So glad you cruised with Azamara! I’ve had them on my future list for a year now. Attracted to the smaller, cozier feeling.
Hi Jan. This was our 3rd Azamara (see the end screen of this video or our channel for the other series (Med & S. America), and we quit liked it!
WE truly enjoy small-ship cruising.. pretty sure you'd love it!
Thanks for showing this beautiful ship. I like the idea that it doesn't have a large number of passengers.
You’re welcome, Joan. We quite like small ship for certain!
An awesome ship indeed! Always enjoy taking in a walk around the deck and taking in those awesome ocean views. From what I understand, some of the larger ships may not even have those decks now. Everything looks so lovely and tidy and clean! You had yourselves an awesome trip!
We quite like the small ships. Just the right amount of entertainment without being too large. Those larger ships don't walways come with a full promenade deck, that's quite true.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for showing us around this lovely little ship. You can’t beat smaller ship cruising can you? I liked the design and I can see some spots which would become my regular place on board. Nice to see you are keeping up the tradition of product testing every pool burger 😂 Another great addition to your portfolio of ship tours on your channel.
Thank you, Pete! We really like small ships. lol- yes, one can't go without a pool deck burger on boarding day!
Great ship tour as usual wonderfully filmed
Thank you, guys :)
Brilliant video Bob & Holly. The Atlas Bar looked absolutely fantastic and not sure why they don’t do them on all the Azamara ships. We could definitely see ourselves spending a lot of time in there.
Thanks for watching, guys! it’s a really good question and I think it was made as a concept bar, and they had time to do it since they had taken over the ship as it used to be Pacific Princess-
We were on board with the Corporate Food and Beverage Director, and I got to spend a lot of time talking to him - there is a plan to do that with the other three ships. Next time they go into a long drydock.
That venue features pretty heavily in the episodes coming up, and especially in episode four. It’s an amazing space.
Much anticipated . Even more appreciated 😊
I think you'll like the brand, Warren. It's not a RSSC product of course, but much more afforbable.
@@InnocentsAbroad I will discuss with the “boss”😀. Thanks
Awesome ship tour, we really love your style of videos and enjoy watching 👏😍
Azamara ships are a bit old, but overall in good shape. I do love the R-Class; though they aren't full of venues, the intimacy and access to unique ports more often than not makes up for it. Thanks for commenting!
@@InnocentsAbroad we liked the small intimate feel and the quality of food and of course getting into the smaller ports.
Hello Bob and Holly. Love this ship tour video. Brings back all the great memories and amazing people we met , like both of you . ❤️ It was such a wonderful cruise ship and cruise.
Thank you, Jacki! It was a bunch of fun with everyone. Hope to sail with you guys again :)
Great video! Charge for food in that one bar?? Not too inclusive. Ugliest entrances to specialty dining I’ve ever seen! Not bad for an older ship, but too much brown & orange, & small coffee shop. Hate that long yellow couch. Doesn’t look like adequate seating in Living Room to me. Nice pool deck & track above, though that orange again.😂 Nice pool bar and grill (though bar stools look uncomfortable), and MDR looks adequate. Glad service was good. Loved the Smokey Scottish fashioned drink!
Thank you!
Yes, yes it’s basically like chargeable snacks, or a light meal, and you can definitely make the case that they could charge more for the cruise and then just consider the whole thing inclusive.
I don’t disagree with you about the cosmetic on the doors, they are older ships, but there’s nothing posh about their entrances whatsoever!
Actually, I think the Living Room has a decent amount of seating, because not everyone is up there at the same time.
It is a very small class of ship, but it never felt crowded.
We are booked for Jan 24, 2025 south Pacific, and considering starting on leg Jan 6 from San Diego to Papeete. Do you think 30+ days will get boring on a small ship like Onward?
Hi Linda,
Boring... not for the most part, but, bear in mind that's a decent amount of sea days, so if you don't want to sit in a lounge with a good book and/or tasty beverage, it -could- be an issue. This is a club-casual line. Excellent food, great staff, but 32,000 GT. All that sea time, there will be some chill to be had.
If you take this cruise, contact me a few weeks or more in advance (see our channel for contacts, email, IG or our FB group are best), and we'd be happy to meet you. SD is our home!
@@InnocentsAbroad I think we have decided 95% to go, but the prices jumped in the last three weeks. I was looking at a Veranda for about $12,500 (I have 7171 for the second Leg) and now the entry veranda is $16k!!! I would do a window view if it were a shorter journey, but I need fresh air.... so what's a girl to do?
