A tip for future paint jobs, hang large panels sideways for painting instead of flat like you did.
The orientation you painted in is the cause of your satin finish, you had to spray from to far away and at an angle which prevented you getting a proper 'wet' coat and also blasts the entire area with 'dry' overspray, both of which prevent getting a gloss finish.
Adding the clear coat so soon after the green was another thing that reduced the gloss, the clear coat merges with the base coat because its still too soft and the solvents in the clear coat turn it semi fluid again.

Looking forward to your built. The 140 H1 and H3 is the grandfather of John Deere's garden tractor revolution, best garden tractor of their era. The first to have hydrostatic and hydraulic operated implements. Would you be adding a hydraulic pump since you've removed the pump/hydrostatic transmission. I'm looking into doing something similar to my John Deere 318 (3rd or 4th generation after your JD140).

Hi, I am about to order the parts to build a similar project. If it wasn’t for you sharing your experience, someone like me would never attempt such a thing. Thank you.
I have a few questions before ordering my axle.
Did you fit the 1500w motor or do you still have the 500w motor installed?
How is the performance? Does it have the driving torque and power one would expect from a gas lawn tractor?
I will be electrifying the deck too and I have chosen motors for the deck. I need need the confidence that the rear axle will give me a similar driving performance as the original gas motor did.
    Thanks in advance. Christian

Glad the video helped! So I did use the 1500w motor and it works really good. It’s actually much faster than I originally desired however there is a low gear that you are going to want to hook up that comes with the axle. It gives it enough torque to pull a yard trailer over flowing with rock with no problems. It will struggle going up super steep hills though. It’s been awesome.

My first electric tractor conversion I used a floor scrubber type axle. So far I’m liking this one more. I will try to go Into a little bit more details on it in my next video!
