+djTLMtv Thank you so much for yet another great video!!! You are BY FAR the best out there, keep it up! Now I'll be honest, I was tempted downloading music for free but I am an amateur music producer and I would love it if people bought my music and supported me rather than pirate it. So I decided to go about it the proper way, let alone after watching your other video about getting it for free. I wouldn't do it anyway but it definitely made it abundantly clear that this hobby is expensive and is not for people who look for shortcuts. I am gonna have to choose the best pool for EDM, Hip Hop and Pop. I am just starting out, bought the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 and I am gonna upgrade to the full Serato. You should have a website with a paid subscription. I would pay to watch you talk and explain the way you do here on TH-cam.

Ive been a member of clubkillers (35 dollars monthly) for about two years now. they offer videos and mp3s updated daily. they have about every sub genre out there but there main selections are more hype edm, hip hop and rnb. They also offer there own edits and acapella loops and scratch samples. I dont see myself jumping to another pool anytime soon. I also use mixshow tools (10 dollars monthly)

Hey man great video! Finally someone who I can connect with on a professional level who knows what they are talking about. I'm a commercial mobile DJ. I get most of my music from smashvision.com because I've been converting everything to video. I also use promo only because I can get the audio only versions on songs that don't have videos. Both of these work great for me being in a commercial music environment. These two are my favorites that I've stayed with over the years. I started with promo only in 1998 when they did cds.

I thought I was the only one who did that... Some I have had to let go, but for the most part I still have my boxes for certain gear. In either case, I am going to check out some of the websites that you mentioned.

I am subscribed to Franchise Record Pool, DJ City and Digital DJ Pool. Franchise has a lot of new music, some throwbacks and I love the different edits they offer for each song. DJ City, I am still new to but they seem to have some exclusive tracks that I can't find on the other two sites. Digital DJ Pool is one that I like a lot because of all of the remixes and mashups they have available. I have submitted some remixes for members to download as well. I like those 3 sites. I am in the process of checking out Digiwaxx as well. Great video as always, TLM. Peace.

Hey @djtlmtv, just a quick question.
I'm with digital dj pool since they have a lot of good selection... one thing I noticed though is that sometimes their oldschool stuff is 192kbps. Would you play something that's at that quality in the club or would you not ever use it at all cuz of bad quality??

    • @stevensmelser5244
      @stevensmelser5244 9 ปีที่แล้ว

DJ TLM, Great Videos! Keep them coming. I started DJ'ing at the end of turntables and beginning of CD's, converted over to MIDI/Digital around 2007 and now looking to incorporate Turntables using DVS for the Hip-Hop/R&B gigs but I use Virtual DJ & for my Latin Gigs. I use Promo Only mainly but might be switching over to Latinos Unidos out of Florida for Latin Music.

One small thing..If you are going to do production work,CDs are great because they usually have good quality as a source and because they tend to have complete information to contact the person who handles the copyrights/publishing for sampling.

I had a really bad experience with LMP a few years ago; they basically took my subscription money for a year or so but never got any money from them. Their website wasn't so advanced back then but their customer service left a bad teste in my mouth and I never went back.
I recently started using bpmsupreme and so far I like them a lot. :)

    Hi DJ TLM,
I want to thank you for all the time you have taken to help all of us to become better DJ's. All of your videos on youtube have been great.
I printed your DJ pool list and have a questions. Would you know if any of them have music from the 70's 80's 90's?
I don't want to enroll and pay a fee if they don't have the music I'm interested in.

Hahaha the touching feeling of a "tangible product". Bro I praise u for that, I know exactly that feeling. Very good informative video, and def will check it out that one you just mentioned. My last record pool was over 2 yrs ago with one named "8th wonder" back then and changed name "djpool" I think. In the beginning was good but then they had a lot of maintenance issues and raised the price although they had bad service. Im wondering if there's any record pool for soulful house. One source I go that I like is traxsource, I their selection but they charge for every single unfortunately. Wish they had something like that!

DMS. Direct Music Services record pool. They are very pricey, but I like them a lot. Starter $29.95 gets you 40 downloads per month. Then the service gets more outrageously pricey. But I've been using DMS for two years now.

