I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

Did anyone else notice the different models for alpha creatures? They look more formidable rather than just being a bigger glowing version of that original creature

It's just your imagination and the newer lighting playing tricks on you. These are the exact same models. Exact same animations too. Dinosaurs still slide around like they're on ice-skates half the time.
They need to add the wind, the trees are not moving at all which makes it feel weird
Well usually if there is fog there is no wind
But tropical island have wind and a lot of it

Happy with the ai improvements and wild babies but the creatures still don’t feel alive. It’s A LOT to ask but I’m really hoping they improve creature behavior. It’d add so much to survival and immersion. Maybe a mod will do it eventually
I imagine they are going to save advanced new behaviors for ark 2 so that dinos still behave the same as the ones from evolved in ascended

Ai improvement?
Overall a much needed improvement on everything. Just 2 things being that like other people I have seen said, is that they need to add some sort of wind or leaves moving to add just that little bit more of life to the foliage. The second this is that do alpha creatures have a different models they looked like they have a thicker neck ? And the proportions seem a little off.
yer I noticed that as well with the alpha's, though I'm still not a fan of that aura.
It’s only alpha creatures that have giant necks everything else is normal
The sheer Graphical jump is just amazing, but still, you still feel the uncanny, instantly recognizable map from seeing the original.

Hey Raas! Hate to bring down the mood during this much anticipated release, but could you maybe make a video on the whole snailgames-nitrado situation with the monopoly on servers and restrictions on self hosted dedicated servers? You have enormous reach in the Ark community, and what they're doing really isn't okay if you ask me.

I kinda miss the old map, feels way more primitive and immersive to use a some what realistic map and gps than just have it given to you on a plate
6:10 the waves do not affect the sheltered bay but are on the coast
I like that we can toggle a marker on our dinosaurs. Easier to know where they are. The marker appears on the map too.
Something I wish they would change is the way they u dismount Dino’s. I feel like if they made a 3-5 second animation for dismounting, there wouldn’t be as many accidents when getting off them. It would make it more realistic aswell
i can't wait to see crystal isles and aberration with all these improvements
I think they need to change more of the sound mechanics so it feels like a different game. Otherwise with the new graphics...just feels like a skin job. Change the sound FX will make a huge improvement!

Don't get to hyped and expect it to look as good or smooth. If they manage, you can be happy, but there are gfx glitches and lighting issues on the pc version and also ps5 is no rtx 3080.

I wouldn't get excited, if I were you. If the most powerful rigs are struggling to run this game at 40+ FPS, then consoles have no chance of any sort of stability.

Ironically, the snow biome is the one I personally see the biggest (and actually positive) difference between ASE and ASA. The missing wind makes ASA's green biomes actually look dead to me. ASA does look good at a glance, don't get me wrong. I am just searching for 40$ worth of improvement, because the gameplay ain't having it. Yes, you have S+ QOL improvements in the base game now, congratulations, but there is still the meshing issue, rafts still clip through any terrain and are a mess to build on and still be usable, animations are more or less exactly ASE, so no improvement there as well. I DO like the ruins they put around the lore sites. What I don't like, from a pure gameplay perspective is the immense addition of optical clutter in the caves. It does look nice on a first exploration, but for the grind... hell no. I want to see them dinos. From the first impressions I am not at all convinced, that the momentary state of the game is worth my money, even tho I really want to play ARK on an official server again.
And the dinos are mostly same models, same animations, just changed materials, upscaled textures with palette changes.
They changed most of the character animations like running jumping swimming gathering. You can turn down the graphics. And arguably the biggest upgrade which is better support for mods and console mods isn't in effect yet.

Ark got the Halo 2 treatment when it comes to remasters and I love it
In all honesty ASE isn't that bad when you crank up all settings and its very smooth on my rig. ASA is dog clutter stutter fest with a 3080ti trying to run it with max settings, yeah it can do it but you don't want to PVP and or go toe to toe with anything dangerous less the lag monster sucks your face off.
IMO it should be fixed soon, felt like a very rushed launch and would’ve been better if they would’ve just waited a few more days maybe even a couple weeks when console launches. I feel like everything would’ve been much more smooth
@@andersonstuckey6093 problem is, they can't really wait a relevant amount of time due to their contract with Nitrado. By 31th october they need to show at least some kind of a player base or they are in really hot water.
Oh and to add after perhaps 1.5 hours of playing I had a couple of major crashes. One from just modifying the music volume and the others walking around picking berries. I know its early access but coming from ASE with 1500 hours and not seeing a crash for over a year now it makes me shudder.

