Honestly, I’d like to believe that the Dark Forest was going to involve James & Bill and, y’know, violent specters of all the dead pirates, but Chungledown bent Fabian’s nightmare around him the instant he entered, and the Forest had to use the Sexy Rat as a backup support.

I've watched this clip a few times over the years, but it's the first time I've noticed the millionaire host referring to Brennan as "a very recent bachelor". Harsh.

it showed a lot of compassion for brennan to emphasize that the game show was the only way he could’ve afforded to pay the manager back, given the “nobody ever gives it back” that comes later. he’s not shaming anyone else or putting itself on a moral pedestal- some people just get a lucky break ETA- ofc, brennan absolutely deserved the lucky break he got

Just so everyone knows, Chungledown is as of now, before Junior Year, actively hunting for Fabian. He is a Level 20 Fiend Warlock, has over 200 HP, 14 STR, 16 DEX, 20 CON, 20 CHA, 18 INT and 16 WIS, he has a familiar he can duplicate, countless spells to hurt or trap Fabian, amongst them Power Word Stun. He was powerful enough to get into and survive the Forest of the Nightmare King. And he can run up to 90mp/h.

Dude works at a camp just so he can give the money he earns from it to send more kids to camp. Thats crazy

its interesting to consider that as a pirate by trade, Chungledown probably has been climbing rigging his whole life, so it's entirely believable he has some superhuman climbing ability

There is a fascination for me here. On one hand that hypercompetetive 'My position/income/status is better than yours' US bring forth these incredible stories of individuals like Brennans former Boss supporting others in need. And also wild stories like the D&D kid from Hells Kitchen who almost couldn't afford surgery winning money on who wants to be a millionair moving to LA and living his dream to play D&D for a living. But also... that any of these 'wonderous miracles' are even needed. That your health and life for a simple infection could hang in the balance. That once you realize you're sick you now need to work expondentially more to be treated so you can actually keep working. That the only realistic way to chase that dream to move to LA and try to be part of that community is a frankly miracolous influx of money...

being real, Fabian's would I think be by far the worst thing as far as thr nightmare forest trials our boy has to let a man he is terrified if come over, squat over his mouth and shit into despite not wanting to unsurprisingly AND he has to let a demon rat thing that he finds terrifying and disgusting r**e him without fighting back at all like its real funny but when you apply the real world its perhaps the most fucked up thing the forest had for any of them/d20 has had for any character
