I laughed so loudly when "Trisha's gone" was said. Because before I was "Well it can't be a child fell out...I mean that would be too terrible!" My cat actually ran off my lap as I was laughing too much for her comfort. "Food bringer had finally lost it!"
I love the recurring characters so much. Was that the can of peaches guy telling the toddler to move out of the way, as he’s on his way to a meeting? 😂
Haha! Loved that you shared this story Lauren! My mom was the older sister, Trina. The part of the story that always got me though was how they got off the freeway and were at the paper store when the guy showed up with Tricia… and afterward they just went inside to buy the paper! 😂
Im 💀 🤣 between the suspicious 🤨 face of never been clear what the papers were, Georgia freaking out and pausing the animation and the change of facial expression of the parents when they heard Trisha is gone, I cannot deal.

When I first heard this one in the minisode I was like yup that’s going to be an awesome Nick Terry creation and 100% that was amazing! The way these are brought to life with his animation is the coolest!
My dad totally did this in the 80s. he put folding chairs with bungee cords attached to the walls. He stopped fast and we flipped and the watermelons in the back hit us in the face. good times
My husband have been talking about building that barrier between the front seats and the rest of our minivan since our kids were little! We were going to call it Shut the Truck Up! Now they are teens and never talk.
OMG, I thought my family was the only one this happened to. My sister fell out a side door into a very busy street as my mom turned the corner. Hilarious to tell the story now knowing she didn’t get hurt.
My father had court ordered visitation when he lived in San Diego & mom was in Los Angeles. Mom agreed to it based on the assumption that he would use his second wife's sedan to get us home, but the sedan needed some work, so daddy dearest siphoned gas into his truck & drove us up the I-5. I rode in the back like cargo. People driving past us looked at me with a combination of horror and apathy.
Straight up can confirm the back door VW van thing. My mom would always warn me to not mess around with that door. Which of course I did. I never fell out but the door opened more than once.
This happened to my brother too! In a VW van in the 80s. But it was the side door. The side door just came right off while he was on it. It was the 80s, of course we weren't wearing seat belts. He just went over to the door and the door came off and he flew right into traffic. We happened to be right at the turn to a hospital so we just went there.
