She's one of the best singers of her generation. I put her up there, behind Ankudinova and Lara Fabian. All rankings are subjective of course, don't bash me about it. Her voice is special.
I’ve been thinking I really want to hear her sing some Lara Fabian. They’re both extremely powerful, controlled and emotionally connected singers with huge ranges, but with very different voices. I think it would be so cool to hear sing Adagio or Caruso in particular 👌🏻
@@WoodlandT Caruso would be great for her and also Diana Ankudinova to sing, both would put unique timbres to it. I don't see Faouzia singing in italian though, Diana I am sure would give it a shot.

What a masterclass. You definitely have earned my like, subscribe, and comment! I would love to hear your analysis of her new song "Fur Elise" ... and I'd particularly enjoy hearing your compare/contrast of the production version and the live version (both released in the last week)!

14:00 It's almost as if the heart skipped a beat or two and the structure and form of the melody of the song is not harmonious because she is " without a heart" and the heart rhythm is no longer a normal sinus heart rhythm but an irregular heart rhythm... Absolute genius reaction. 👊 You are so intuitive in addition to your professional knowledge! What a pleasure this video is!! 💯. Agitated Heart!!
Great idea, I hadn't thought of that! I wish there was some kind of public domain where artists put exactly what was going on in their heads as they composed/arranged their works Would be very fun to see

An absolutely fantastic singer-songwriter. Faouzia is such an emotional performance artist and with her Arabic vibes give the pop genre something unique and different from most pop songs of today ! She can sing seamlessly through all her registers from the Lows to the highs with power and with quiet precision to give the vocal dynamics needed for her music and especially the listener. She is a singer that is so captivating, mesmerizing, and hypnotic that makes her so wonderful to listen to. Her. music is so different from so many other artists and she writes basically all her own music and in my mind is one of the best young artists that we have today. Hey there! New-ish subscriber, and I seriously love your content. It's probably the first time I've found any my 10 years of music theory useful outside of playing, lol! Since you like being kept on your toes, I'm sure you would love Fur Elise (live) and Tears of Gold (stripped - live) both by Faouzia as well :)) PS: your head tap in the beginning killed me!! XD
I hope I will not sound creepy or disrespectful if I say that I find Faouzia’s lower register super hot… because I think it is :) The cello was also a nice touch and very fitting for her rich vocal flow. Thank you for another great instructive reaction & analyses!✌
Very unique! Not so much the subject matter, but the way she expresses it -sad , mad, bitter and frustrated. She has a great range I appreciate the lower notes, since I am an alto (even when I was really young)- we always sang harmony, so to me, it's nice to hear her sing in her lower register as a solo singer. We all know who gets the solos -Sopranos and Tenors! However I know we needed to do our parts for the whole sound in unison . ❤R/A🎼
I'll give an appreciation shout out to the altos out there Especially in some of my favourite music (from the Renaissance/Baroque periods), the altos always had the key parts - although not the most exciting as an individual line, they'd be the bringers of dissonance and harmony
@@SirHairless I appreciate your appreciation!🎼 I am hoping you went to see Dune and didn't feel guilty about it! In Handel's Messiah To Us A Child is Born, each range of singers has a chance to shine - but I have to say it isn't easy to sing.
Very interesting analysis of one of my favorite singer songwriters. ❤ I don’t think of Faouzia having a crazy range. I think of her having crazy control of whatever note she is singing. It seems singing is as easy for her as walking up and down stairs, or up and down piano keys. And I like how she mixes it up. The same phrase sung three different ways. Whether it’s the changing in the timing or dynamics, or where her voice comes from. And whether she puts in a flip, or melisma, or just sings a straight tone. Even if she only had 7 notes to work with, I think it would still be engaging.

Really enjoyed your breakdown of what she's doing vocally and musically. Would love to see more of your reactions to her songs, she is a fantastic writer and vocalist. If you want to keep with songs that are similar to this, go with Tears of Gold (stripped); Bad Dreams (stripped) this one she wrote when she was 14. A little more upbeat is Exothermic- piano version; something that is out of this style is Don't Call Me; La La La; and 1L0V3Y0U. Those are her more clublike pop songs. Thanks for reacting to her songs!! Oh, and of course her latest is Fur Elise, back to a 'darker' tone but done VERY well.

love your analysis! I have one question, though: do you think that Faouzia does most of these interesting/clever things (like the altered rhythm in „so-o-o-ory“ and so on) intentionally or do you think she does some of them intuitionally? Before watching your videos I had no clue about all the details in her performances. I actually just enjoyed them a lot as a whole. But now I can’t help but wonder how much of it was thought through and how much just came naturally to her, because all of it seems so incredibly effortless 😄
A mix of both. And there's a fine line between intention and intuition! But she will certainly do it intentionally, through intuition 👀😅 Gonna stop there before things get confusing
