I of course, love all your videos, but this one was super EXCITING! I LOVE collecting multiples of the same dolls too, especially for the variety and variants. The facial paint can sometimes really fool me and make me think the head sculpts are different, when they are actually the same. Not to say that some characters don't have slightly different head sculpts, but it's difficult to tell sometimes, and I find that fascinating! Wonderful review of your prototype and sample dolls. It was wonderful seeing your collection. Thanks for sharing!
Seeing all these samples and prototypes really makes me realize just how different RH would've looked if MGA went with any of these over what we end up getting. Especially for Violet and River.
The rainbow surprise dolls do come with the tattoos on. You should be able to be a sealant oven then to take away the stickiness, either Mr. Super Clear or a paint on varnish/sealant, like even mob podge would probably do it.
I LOVE seeing your doll collection and restyles. I wanted to warn my fellow doll collectors that I have heard Mila's second outfit can leave red stains on pale dolls. Keep up the GREAT vids!
For the tattoos for the Rainbow Surprise dolls, you could take images of each one, then remove them to clean the dolls, and then reference the images to repaint them onto their arms, so that then there done with paint that can be sealed, because the current tattoos might not react well to any sealant.
I don't know a ton about the doll production process and samples and whatnot, so this was interesting. I enjoy that one of the Poppys is randomly dressed like Peppy Pom Poms. My only issue with River is that his eyes looked too big. The protos look better to me without the eyeliner. If I ever get Finn I might acetone off his eye paint to see how much of a difference it makes. That said, I do appreciate that they paint a bit of detail around the boys eyes even though they aren't wearing makeup.
I had Amethyst Rae new, and the tattoos are already applied. Mine were sticky too, and the doll was only out for about a year when I bought her. Some online sources I looked at suggested applying a sealant (Mr. Super Clear). I sold her without doing that, though.
You can try brushing some talc (I just used translucent setting powder lol) on the Rainbow Surprise tattoos and that should set them without making them look any different!
I love seeing variants! I would love to find a batch 1 series 1 Sunny but I have been looking and couldn't see one yet (I am in Europe) I wonder if variants could be documented on Dollect. It'd be great, although I know that'd take a lot of time...
I got a Kia head from china to replace my too shiny face Kia, and I got the make up I wanted (more neon lips), but she has no eyebrows. I like her still, will decide later to paint eyebrows on her or not. And also got a used Margot and she has a very pale violet eyes instead of blue (have not seen that eye color in other rh doll), I think maybe a deffect but a very fortunate one, she looks so stunning with those eyes.
Lmao and I couldn't afford to buy even one yet.... But I am in Europe, we're a bit behind so they are not found in thrift stores yet, they are a very hot toy and sell for decent price on the second hand market. I don't think they mass sell enough to be found at the thrift just yet.
I need to find so many rainbow high dolls even need to find doubles of ones I wanna custom problem is being broke and them being so expensive where I live
The extra up-and-down/diagonal tilt movement was not present until Holly and Laurel, though there are batches of earlier dolls that were released after H+L that have the extra articulation
It's sad that you just have a giant tub full of rainbow High dolls that just sit in there while I'm over here struggling to find the ones that I want LOL

I agree that the winter break Violet is ugly and the other ones you got are so much better! It took so long for them to fix the violets faces. Still do not like Jade because of her eyebrow placing
