on my device

when blox fruits reached a record high amount of players, and the servers crashed for about the entire day
even the infamous maintenance screen was put up again

I remember this, I was 13 years old when I was getting a Burito, but then my whole Roblox crashed. Later than I knew, I couldn't play video games for 3 days which I was so bored. I was looking after hour by hour to see if it would come on again, but then it didn't.

I remember being on the website when that happened. For a few minutes I tried refreshing the page until Roblox actually loaded one game.. and that game was Epic Minigames. I was so glad. I stayed in that server for hours but then ended up leaving since I had to go to bed. The next day I couldn't play and had to wait. But still, I played Roblox during an outage which was really cool being like the only one on the website. 🙃

This shouldnt be called the Burrito Event. It instead should've been called the "Go Touch Grass Event" because for the first time, Roblox forced the tryhards of the community to stop playing and go outside.

i was in 5th grade when this happened, and i vividly remember going to see family for halloween and trying to play with my cousin (obviously it wouldn’t work) and frankly this is the only thing i remember from 2021
I remember this incident vividly. It was confusing to me because it was one of the first few Roblox outages for me. The other ones lasted only around 30 mins so I didn’t think anything of it. Little did I know, this would go down as one of the worst outages in gaming history. Everyday checking the app on my iPad but there was no use. I am grateful to still have my account to this day. 😢

this is something i will never forget. i remember on that exact day i thought my account was getting hacked and when i heard it was happening internationally i thought it was the April fools hackings all over again.

At first, we didnt know what had happened, but as the time passed, we realized it must be the biggest outage in roblox history.
