I was out shopping for sneakers. I found a pair I liked, but was unsure on the color. Out of nowhere comes a little girl who says, “Get the pink ones. I love the pink ones.” So I did, and I love them, too.
Y'ALL!!! I literally saw this Surprise Grandma a few days ago, right before Christmas. She looked *exactly* like Nick's animation, down to the reddish sweater. I was on a run in my sister's neighborhood (where I don't know anyone and they certainly don't know me), and as I'm coming down the street, she is rolling her trash can to the curb, stops until I'm about to pass her, and freaking CHEERS ME ON!! She said, "Girl, you are LIVING LIFE!" and I'll be damned if I didn't finish that run with a big smile on my face. Surprise Grandma is real and she makes the world a better place. I hope to *be* a Surprise Grandma when I'm older.
I think my mum is a Surprise Grandma, she’s 80 and will literally talk to anyone in any shop, at the bus stop, in the doctor’s waiting room etc. I wouldn’t put it past her to recommend pajamas to strangers.
I definitely had a "surprise Grandma". (Let's call her Baba). Baba always carried a copy of my latest report card in her purse to show off to any poor soul stuck behind her in line @ KMart (or the bank, grocery store etc.). Kindergarten through grad school. She was dedicated.❤
I had a moment like that last night! Which was my birthday, no less. An older woman winked at me at the movies, it was a whole thing but the gist of it is, Surprise Grandma is pretty great. (Or Surprise Aunt, depending on your age )
Santa brought both my husband and I matching red plaid pjs this year. It just became a new family tradition. Everyone should have soft flannel pjs for Christmas.
If either of my grandmothers were still alive today, I'd love to imagine them chatting up random strangers about the wonderful socks we all just received from Gottschalks.
i got into a car accident at the beginning of September and almost died lol (it's not funny but laughing through the trauma..) and ironically was listening to mfm when the accident happened. i haven't listened since but this made me want to start again so thank you Nick (:
Go to your local thrift shops and buy everyone a cheap cheesy mug. My favorite was a cartoon dog peeing in the words “Multiple Myeloma”. 2nd place was Jack’s Oil & Tire. I spent 40$ on 29 people.
A lady at WinCo gave me a fullon sales pitch about these Scentsies scented christmas tree ornaments and was so excited they sold them at Winco because Walmart sold them for $2 more and didn’t have as much variety and OPENED one and made me SMELL it and all the while i am like what the fuck is happening I was adjacent to the display I didn’t even look at it before she popped up This was a bad surprise grandma, she was bad at this
