💲BUY the ASUS Chromebook CM34 Flip at Best Buy: howl.me/ckCOfq6Hggu
More than ever, the Chromebook market is overflowing with options - from convertibles to tablets to gaming Chromebooks, it can be tough to sort out one Chromebook from the next. And for devices like the Asus Chromebook CM34 Flip, I'd say the ability to stand out in the crowd is even more difficult. It's a convertible that does most things quite well and gets those thing right without breaking the bank. As a $500+ Chromebook, it would struggle to get your attention. But at a reduced price of $300 multiple times since its launch, this device is wildly great, and should be on your short list for certain. Let's talk about why.

Just delivered and set-up. This device is amazing - great call by the Chrome Unboxed team!
Is the battery backup good?
Long time watcher first time commenter, thank you for your clear unbiased reviews been looking at different chromebooks for about 3 months and I have finally made my decision and ordered my self an Asus chromebook cm 34 flip for a bargin price off £300 (uk) I am looking g forward to it arriving and having a portable powerhouse to do all my work and streaming on. Regards from the Nordic Jedi
Hi there! How is it holding up so far?
A fine and informative review! Just pulled the trigger at Best Buy. This replaces my 5+ year old Pixel book i5. This is a heck of a deal! Thanks Robby from NKY.
Hey Chuck, how have you found it since purchase?
@@GaaGaaGaaGaaGaaGaa2 it's fairly heavy however performing and utility are excellent. Battery life is strong. Great port assortment. The display is excellent. This machine also received "Chromebook Plus".
Yes. I am sold as well. I love ASUS Chromebooks. I had the C302C, then the C4400, 13 inch that looks like 14 inch, because of no bars around the display. I am still using that one. And I recently acquired the C4300. All after reviews from Chrome Unboxed. It will take about a year before this machine comes to the EU, to Amsterdam, by then the price will be way down and I will score it then. I love the marine / navy like color.
I bought it for school and TH-cam, as well as light work. Really good, overall I love mine.
I was thinking of the HP x360 or Lenovo Flex 5i (both in Chromebook Plus editions), and saw this one (also in the Chromebook Plus edition) sitting next to the Lenovo at Best Buy. I was immediately drawn in by the color, and I'm in love with the demo model they had, but said "I have to watch the Chromebook Unboxed review before I decide." I'm sold! Now just waiting the next day or so until I get my holiday bonus to rush out and get it!
Great review. What about the AUE date ? Vital information before purchasing..
This would be perfect for writing on the go when I don't want to carry my bigger laptop.
I love that this has speakers that fire away from the keyboard. Some may consider this "downward firing" but is the opposite. When using it for media consumption the assumption is you'll have the keyboard flipped over so the speakers will be behind the screen firing upwards. If you have speakers that fire in the direction of the keyboard, it'll fire downwards in media consumption mode, which is even you want maximum speakers
i was able to snag this from a slick deal post for 270 open box locally, cant beat it!
I liked how FydeOS (Chrome OS) works on my old MacBook Air, it’s a thin, pleasant-to-touch device and at the same time very cheap. Will Asus provide such tactile sensations?
Chrome Unboxed. ThanksMuch!
I'd love to see you do a "desk setup" video with a chrome box! If you've done it already, sorry, I'm new to the channel 😅
4lbs weight wtf Asus, are there stones hidden inside
Lol it's heavy, but damn it works. I have one.
My asus c214 flip weighs around 1kg. It also supports touch.
@@aakashdeepmondal1480 I refuse to look at a 11.6" 1366x768 screen, we're not savages. It didn't look good in 2010 but it's a disgrace in 2023
Just got the ASUS Chromebook CZ12 Flip, and the Mediatek processor makes it a game-changer. Smooth multitasking, all-day battery life - perfect for both work and play.
Just of curiosity, how were you hooking up your external monitor? Straight hdmi to hdmi from the monitor or via a usb-c adapter to the Chromebook?
Does Borealis run on the Radeon iGPU? Are we going to get any RDNA Ryzen chips in Chromebooks soon?
very interested to see if you guys get in a 7520c powered device with 16gb ram, thats appealing to me very muchly as a replacement for my pixelbook go i5.
Got this for $240 open box best buy. Love it. There was nothing even close spec wise for that price.
Was it basically new? Open box?
@@chasitychilds6920 yeah, I've had great experience with open box best buy stuff. Basically new, I think they're just usually customer returns so they sell that a decent discount.
I have this and I bought it about a month ago, I do really like it but it has a problem where in the Chrome browser the screen flickers sometimes. Not sure if it's a software issue with the Chrome browser or a hardware problem Since it appears to only happen in the Chrome browser I suspect not a hardware problem. Maybe in an update, it will be fixed.
Have you reviewed the Ryzen 5 version of this?
Does it work with a stylus? would have liked to know that. Otherwise a very good review. 9.5/10 (okay, 9.9, just let me know about the stylus access please.)
