great review. do you feel someone with a 11-13 HC could play the 245's? Thanks

I sure do. This iron despite being labeled a "pro" model is still forgiving.

The 245s look the part, but are very similar to the jpx forged. Made for mid to high HDC golfers.

if you're a decent ball striker - sure.

How do you feel about the roll out after landing? I currently play 921 tour and looking for more forgiveness in the longer irons but the stopping power of these looks slightly lacking vs the 243 I think.

243s and 245s don't have the spin the tours do, nor the descent angle. If you're good enough to play the tour, you should stick with them and just practice the long irons more imo.

@@xBlade173 thanks for your input! I love them and you’re right. I guess I’m searching for a solution that doesn’t kill me on a bad day.

Don't pay attention to the roll out with an iron on trackman. Total is misleading imo until you get a wood in your hands. We try to get 5-7 yards between carry and total with a 7 iron and have confirmed that stops how it should outdoors.

The 245 comes with the DG Mid 115 as the stock shaft and I'm been using the Project X LZ (6.0 and 5.5). Are there any big difference between the two shafts?

I hit both shafts and the DG 115 felt the best for my swing. I ended up going graphite in the MMT 105 TX which is 113g in weight. Free upgrade in those shafts too which is sweet. I believe Titleist charges $54 a club for the same shaft and TM might be around $15 a club.

@@CPBuilds Nice! I do love Mizuno’s offering of shafts for no upcharge. I ended up with the Project X LZ 5.5 (hardstepped) in the 245 as I’m very familiar with that shaft. Can always reshaft down the road.

@@gary-gt-tsang Ya that's one reason why I like to stick with Mizuno. Free shaft upgrades, on most, irons. Can't beat it.
