When they played at US fest ‘83, they said that Tommy Lee was so embarrassed that he was near tears because they sucked so bad. Vince couldn’t sing on key, Sixx barely knew how to play bass, Tommy was doing his best on drums. In fact the only one who could play was Mars and they said for a short man, he was head and shoulders above the rest, He was the professional and he was killing it.

Mars is tough as hell! I have A.S. 58 years old, You never give up with this disease, It consumes you over time as you become stiff, It's painful, Frustrating! But he is doing this without pain meds so he is still kicking Ass! Mick is a Hero to us that live with this! He really don't care what they tell him he can or can't do he just does it anyway! No stop in the man! Superman himself would struggle with this disease, Mars is Different! His hands work which is really unusual with this disease at his age but it's because he uses them so much the disease can't take over! He is a Beast! Dam what they say WATCH WHAT I DO! The strength it takes to do what he does cannot be measured! He breaks all the rules of this disease!

I’ve got A.S. also and play guitar in a rock band, so it’s amazing to me watching Mick all these years perform at the level he does. Is there anything out there citing Micks medications/injections at all? How do we know he doesn’t use pain meds? Having been in a wheelchair for 2 years after breaking my back, I can’t imagine not having pharmaceuticals on board. Humira injections got me out of the chair and back into life (at just 36 years old) and I never looked back. I don’t know how anyone could perform like Mick does without the biologics, narcotics, or pain patches on board. I do all 3 and can barely walk the day after a show. Hats off to Mr. Mars.

It could be the other members of Crue thought with Mars advanced age and appearance because of poor health he was no longer up to band standards as far as image and their desire to appeal to the younger fan’s.
Maybe Nikki, Tommy and Neil thought he looked like he left the nursing home to go on tour.
I’m a fan of Mick Mars and wish he never had to leave the band.
It’s a shame the band tried to screw Mars out of compensation and tried to weasel out of their legal obligations to Mick.

I certainly feel for Mick Mars as I myself have some sort of spinal arthritis as well, but so far it's been nothing this bad!!! But I just want him to know that I think of his pain and suffering, and pray that he'll get not only some relief from it, but maybe healed some day soon!!! And thanks for everything you've done with Motley Crue musically as I totally agree with everyone here whose said that Motley Crue wouldn't be Motley Crue without you and your contributions to the bands catalog of music and career Mick!!! And one more thing, I absolutely really love and totally "DIG" the new songs and videos you just did yourself brother!!! Peace bro!!! 🤘👹🤘✌️

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, had it for about 20 years now. My neck has zero movement and feels like bone to the touch. My spine is completely fused together with no bend at all. It is extremely painful every single day. It can take me about an hour in the mornings to get moving around. For Mick to be able to do what has done means he is one tough SOB.

I always said I wanted to be like Mick and I’ve been successful! I play guitar and played in a few bands! We were no Motley Crue but we were good and I was blessed to be able to play with band! However about a month ago I also was Diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. Now every time I see Mick on anything and see the pain he’s in , I know this is what I have to look forward to….. and it sucks!

Arthritis epically sucks and can be totally debilitating at times for no reason it seems. Good for him for fighting through it to do what he loves for so long. Its like a gearhead trying to keep a 300k mile car on the road, the body and parts are failing and falling apart, but too much heart to take it off the road. Its inevitable, but until that day keep the dream going!

I’ve had little flare ups in my late teens. Uveitis and sciatic was the beginning. Now that I’m in my 50s my back and neck are stiffening. I have a farm so I’m always doing things to stay fit. Building, carrying feed, throwing hay bales, making a huge garden etc.
Eating healthy helps. We have goat milk and that has also helped. My stomach issues are another part of it. This condition affects many things. I’m not going the medication route. There doesn’t seem to be much help that people are doing for this condition. I’d like to start a healthy approach for people with this condition. Flare ups will happen. Stress/anxiety is a large contributor.

He invented the 80s metal sound AFAIC. I got to see them on his last tour “All Bad Things Must Come to an End” and while he looked pretty stiff he absolutely rocked the crowd. POWERFUL riffs. Honestly, Vince also sounded really good. Tommy Lee’s drum coaster is always a hit. Nikki could have been replaced 35 years ago.
