I needed to see this to remind myself that I can just enjoy the game however tf I wanna enjoy it, optimal and min/max be damned. I've loved the spear since the first game, and when tonfas first came out in nioh 1, they became my immediate #1 despite people saying that tonfas were trash. I think im gonna start fresh, even tho I can respec, I never actually beat nioh 2 cause I just got too frustrated, and I think thats because the endgame for Nioh 1 had my mindset changed to being optimal and that ruined the innocence of enjoying nioh 1, but 2 lets you do whatever the hell you want and I want to embrace that newfound freedom.
I know the feeling. I used to have the mentality of min/maxing but, as you said, it's just not that fun. Nioh 2 is amazing in that creativity and exploration is greatly rewarded. Whenever I change up something, I find my approach to gameplay to change quite a bit and it's refreshing :)
if anyone’s lucky you can get both ultimate heart and courage in a single scroll and it’s wild update: just rerolled the third stat and ended up having ultimate skill
You were right about the grace you're just running effectively a budget version 2 piece: Ki +150 3 piece: Faster movement speed on Amrita absorption 4 piece: Dodge ki consumption -20% 5 piece: Ki recovery speed +20% 6: piece: Extended Status enhancements +30% 7: piece: Melee Attack Ki Consumption -30%
I like being on top of the boss also like being tanky so six piece Oyamatsumi, five piece Onmyo Austerity, three piece Tsukukyomi. Granted I found this in the Nioh 2 discord it fits my play style I enjoy staying on top of the boss as long as possible I enjoy confusion I enjoy being tanky and trading blows.
for me, definitely max dex and mag for max capacity.. I though about bringing empowered ninjutsu and onmyo but realized they cannot be activated at the same time, I chose emp.ninjutsu since ninjutsu item generally cost more than onmyo so it is more limited in number.. the other set is omoikane for more chance of jutsu spamming
I've heard this a few times. Scaling my equipment/damage to deal with stronger enemies is basically a net zero change. So, I save myself the trouble of doing all the extra grind work for nothing by making no change.
Frankly, I want at least enough attack power to make sifting through the abundance of RNG take less time so I can work on something else other than hunting down that last piece of gear with the grace and rolls I want for the rest of eternity.
Hi there, PooferLlama! I love your videos. My friend and I would like to try your approach to using low-leveled weapons to extend the time of our fights in co-op. We are aiming to have 3-4 minute boss fights as well. We just entered NG+ and have used level 110 weapons for the last few missions of NG. This made the fighting pace quite reasonable - the final boss fight took us about 4 minutes and worked very hard. Now, if we switch to the Lvl 160 Divine weapons in NG+, the fights will undoubtedly get very short again. But we would still like to use Divine weapons to have access to the extra attributes and Remodelling feature. How would you suggest we manage our weapon levels and upgrades to maintain the slow fight pacing as we progress into NG+? Thank you in advance!
Honestly, it gets easier to control weapon power in NG+2 because you may have to start buffing other portions of your gear in order to fit whatever it is you are aiming for. But, you can just forge 160s with no plus level and that should do the trick. Whenever you feel the damage is too low, then you can soul match it with stuff that has a plus level on it.

No, dodge range up doesn't stack. Oops I forgot to mention my clan. I'm using Ukita clan which gives Life Recovery on Purification and reduces Damage Taken over Time. It facilitates the whole I dont wanna use elixirs that often lol.
That's gonna be a very subjective tier list. I personally enjoy weapons based on their variety and their ability to keep me engaged. I enjoy Sword/Splitstaff & Spear/Hatchets the most. I dislike playing Dual Swords.
Thanks for sharing your build. It really comes down to your game skills and not whats is your stats. I’m going crazy trying to look for the perfect piece of armor/weapon/scroll and you still kicking ass with any of those things being fully optimized. Got to concentrate more on skill rather than trying to one shot the bosses. What I think would be great, is videos on skill play for all weapons. Basic ideas on how to make the most out of all the moves weapons have to offer. I try learning from your videos, but you are going so fast 😬

Same here, but I never even got half-way through the first playthrough lol. Im starting fresh now so I can stop worrying about builds and really do this right by myself so I can fully enjoy this game without thinking about optimal builds and such.

This is a challenge itself overwhelmed your enemies with combinations.
Intro TLDR: When you're so good at this game that you have to handicap yourself so that it stays challenging/fun.

Maximize damage, just put plus 9 stone of penance. It boosts HP and DMG of enemies
