it's one of the more cringe worthy contracts for sure.... Copp could of been a lot better but had that major core surgery before starting with the wings.... best thing we can hope for is to buyout the contract next year or trade him and retain some salary. We need to start making room for some of these prospects to make the jump into the NHL. I feel like Kasper could make the jump and play 3rd line center after another year in GR.
@@Kwritter66 Maybe Copp will get his act together this season but yeah, I'm cool with a buyout. Everyone thinks Yzerman can't make mistakes and when he does they hold his feet to the fire.
I would rather keep Kane in Detroit, but I wouldn't call it a "disaster" if he leaves. The reality is that we don't have a plan to win another Stanley Cup before he retires, and there are contending teams which have enough cap space to offer him a bigger contract than we can. The only reason why it would make sense for Kane to stay is if he simply wants to stay. He has said, even before coming here, that he really missed being teammates with DeBrincat. More recently, he said that he really likes the way Detroit"s organization is run, and that he is tired of changing teams so often. These would all be reasons for him to stay. How do they compare to getting more money and/or a better chance to win another Stanley Cup? Only Kane knows...

Losing Kane is going to suck. Do what you gotta do to keep him for 2 more years, so we can at least get to the playoffs, and get the young guys some experience.
I would love love love to keep Kane. However, I wouldn’t blame him if he went to NY. Dude probably wants a cup and unfortunately, we’re still about five years out. IMO
Guy is from Buffalo so makes sense to sign in NYC if he wants to settle down for his family. Yes he has said many times now there's unfinished business in NY. If he signs as a Ranger he wont get 5mill aav but more like 3.5-4 aav for 3 years maybe 2.
There is 0 chance Kane gets 3.5m for 4 years. You should never give 35 year olds 4 year term. It’s more like 2.5m at 2 years at the most. He may get slightly more if signs 1 year.
Take a chance on him if he's cheap. Give him 3 yrs 2mil per. If he don't work out with ck and 93 move laff up and put him wit VT and bread. Kane seems to be motivated. Worth the risk.
I’m absolutely on board with this. Same with Vladimir Tarasenko.
I will be catatonic if Steve lets Kane go

I can't believe the Wings have Copp under contract at 5.6M for the next 3 years, but are balking at giving Kane a similar contract.
Different time, different player. Signing Copp was no guarantee. But neither is resigning Kane.

I believe Kane is going to stay. Lots of smoke and mirrors right now.
Let’s hope.
I hope so... The Rangers don't need him...
@stenco-eh1hd this aged well bud. 💀

Kane stay in mo town New York is for losers!
Yeah as a Red Wings fan I'm irritated by this whole thing not gonna lie..😅 Stevie definitely better work his magic.. i know he WILL..
The Wings resigning him, may not be the magic you think it is.
I kinda meant that in the sense of, " since we lost him, he better find a replacement and some more to help out Larkin"
Wings just traded Walman to sign Kane
Is that true?!
Idk haha. Steve cleared cap space for some reason. Wings have 33mil in cap space right now, lots of directions he can go.
@@RedWingsFanClub ; I hope he stays with Detroit! We almost made the playoffs this year because of some of the help he gave us

hahaha kane at 2 mill. youre off by at least +3 mill.
is teravainen talking about going back to chicago i heard something like that i think
Please Remember Kaner will always be a Blackhawk and only Chicago has the right to call him Kaner. Kane for the rest of you
I will be a little upset if Detroit loses Patrick Kane
Id give Kane 4x3
Showtime belongs in NY
Bet he stays. To me kane and his agents comments are pure "Im getting max value" nothing more.
If Kane signs with the Rangers. Seider and Raymond will send him a thank you. More money for their contracts.
If I was Kane. I'd try and go back to Chicago to play out my career there.
Kane and Toffoli to Rangers..
Kane would be a decent signing for 2 years knowing that he should be a third line winger. I think he stays in Detroit.
