Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and we are now in the process of growing our family through #adoption. We have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. I remember years ago watching a Q&A video wherein you guys explained that you thought parenting wasn’t going to be in the cards for you because of Mary’s health. I’m so happy to see those circumstances change and watch you live this dream❤️
If we have faith just a small as a mustard seed God can provide us with beautiful blessings. I know watching that video of them saying the child it's not in the cards for them but look where they are now their parents of a beautiful baby boy what a beautiful for that mother to carry him and give him to a loving home to be raised with godly parents ❤️

Ollie and Harry's reactions to you saying goodbye were the most cat and dog reactions I've ever seen! Ollie : oh thanks I love you too my people. Oh don't cry, I will raise my eyebrows with concern. Are you ok my peoples? Harry: don't touch me, I did not ask for this affection first.

I know that feeling of spontaneous crying. We too just adopted our baby in Nov.21 ( born 5/29/21) I find myself staring at him crying and even while teaching or just worshipping the Lord, the tears flow. My husband too is a pastor and we just can't believe we were chosen.
For a minute, when you and Peter were slow dancing in your room, I saw you in another room and Mary had a huge tummy and Peter was holding you and dancing with you! It was such a beautiful thing to envision. I love the way you two dance together. Never stop doing that!

I adopted my son 31 years ago. He was born on December 19, 1990 and yet it often feels like it happened just yesterday. What a treasure he is to us.

I love that your story to your son is short, comparatively. I follow some adoptive parents that waited years and had their hearts broken repeatedly due to failed adoptions. It is so joyous to see it go well. Can't wait to see Elijah grow and you guys grow as parents.xx

I have been following you for soooo many years - in June 2020, I was diagnosed with severe lupus. I now no longer know if I will be able to carry my future children - watching this journey has given me so much peace with the possibility that this could be my husband and I's future way to build our family.
That giddiness is exactly how i felt after I had my daughter when we came home! Like I had the most priceless treasure that was all mine and I couldn't even believe it was real. Love you guys!
Congratulations!!! I am so thrilled for you all!!! Your laughing and crying is making me laugh and cry!!! We chose the name Elijah for our beloved son, because of the meaning as well! And guess what! My contractions with our Elijah started at church too! (And my water broke) - and we were thrilled to share it with them and have them circle us in prayer as we were running through the parking lot in an excited tizzy 🤣😂

I don't know the specifics of this adoption, but it seems less problematic than others I've heard of. What a huge blessing if that's the case! This sweet boy was meant for you and Peter and yall were meant for him! Praying for you, Peter, and Elijah's bio family.

All adoption is problematic. That's the nature of it. Even God adopting us into his family is problematic if you think about it. That doesn't mean adoption shouldn't ever happen. It's just the nature of adoption. Informed adoption is SO SO SO important.

Brought back memories of going t o meet our son 47 years ago. The thrill was so amazing he was 7 weeks old when we met him. So happy for you. I now have 3 grandchildren through him, oldest is 25. February 21 1974 was an amazing day.
I just realized how nice it must be for the birth mother to be able to watch these videos. She will be reassured her baby is loved and cared for by such amazing parents ❤

God bless you guys and Elijah Lee! My oldest daughter had her first baby by c-Section on New Year’s Eve! She is 29 weeks! I cried out to the Lord with my voice. He heard me from His Holy Hill! Yesterday the genetic doctors said they have not found anything wrong with her! She had excess fluid and my daughter had preeclampsia. Both baby and my daughter were at risk! They said baby may not make it! They can’t find anything! She is doing good! I cried most of one day praying God would be merciful and touch her!! That night I felt a calm and never felt the fear! She was born 2 days later by c-section! She had excess fluid but it is gone! Everything else is good! She will continue to grow and develop in the NICU til close to her due date! God is so good!

This is such an emotional video. One that if watched the birth parents will know that they chose the perfect parents for their precious child. Congrats to both of you and extended heartfelt prayers to the birth mother and family for making this difficult decision. Peace will be in them just knowing how wanted and loved this child will be.

This video brings back memories for me when my daughter was born. When I got the phone call and running to the hospital to watch my daughter coming into this world. All those emotions that my husband and I were going through. To see her come out and me being able to cut the cord was amazing. I will never forget that moment. It is nice to see what a adoption story is like from your side. I hope this will lead more women who have a unplanned pregnancy to consider adoption. All life is precious. Your joy is so sweet and shows a parent is a choice always.
I don't know, but I feel like if I was pregnant and giving birth and wasn't in a place where I could be really happy about it, I think it might be a comfort to know that there was someone who was there ready to greet the child with pure simple joy.
Definitely, so many can't have children, that there is parents who are waiting for the baby with this much love and exitement. Not judging though if not everyone can go through it.

You have absolutely no idea how extremely happy I am for you guys!!! I have been following your channel for a few years now and I’ve seen you go from being in the hospital really frequently to needing a transplant, to being able to adopt your sweet baby boy! I was born with my heart backward and have had many heart surgeries. I was doing amazing until a few weeks ago and all of a sudden my heart function has dropped. Me and my fiancé were planning on starting the adoption process soon. We just found out last night that I have to go up to Gainesville to start my evaluation for a heart transplant. So our adoption journey has been put on hold but I know that God is watching over us and has plans for our family to grow when the time is right! I think God is telling me that I need to be healthy before we can care for our own little one! So we are just taking it day by day. Your channel has given me so much hope. I will continue to follow your beautiful journey in life. I am so happy for you guys and hopefully soon, we will have our little one in our lives too! ❤️
