2011 or so, I was working at the cold stone creamery in Medford Oregon. I helped a group of men with accents order some ice cream with some shots of espresso. They said they were a band. What band? Hammerfall. Later my friend killed me for not getting an autograph 😂
Daaaamn, that was badass. I'd probably flip it out If I encountered these guys in real life. I'm 25 and been listening to them ever since I was 12, and they have a very special place in my heart. I've heard maaaaany bands in my lifetime of listening to metal, but they, they will always be my number 1. I think I'd probably even cry If I encountered them in real life, because of the sheer amount of nostalgia their older songs give me, and the memories of how their music got me through some of the roughest times.

I discovered Hammerfall as a kid,
I never knew how deep their lyrics were until
I grew older.
me 2, i was 8 year old
the song is catchy and has energy to it. only after paying attention to the lyrics do you realise they are exactly the opposite of the other bands with catchy songs. when I discovered the band it reminded me of soad because of that even though it sounded very differently.

I heard/saw Hammerfall for the first time about two months ago, on a live concert where they played before Helloween, and I'm listening to them almost nonstop now. I get goosebumps from most of their songs, and I am considering having Venerate me played on my graduation.

My point exactly! It's not about an epic fight, but about the refusal/inability to acknowledge his mistakes, mentioning also how heavy a burden it is(he hopes it's not too late to change, he tries and fails to change it repeatedly).
This song surmises perfectly the weight of the Sin of Pride, which is a barely(if at all) hidden message that makes just that much more awesome and deep!

man these guys were some of the first i explored on youtube with. i remember getting home from school and listening to hammerfall while finally playing my friday night games. twas some good times. lots of fun, awesome music. so happy they've been around for as long as they have. plus through them I found other great stuff like nightwish and sabaton, and so forth.

Ich bin so ein alter Knochen, höre schon 35 Jahre Metal, aber irgendwie erinnert mich dieser ganze skandinavische Sound an meine Jugend mit Helloween u.a. in den 80-ern. Ist halt sehr melodisch und ordentlich geknüppelt wird auch. 😁

To me, this is a song that truely represents loneliness. That feeling, when you're surounded by people, and still feel so alone. Like you don't belong, and will never belong anywhere. And you hate everyone for being different, and everywhere you look, there's a fight and struggle for you. And you fight, every day, even though in reality there's nothing to fight with and to fight for. But still, in your mind, you see your cause as "Glorious and noble", feeling like you do the right thing. You stand your ground at all costs, and you run from life with blind folds, just for the right to be wrong. So basically, you know you're wrong, but ignore everything around you, ignore other people, because you want your cause to be right, even though you know it's not, and you walk with your head held high, trying to show at least a little bit of pride on your actions and your principals.
Now go back and listen to the song again after reading this.
