  • In this episode, we will be looking a creating a new chuck key for the vertical chuck I have set up on the 3040 CNC (see more here: diy3dtech.com/purchase-3040-cn... ). However in the process I make a novice error in creating CAM tool pathing! Ouch!
Also if you looking for a crazy affordable 5 Axis (yes you read that correctly) CNC, then check these out: diy3dtech.com/affordable-5-axi...
One of the handiest tools as a maker I have is the CO2 laser as they are VERY affordable, check these out for yourself: diy3dtech.com/purchase-laser/

Great work as usual. Good to see it all worked out in the end, and It's great to see what unforseen things can happen and your description of why it did is much appreciated.

That's a really good idea. I'll probably make one in steel at some point.

Not sure what cam software your using but. That program could have been written by hand in less then 5 min and would have been less than 5 to run.

Cut 2D and if you write Gcode all day long your right, however I don't :-)

@@DIY3DTECHcom Your correct, I hope I didn't come across as too negative. In my mind the code is quite simple, however, It actually requires an advanced programing method. Titans of cnc vlog #51 some what demonstrates the method I would use, however you would be stepping down not up and only the z axis would change each run which means you could program the path in absolute mode and just switch to G91 for the last move in the sub
