  • Installing new door bushings and pins in the 2002 Silverado 2500HD. Not that hard of a job but the two top pins don't usually want to come out very easily. I ended up using chisels to work the top pin out. I think they make a tool to remove these bushings.

      I think that is the limiting strap. They wear out too. You can spray some grease into the strap opening to get them to quiet down.

    Do you know what that single yellow wire is for in the fuse box? It should run into and somewhere through the engine bay, but mines disconnected and I don't know what it's for

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This truck appears to have an add on remote starter/alarm system and it use to have some aftermarket lights on it somewhere. I am guessing it's a wire for one of those things. I have not traced it.

  • @onegative8887
    @onegative8887 ปีที่แล้ว

    If u have a cherry picker (motor puller) u don’t have to unplug all those wires. … just roll window down and use an old fan belt to connect to the hook on motor puller. Tape good deal

    What ever the tool is for pressing them out, I'm wondering if a c clamp and over sized socket would to the trick?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tried that but our clamps have a ball at the end and they wanted to rotate crooked. I have the tool and will show it eventually. Probably could make one. It's not that complicated.

  • @westsideengine6120

    I had the same problem with my 02. Took it to a body shop and they replaced the bushings. 6 months later I had the same problem. My mechanic who has worked on GM stuff for years replaced the hinges and I haven't had issues since. He said the holes on the hinges are what wear and do not allow the bushings to seat properly.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your bushings don't fit in snug then the hole is worn out. I believe they have oversized bushings you can get. That is why you need to replace them asap.

    do you mind me asking how much you paid for the truck, I'm looking for a 2500hd but I think most are overpriced

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I paid $3000 for it and I wouldn't have paid anymore. Most comparable trucks around here are close to $5000. I guess a truck is only worth what someone else is willing to pay you for it.

    • @JohnDeere50d
      @JohnDeere50d 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mossman381 I agree, that's a $3,000 truck, trucks like that here people would be asking probably $6,500 and it's just insane, and then they won't move only but $500 on the price. that's why I haven't purchased one yet

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JohnDeere50d This guy was asking $4900 for it. A 2500HD is worth a little more. They have great frames and suspension parts that last a long time. Also with the gas motor you get the 4L80 and a bullet proof rear end. If they have a Duramax or 8.1 people think they have gold plated trucks :)

    • @JohnDeere50d
      @JohnDeere50d 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mossman381 there was a 2005 with the 8.1 with only 87,000 miles for $10,000 but I missed it. that seemed like a good deal for what others want for a 6.0. I need something to plow and haul a dump trailer and eventually a mini excavator. so that 8.1 would have been great I'm not sure it I would want a duramax because of the added maintenance and some problems the diesel engines have

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JohnDeere50d That 8.1 will suck the gas though. An 05 for $10k still seems like a lot to me.
