There's never been a government who represent the people. They've always been the henchmen of the psychopathic elites who own the world banks, energy companies, pharmaceutical cartels etc. Parliament and voting is just a smoke screen to make it look like we have a say in what happens to us.

It's the Labour Party that traditionally have been the keenest backers of the BBC as the politicians have much less control over the press over accurate reporting of such matters as "massaging" the immigrant numbers coming into the country, etc.etc.
BBC doesn't need to be "manipulated" - just keep silent, then no-one can accuse anyone of anything.!!!

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again if people truly want to stop the BBC then mass cancellation of licence fee payments is what’s going to get their attention and that of the government just imagine if even two thirds of people who pay suddenly stopped the BBC would be crippled (I was going to say pointless but it oreads is)

More to the point why does a license fee still exist - I cancelled mine in December - I don't watch live TV and I certainly don't watch anything produced by the BBC I think their news is biased anyhow. So I don't have Iplayer, I have Netflix, Discovery +, Prime and Disney more than I could ever need and I can watch it when I want to and pause it when the dogs bark or the mobile rings and easily pick up anything from where I left it. Live TV is going the way of the Dodo in my opinion - I have even put a sign up outside my house saying No License Needed and spreading the word to all that knock on my door - I,ve had the first letter which only took 7 days telling me there has been a problem with my direct debit LMAO - not a problem - I cancelled it

Nothing could be worse than the grating mindless chuntering of Fearne Cotton on Radio 1 or presenting music coverage on TV. Her interview style was to ask closed questions, e.g. “so x you’re performing at x huge event, ARE YOU EXCITED???” TRULY PATHETIC. Completely stunk up and ruined live pop music TV coverage during my youth. How they still have the nerve to talk about quality after so many years of pushing that empty vessel, I do not know 🤷‍♂️

If they were to update their set up sayvfor instance like SKY subscription, this means I wouldn't get access to BBC for free. So I for one hope they don't change the licence fee because its so easy to avoid!

Back in the days before cable, satellite, and the Internet we were told we needed a licence to receive TV and radio signals. Interesting that the licence for broadcasting was about £10 a year to take up bandwidth on the airwaves yet to just receive the signals was many times that amount. Clearly not a licence in any technical fashion especially since they reworded the licence requirements to accommodate modern technologies.
