  • Brennan tells a story about how a good Samaritan helped him with money for dental surgery. I included a clip of how Brennan was able to pay them back and another of one way Brennan pays it forward.
Adventuring Party is a talkback show about Dimension 20 and can be viewed with a subscription to Dropout. Watch the episode at this link: www.dropout.tv/dimension-20-s-...

I hate to kill the mood, but am I the only one who finds this really troubling? It's one of the best stories I've ever heard, but it's also a story about a talented, passionate, caring person who-- if not for a run of astounding luck --may have never moved past part-time bartending gigs and unpaid improv. For Brennan Lee Mulligan to make a full-time career of his art (and for us to get the great media he's helped make), he needed to:
    A) Encounter the most charitable bar manager on the planet
    B) Literally win a game show
Aside from illustrating how difficult it is for many people to escape poverty, this (admittedly awesome) story is a case study in how the "free market" kills art.

It also created the services like patreon or subscribestar that has taken this backing power out of the hands of those same elites. Someone has to see value in the art for the artist to expect it to be a valuable profession, that will never change, what can change is where the dictation of who and how many peoples art can be seen to determine if it has value.

I found out about this guy when I was just recently discovering this wonderful game called Dungeons and Dragons. I started watching Critical Role only two year back or so, and through that found out about Matthew Mercer, which at the time, felt like the greates DM I've seen. Fast forward to me finding out about Matthew being in a show called Dimension 20, a show hosting a campaign called Escape From the Bloodkeep, where he plays a character instead of DMing a game.
And there I was, thinking to myself, how ballsy do you have to be and how good do you think you are to DM in front of Matthew Mercer? So here I am, with high expectations, watching Brennan do the intro and boy he went above and beyond. And I've watched him do skits at College Humor and other stuff as well.
That's the story of how this guy inspires creativity in me. And I never would have guess that he had this experience on his belt. Truly amazing. 💖

Brennan is literally the kind of person I aspire to be, and so are many of the people working at Dropout. It's such a shame that the majority of a generation of teenage boys are looking up to Andrew Tate and his "alpha bros" instead of Brennan Lee Mulligan, and the others at Dropout. Such brilliant people all round.
Also Ronan, the bar owner guy, he is such a rare type of person, being so giving and expecting nothing in return. He is also a role model for me despite not knowing anything about him other than what Brennan has said in his story.