Directmusicservice.com is the web address. They have six different pricing packages (3 monthly & 3 yearly). Going with the Pro yearly can get you unlimited service for as low as $37 / month. They also have an incredibly deep catalogue of music, update every weekday, have mostly all exclusive edits and a new iPhone app that allows you to sync files you want directly to your Dropbox so you can get your work done on the go and not be limited to sitting in front of your laptop to do your work. Check it out.

Dude, thanks for sharing the knowledge. I use:
DMS (Direct Music Service) has old tracks (80s, 90s) and a lot of transitions, clean versions, accappella outs and ins
Latino Music pool: latin music such as bachatas, salsa, cumbias, and Latin version of top 40 track
ZIPDJ, great quality files, a lot of house and edm

What up TLM, I've been using Promo Only and Club Killers. Promo Only is 120 per yr, and has multiple category but I use them mainly for mainstream and Urban Radio tracks. Club Killers is $35 per month and they have both audio and video plus mashes and intro and remixes. Some of the mashes are okay but sometimes your better off just playing the original.

why most of the djpools requires some pics, banners, tickets with your name on it? others ask for web or facebook accnt to show your dj activity. i wonder how a person will be able to start his/her dj activity if most of the dj pools requires these things. ???

I just joined Promo Only a few months ago because I needed some clean versions of songs to play at weddings and certain functions. I will buy the cd as well if I need to or just want to. I also go on amazon and ITunes. I also get music from serato as well as from links that I get from different people, all legal of course.

I am subscribed to DJCITY and I love that it has so many options in terms of edits of songs such as acapella, instrumentals, Dirty/Clean versions, loops, and main. It is a 3 month subscription of $90 ($30 a month) which is not that bad. I feel that this dj pool is more geared toward Electro and less toward hip hop and rap. One con that I have with DJCITY is that the tracks are only up for 6-8 months which makes it difficult to find older "throwback" tracks for your set. Sometimes DJCITY does do a special "throwback" "intro" edit of a few tracks, but not enough for me :/ I have tried Digital DJ Pool which is $12 a month but I found that it is really unorganized for example if you type in Jay-z into the search box you will only find 1 track but if you type jayz you will find 2 tracks, this becomes very frustrating having to think of all the different ways to spell an artist name so that I can find some of their tracks. Cool thing about Digital DJ Pool is that you get a $1 5 day subscription to try it out, so you should check it out, it might not be for me but something your interested in.

one thing I need u to talk about is.... not all dj pools have all the music. I joined a pool and only had all new music not the 80 or 90s music.. have not joined any again so this kind of info would help too.. if its not to much to ask for thanks....

neroonela A lot of pools don't have everything. Most pools will focus more on 'newer' music and have a smaller collection of the older stuff. I still have to go through all the comments in this video and add all the pools to the list ;)

i started with digital dj pool because i thought it was cheaper and didnt want to spend too much money, but ended up changing it because it didnt have a lot of edm, which is the genre im into. i switched to digital music pool, and i have to say, if you need any spinnin' song or that you like, they will have it. for sure.
they have a lot of new hits too, and a variety of dj's you cant even imagine.
if you're into edm, and a bit of trap/hip-hop, its the dj pool that i would reccomend

+Emanuele Ferrero Strange... I Googled Digital Music Pool and the WOT (web of trust browser plugin) went red line... Anybody know why that site has such a poor rep?? I'm a bit of a security nut when it comes to the web and my PC so I take warnings like that seriously... Nothing like having to format your drive and start over because you picked up something nasty.. :/

+D Lewis (DJSpade) Hey, i just read this, and i have to be honest, i have no idea why they do. But i had no issues with them since i started using it. i use avast to protect my laptop and it never picked up any virus from dmp. i mean, it's 19.99$ a month. get dj city if you feel more secure with it. I never had a problem and i don't think you will. I hope this will help, but again, dj city is my second best option if you don't trust dmp. its 30 bucks a month and they have tons of music.
I hope this helped you a little

Thanks for the reply ... I'm pretty sure it has more to do with site security than service... I'll dig deeper and let you (and everyone else) know what I find/figure out. ... and yes it helped :)

If you want to do yourself. Its rather easy. Get audacity for your win or osx and okay microphone. Experiement the sound effects and be happy with the results. If you don't mind paying 50 to 100 dollars. www.yourdjdrops.com/
