N64 didn't do 480p but 480i (with the Expansion Pak as mentioned). That means it still only rendered 240 lines every frame, just alternatingly between the odd and even lines to still make up a resolution of 480p (but blurrier and with interlacing artifacts).

One redeeming quality of this card is it is running on the same architecture as the Radeon 2000 series. The Radeon HD 2000 and HD 3000 series processed 2D graphics completely differently than more modern cards, and some windows-embedded-based japanese arcade games were coded around this 2D processing. One great example is the Konami rhythm game 'beatmania IIDX'. Version 18 and 19 of the series used PCs featuring the Radeon HD 2400 cards. Those weren't actually very common or cheap around the time this game was being hacked/cracked for personal home-use. The HD 3450, however, was just a slightly boosted 2400 card, and was way more common to find lying around and for a lower price. Without using a card from this series, the games graphics feature diagonal slices through them and other minor distortions. So these cards are actually a welcome addition to anyone who wants to run those older versions of the game and other related games that used the same type of cards in their builds. Believe it or not the mini-DIN/S-video also comes in handy for when someone wants to use this on a proper CRT or arcade monitor from that era. (especially combined with appropriate component/vga/s-video conversion cable)
I've seen so many of those things at the E-recycling/Refurbishing place I work at. They're pretty much junk, but they still sell, so we don't send them straight to the reclaim department. You can get DMS cables with DVI connections, but that won't improve much, if anything.

Hey for £15 I got 2 sockets 775 motherboards the first has a basic Pentium 4 and the second has a Core 2 Quad q6600 which was pretty cool. I also got an HD 5450, 7800 GTX, fx5200, about 6 cd drives, 2 audio cards, 3 ide cables, a modem card and a wifi card. As soon as I got it it smelled horrifying. Everything was covered with a layer of sticky tar and a lot of dust. I got all of it even the power supply striped it all down and soaked it in the bath for an hour. the heatsinks were the worst and I found that Mr. Musle bathroom cleaner works well to remove tar. Anyway, after all that everything smelled a bit better but not much I can do about that. I put everything together after drying it with a hair dryer and letting it sit for a day. Everything worked. :) (All thermal paste was replaced with arctic mx-4 and i have some new thermal pads for the gpu coming in the post)
Next time when you clean a cpu, remove the fan, it had 3 screws, and a 3 wire plug to undo, then behind the cooler here should be a sticker with a optional rubber ring, peel half of the sticker and remove the ring (if any) then take a needle and put a few drops of fine machine oil, the one use in mechanics such as sewing machines for example, DO NOT use any other lube type, sprays, wd40, alcohol etc. Spin the cooler a bit, add more fine machine oil but don't over do it. Put it back together and it will reduce the noise considerably, it did winders for my 2008 GT 9500!

I love that they blurred the guy out on the toilet though he clearly didn't pull down his pants lol
this is the first videocard i ever used in a self built pc. a mainboard with cpu, fan, ram and this card cost me 10€ back then
Hey for £15 I got 2 sockets 775 motherboards the first has a basic Pentium 4 and the second has a Core 2 Quad q6600 which was pretty cool.
(All thermal paste was replaced with arctic mx-4 and i have some new thermal pads for the gpu coming in the post)
Nice steal
You should post more often. I watch these videos a lot, and one day, I realized that I had watched pretty much all of them : | Feed me.
I was actually quite supprised to see software inc in this video as usually these smaller indie games are never mentioned
Subbing for your intro music. Love Alan Parsons.
so this card worked after in the oven, must be some secret trick to improve gpu performance. let me go try it on my titan x
It is to fix poor or broken solder connections, as the heating re flashes the solder. Your last sentence make me think you were joking however.
As soon as I saw the S-Video port I knew it was from a Dell. The 9300GE from an OptiPlex 780 I used to own also had one
Some LowSpecGamer tier tweaking and hardware knowledge, enjoying B)
I have a evga gtx 1070 ftw...but still watching!
