    If you read all four Gospels together, you will see that Peter denies the Lord three times and the cock crows the first time. Then Peter denies the Lord a further three times and the cock crows the second time. He actually denies the Lord six times. One of the Gospels actually records four of the six denials.

      @@Let_The_Bible_Speak I wrote a paper on this about 35 years ago. And it is a bit lengthy. But if you do a search of "six denials of peter" you will find plenty of info online. This is a unique story in that all four Gospels are required to fully tell the story. When I was studying this out, I was a bit confused until I realized that the same Greek work is used for "palace" and "courtyard". And IIRC there is a maiden that is among the first series of denials, that later during the second series of three, when she confronts him again, that he ends up cursing before. Petty neat how all the Gospels work together here.