Seem like ark remaster 1.5 because it is half remastered and some of the graphic look the same as the first Ark. I see there is change, but not by much. i thought that maybe the graphic would of changed a lot more, but it didn't. Well let's hope that the optimize for FPS has changed for the better and that the commands for the dinos are better when controlling them and getting them to attack when given the order. Ark the first one had that problem and they still didn't fix it sadly.

Seems like they mainly just learned how to use Fog and Bloom effects to hide unloaded textures in the distance. I can see the improvements in some places but in some of these it just seem like they added fog.
Just wish I could enjoy this on a private server with friends now, without hosting through Nitrado.

This video really shows how much work they put into remastering this game. It's not just a graphical improvement. They fully reshaped map architecture for an incredibly more realistic feel. I'm quite impressed.
They actually did not reshape the map, but "just" strapped some new details on top of the old map data. IF they had reshaped, or rebuilt it, meshing wouldn't be a thing anymore. Still, the additions look good, if massively cluttered, especially in the caves. It still should be the free update, they promised on Twitter, not a 40$ + DLCs deal. Quite a lot of developers delivered the same amount of effort and more for free to their loyal and paying customers.
Great to know this isn't just a fresh coat of paint! Unlike the Halo Anniversary titles.

No one else seems to care its the same game. I've already spent like 6000 hours or more on these maps and stories. I'm probably waiting til new maps drop tbh. But it does look awesome.

They have to fix a lot of issues before releasing something else..... game is crashing every 3mins and dinos are turning around as in ark 1
Everything looks so much better, but does this mean you'd have to start from scratch all over again? I doubt all the mods, progress, saves, tames won't be able to carry over. Plus the listed price, seems like it's a lot to sacrifice just for the sake of better graphics.

TBH some of the shots from Evolved looked better because they weren't draped in fog.
Why so many trees like DAMN. I already knew what the after version was gonna look like before I saw it. MORE TREES. And why is every rock brown man. It just makes it look too overgrown, everything is earth coloured. Now I’m gonna be getting lost during the day because everything is just trees. Map should be called the forest not the island.

the steam forums are a cesspool of people who haven't even tried the game, only watched the trailer, and maybe a couple of videos... whinging about a mild graphic update and thinking there isn't much to it. there's some definite issues, it definitely feels not ready, because of those... but damn! they overhauled the graphics, which are amazing, the crafting, structures, added new resources, redid the map, and the UI. it's seriously been overhauled and feels like a different game, without looking on the map i have no idea where i am. the core remains the same, but it really is very, very different in a lot of ways... now if only they could stop the crashes disowning me from shit i've built... i'm still not actually playing, just checking things out with builds and such.
i build a lovely, and it did look really sweet, new home with wood and stone, great! then i summoned some green house windows, and was absolutely amazed... the lighting and shadows change when you add them in, try it builders, you'll LOVE it... and the sideways pillars! *happy dance*

Graphics in ASA look terrible. Look at that lava JPEG they used at 4:30. WTF. Forests in ASE look dark and foreboding. Forests in ASA look like carebear land. Trees don't blend as well in ASA. You can see through them too easily, which removes all the mystery that ASE had of a dense jungle or forest.
They changed all the rocks from grey to brown. Wow! That's worth $40 right there! What a change!
I guess all the younger kiddies love their Fortnight graphics in everything, they had to have it in ARK too.

Ngl the game is great, beautiful graphics and fun to play. However, still kind of disappointing to see Dinosaur AI hasnt really changed. Carnis still walk around aimlessly, attacking anything that enters a certain radius. Herbis just walk around aimlessly. Raptors dont even sneak up on you or anything. Idk. For a dinosaur game the dinosaurs a still very bland