Does this support USI, and if so, does it support 1 or 2? I recently got one, and I like it so far, but I was curious if it supported that feature and I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
Do you know what stylus pen is compatible with this Chromebook?
wow video i still my mom's old hp laptop
$300 sounds fantastic
The asus chromebook cm14 flip has up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB SSD, which provides ample storage and fast data transfer speeds and operating quality performance with the mediatek chip
Does anyone know how these laptop speakers would perform on a surface like a bed or something similar? I tend to do a lot of homework and watch shows and movies in bed rather than on a hard, flat surface.
It's priced at 706 USD in my country from Asus website 😮
Will steam eventually work on this device too ?
Does this support a USI 2.0 pen 🖊 ?
So guys I have this same laptop. It won’t charge or turn on though after using for a couple months. Can anyone help me?
Question: would you get this over the Chromebook Spin 713 Convertible | CP713-3W?
The Spin 713 is much better. The only problem is Google won't allow it to get the Plus update because it's an 11th gen processor.
How much is the exact price?
Great content. Lenovo my fav
Thx mate 🥃
I pulled the trigger in this couple weeks ago. I was hoping for a review on this one, but I had seen enough of your great reviews to make a good call in this.
This is replacing a Samsung Chromebook. I keep a Chromebook to help manage my dads online things.
Not disappointed for its intended use, and will hopefully last a long while.
There are claims it is “military grade” Can confirm it is a tank.
It is really a budget friendly device that comes with the mediatek chipset and longer battery life
I have the lenovo ip slim 3 chrome 14m868, and well, i now dont really like it.
The screen and speakers are good enough.
But for game pass, it's rather useless due to incompatibility with my wired controllers. Which shouldn't be an issue, tbh because the one i have is even xbox Licensed. But it doesn't work in ingame, and the camera keeps spinning left without me being able to fix this.
The game pass would've been my main purpose for the chromebook.
the good performance is probably tied to the Radeon iGPU with the Ryzen. Windows 11 runs great
I wanted the Samsung Chromebook 2 forall it does and it's specs. I missed that sale and the Samsung is $699 again. I'll buy open box but not used.
So this seemed to do everything the Samsung can besides a little less quality screen for half the price of the older Samsung Chromebook 2
Can anybody help with a compatible USI stylus ?
I got this the other day plugged it up to the charger overnight. It turns off as soon as I unplug it and the power button won't turn it on, any ideas as to what's going on?
Broken
Yea I returned it and got something else thanks tho
Looks decent
just ordered one for $262 open box
Can anyone tell me, is this a Chromebook Plus?
No. It isn't. If it was, they would have mentioned. On a chromebook plus, its writer chromebook plus
Weight doesn't bother me. My old laptop is 5.3lbs, so to me the 4lb is fine.
Time for a "what i use at my desk" video. Chromebook? Mouse? Keyboard? Display? Accessories? etc.
I think c34 chromebook is better, it has a kompanio chipset and is very efficient tasker
Budget Friendly?
899€ directly from Asus?
That's so sad, for euroland....
Since they are giving them away in Cracker Jack boxes here...
They really need to invent the teleporter now.
Id take two.@@nc3826
Utilizing the Mediatek Komapnio processor, Asus has unveiled the CZ12 Flip, a new Chromebook with military-grade durability. They have definitely advanced.
😃👍🏻👊🏻
Gift me a Chromebook, my long time desire to use a Chromebook. 😢
More of the same..
You know another good sign as to where the future of Chromebook is heading is the fact that Costco is giving up on Chromebooks for the most part.
Didn't they just stock super old ones? Pretty irrelevant. Seems like they're doing just fine at Best Buy.
@@kennymccormick8295 negative Ghost Rider.
For a long time Costco had current Chromebooks. In fact, this very channel used to mention them being at Costco.
The fact that Costco is given up on Chromebooks is a pretty good sign as to how Chromebooks are selling
@bobsimmons1470 Glad you admitted you were wrong. Thanks.
@@kennymccormick8295 I mean dude come on. Why are you even playing? So easily proven wrong
@@kennymccormick8295 Costco currently has 4 Chromebooks on their website.
Last year they had upwards of 20.
COSTCO. HAS. GIVEN UP. ON. CHROMEBOOKS
Its sad that you cant even watch dvds with cromebooks
you can't be serious
You can
A cheap USB DVD drive with VLC plays just fine
I hate it when there's no cd drive on my MacBook air, samsung laptop, or literally any other laptop.
Darn,
Dang it,
Drat,
^
Please comment more words to show the rage I feel towards laptops not having something for the past 10 years
usb drives exist@@reggiefils-aime9798
I have a question why Chromebooks don’t use AMD processors😂😂😂😂
it's just on the horyzen
Kinda useless due to only bestbuy selling it.
Yeah, you can throw a lot of stuff at a Chromebook. That's because a Chromebook can't do nearly the stuff that a Mac or a PC can do.
I would argue that 2023 has been the most underwhelming year in terms of Chromebook releases.
LMFAO
@@nc3826 okay okay I stand corrected.
If you're 6 years old, a Chromebook can handle everything you throw at
