  • An absolutely fantastic Indycar race took place over the weekend in Alabama! We get into all that went on over the weekend, who made big mistakes, who made their strategy work best. We had a great friend of the show Jacob Abel win his first Indy NXT race down in Alabama so congrats to him and his team.
    There is still LOTS to chat about regarding all that went on at Team Penske over the last week and a half. This is our first episode after all the news came out and there are many conflicting opinions on everything still so we will give you our takes on the situation and feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments as well. Scotty Mac is also here to discuss his dominant victory. I did try to ask just a couple questions about their infringement and how things will go moving forward.
    As always thanks for checking out the show!

    I'm late to the party as I'm working my way through your podcasts. I'm here because of your mention of it at the victory banquet. That being said, I have serious doubts the P2P scandal would have received as much traction had it not been Penske and his drivers. I think if Linus Lundqvist wins the race and they discover this it may get a mention and we move on. I totally agree though that "any press is good press". People at work have been asking me since it happened, who are not even fans, about what it is. I'm the Indy car guy at work, 48 years of going to the 500 has made me the office "expert". Oh, and Steve Chassey is still alive. You may even run into him at CB's someday.

    I like NASCAR, and I've been a fan for years, but I love what Chase said. "IndyCar is more Winston than NASCAR these days." IndyCar doesn't mess around with playoffs, stage breaks, or overtime, and I love that. IndyCar puts on great races, and I'm optimistic that TV viewership will eventually catch up. Keep up the good work Conor.

    Attending St.Pete this year got me hooked on Indy. I am 100% behind US Open Wheel and have slowly stopped watching F1 as the competition gets worse. I think I've gotten three-four people to tune in and watch Indy this season, it's not a lot but I am trying to help show people what a great product INDYCAR has.

    I am happy that 100 Days to Indy is back! But... I have a problems with Season 2, Episode 1 from that episode.
    I am aware that the show is about preparing the Indy 500 in 100 days, but I wish the show brought up what happened to the rest of the 2023 IndyCar season after the 500. Like Josef sweeping Iowa, Kyle's Nashville win, Dixon's return to victory lane and winning races again, Palou's championship, and other major highlights.
    What if the people who are watching the show want to know what happened to IndyCar after the 500 ended?
    I am not saying they should make em by episodes, but at least do a short recap of what happened after the 2023 Indy 500 in some parts of the episode before we go to St. Pete. What if the people who watch the show only (if that was the case) did not know they still race after the 500? What if they want to know more after the 500?
    Maybe it's me? But then again, they do talk about the first 5 races of the season before the 500.

  • @tybrody3718
    @tybrody3718 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Regarding the viewership, the INDYCAR schedule is too inconsistent to attract the casuals or someone who might be a little interested. I thought Kenny Wallace nailed it in one of his recent podcasts, I believe he was quoting JR who said "the NFL leaves you wanting more". INDYCAR needs to have around 15 races on as many consecutive weekends as possible. Planning, travel, some type of All-Star weekend break, we need the season to feel like a season.
    Kenny Wallace told Andretti that he wasn't even aware of the Long Beach GP. As he said, the racing is too good to not know about.

    35:25 I've been yelling at the TV for the past year that McLaren needs to step it up. I know last year was a big year from an organizational standpoint but it's time to start cashing in on the talent. I love that Pato drives the way that he does but he also needs to figure out when to take what he can get. Not sure how to feel about Little Dave leaving the team. Auto racing is such a niche sport to begin with, it's a love hate thing where many just think it's dumb, like my EX Girlfriend... 😂 she never once came to my son's QM races, good riddance!
