    Making your own gear used to be big around 2000 on the internet, now it's all about shilling product. Great stuff you made. Especially the rope cutter!

    Well those are some great ideas. Back when I was younger and into backpacking and hunting I enjoyed making my stuff. For me the store bought stuff was good but it never quite did everything I wanted it to so I would make what would work for me. Like you I looked at the sterno stove and said what great little wood stove which I also use with my alcohol stove. Do have to laugh a little when you said you had to turn the ac off here in north Idaho we got an inch of snow last night🙂#542. Just getting over a back surgery so will have plenty of time to watch your other videos.

    Pretty nice video, for me one of the best of yours, thanks Dave! 👏 Really great ideas for camping and travelling.
    Did you ever deal with bronze/brass wire? Here in Philippines I found some pretty nice wire and already made two bracelets out of it, and now I would like to try forge some fork out of it as well - should be nice and vintage, haha, at least I hope on it 🤞
    I really like your bushcraft roll. Actually for me the amount of tools looks more then enough, but if you want Dave, you can also make some hook blade, like you know the skinning hook in a back of some hunting knifes (such a “buck zipper” and etc.) But up to you.
    So thanks again so much for all your videos. God bless you and your home 🙏🏻

      @blademan175  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Thanks, your bracelets sound nice. I made some pendants last year with wire wrapping on shells and stones, never any bracelets with wire. I think your fork will be pretty cool. I like the gut hook blade idea, thanks!

    Hello! 1st time viewer here, these tools you made are awesome!!
    Just an idea for the Bushcraft Roll - might be nice to add a few different files, maybe a flat one, round one... or maybe an awl, but your drill might be basically the same thing.
    I really enjoyed watching your video, I sub'd!

    This is cool! Do you sell your tools that you make? My husband thinks I'm crazy camping with all kinds of tools. Would love something like that! Since I do all the "camping" jobs and cooking around camp, I want convience as to making a camp a home away from home!

    Very nice, thank you. One question: What guage aluminum plate are you using for some of your projects.

    • @blademan175
      @blademan175  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The tripod bracket is 1/8” aluminum plate. I think the stove stand is 1/16”. I really just use whatever scraps I have on hand. I have a roll of 24 gauge I use a lot. Thanks for watching!

    Hi There, great video, is there any way of finding out the make of the reciprocating saw handle, it looks to be of better quality than some on the market today, I have been unable to find one the same.

    • @blademan175
      @blademan175  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I tried and was unable to. The closest one to it was an older snap on brand. It was same color and knob so I think mine is a copy of that one. I saw it in a video only.

    Nice job on shovel. Tougher to make but a file,and or adapting a diamond sharpener from something like the Fiskars u can get at Walmart. Could not find line cutting blade on line. Do u have a number or exact model? Thanks

    • @blademan175
      @blademan175  12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Sorry, took a minute to recall. In the ultimate walking stick video about the 12 minute mark I talk about small plastic clips and how I made them. Hope that helps you. I had a jig for the holster clips but just made it with wood scraps, knocked out a couple dozen and chucked the jig. My latest video….a unique folder slip has a pvc clip I made. Thanks!

    I can tell you why many of your designs have not been copied and reproduced in large quantities. Too many extra features and attention to detail. You, Sir, are a perfectionist and a committed DIYer. I took an early retirement in the Republic of the Philippine Islands well over a decade ago. We can purchase many items that are made in this region inexpensively due to trade deals between nations. When you decide to purchase a quality electrical item or tools with the idea to "buy it once and cry once," there will be import fees, VAT taxes, and customs fees on top of an inflated price. That is one of the downsides on EXpat life.
    DIYing is the order of the day here. During family practice sessions, we test the gear we make, and ready ourselves for disasters that may one day occur. We sure have fun during our test sessions. We have many skilled craftsmen in the PH but you may have to wait a long time to get them. With young ones in school, we often can not wait for common repairs and I put on my repairman hat! We remain active. This was the first of your videos I have seen. Thank you for producing great content. I will whack the subscribe button and hit the like next.

      You, my friend, are why I do these videos, not for the compliments but for people who enjoy making things. I get so many ideas from TH-cam but then I like to make it my own and improve on it and then pay it forward by making a video. Thank you sincerely for your praise and subscribing!
