Hi Everyone, I hope you are all fit and well. I hope you like the video, feel free to leave any comments or questions below and I will get back to you. Best wishes - Lisa
Hey everyone! I received my 1st soap order from Lisa today! They are beautiful! Packaged perfectly ... they made it across the pond (UK to USA) in perfect shape! I encourage you all to buy some soap from her. She gives extremely helpful hints, insights etc. in every video she does. I'm a new soaper, or will be in a couple weeks when I start my first batch 😜 and it would cost a pretty penny to pay for classes that she gives free out of the goodness of her heart.💕 I really appreciate everything she shares with us. So go buy some soap! 👍😂
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment. I'm so pleased you love the soaps and that you were willing to buy from me even though you are in the US. I can't wait to hear about your soapy exploits with your lovely goat mild soap :-)
Lisa, your ingenuity is so refreshing. Many of the other videos of soap making are all the same. Then I come across your videos and they are so unique. Thank you for making such wonderful videos.
I love how you explain everything and remind us of things if we haven't seen other videos, and i appreciate all the tips and knowledge you give us, i really think your tutorials are super easy to understand and follow. Thank you ^_^
Hi Lisa, I love this idea of using an embed to do your column pour soap they look fantastic. Congratulations on your new store. It must be so frustrating when you make something so fabulous and because of rules in the UK you can't sell your works of art. You are such an inspiration, as you always seem to be making something that serves the purpose you need like your wooden apparatus to cut these soaps in a way that you desire. I always love it when I see you have a new video up to view. Stay safe and well.
AW, such a lovely comment, thank you so much that's really kind of you. Yes it can be frustrating with the selling when it's just something like changing one mica colour, thank you for taking the time to leave another comment for me, Tanya :-)
As usual, awesome video. I gleaned a lot from this one. After the cut, I thought how cool this design would be to emulate the aurora borealis with those fabulous neon colors.
Very nice, it’s really calming and romantic. I just bought moon embeds. I’m going to try this in the morning if not tonight. Thank you for sharing. Be safe, be well. Have an awesome day
ccongrats on getting your online store set up! I wish you good luck! The soap turned out nicely even if you couldn't see the "stars" at first, it will be a nice surprise for the user
Congratulations on your new shop. I'm so excited for you. Thank you for another incredible tutorial. I get so excited when I see there is a new one from you!
Very very cool idea to use the embed as the column. It totally solves the problem of muddiness. Such beautiful color choices! I'm so happy you got your shop open! Your successfulness is always increasing!!! Congratulations on all that you've accomplished, Lisa 💕 You are so awesome!
Thank you so much Shonna, you are always so supportive, ooh and yes the column embed, it's funny it seems so obvious when you do it, I've always hated that yucky bit, that's why I didn't tend to do them. Oooh do I remember right aren't your parents getting a new puppy?
Definitely going to have a try at this method , love using the embeds instead of a vase , bottle or whatever ! You’re such a clever cookie ....thanks for sharing 😀
Lisa, first of all CONGRATULATIONS on getting your shop up and running. I wish you lots and lots of success. Thank you for showing us this technique and sharing your knowledge with us. I love, love, love this soap. I didn't get what you said about not selling this soap thou. ❤️
Thank you so much Tania. I cannot sell this soap as in teh UK we have to have all of our soaps cosmetically assessed, once that happens you have an assessed recipe that you can use to sell. However that is fixed 100%, you cannot change a thing even the colours, so here I wanted to use 1 mica that was different to my assessed recipe, that means legally I cannot sell it, even though that mica is approved for use and I have it listed in one of my other assessment. The only way I could sell this soap is to pay for a cosmetic assessment to be done on it, which for a one off soap that I did for youtube it would be too costly and makes the bars too expensive to sell
@@IDreamInSoap I was thinking we should write a petition or something to the EC, because this has become ridiculous and unfair, as it has nothing to do with safety anymore. And then to think that your mica was approved of in another soap, that is simply absurd.
Wonderful technique Lisa! Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant ideas. Beautiful colour choices and love the music once again! Congrats on your store and soapy sales, wishing you all the very best, you deserve it. x
Lisa, your videos are so engaging. You should have a job on Playschool. Your voice is amazing. Any time I need soaping advice, I come to you first! 😁❤ THANK U.
Lisa, thanks for sharing your technique. I always learn something new from them. I appreciate the detail you provide and your soaps are all quite attractive.
Thank you for sharing your techniques and experience. Really enjoyed, and learned a few new ideas from this video. Your succinct style is very refreshing!
How wonderful news, Lisa! I am so happy, it must be a dream come true😀 So sure it will be a huge success. And another beautiful soap, all so well explained. Thank you again for your hard work with these videos and for being such an inspiration ❤️🙏🏼
What a great idea, using the embed as the column. I've been put off doing a column pour as the middle always looks yuk. I made a dancing funnel soap today, using your video as a guide, it came out great, many thanks 🤗 oh and congratulations on the web site, going to pop off and have a look now 😀
I've checked out your website and it looks great. Won't be buying unfortunately as the last thing we need in this household is soap 😂 it takes me two or three goes to perfect a design/recipe so we have lots of "mistake" soaps. But, it would be great, and probably very profitable for you, if you sold embed moulds on there. You said you had a 3D printer so things like a tree for example, would be great for people like me to buy 🤗
@@jackiehodgkinson7074 Hi Jackie, oh no worries, like me, the last thing I need to buy is soap. I am actually starting to make mould to sell, also other tools like scrapers and extruder discs. If you subscribe to the website you'll get updated when they're available - Best wishes xx
Hi April, thank you so much. Ooh I get so excited about all of them, I just love creating soaps. I often wake up in the night because I've had an idea in my sleep and I have been known to be 'stealth blending' that's stick blending but trying to do it quietly at about 3am in the morning. This weekend I am recreating one of my favourite soaps that I made before I started doing TH-cam, so I don't have a video of it, so I'm excited for that one :-)
HI Kasie, thank you so much. I do ship to Australia, but just checked my website and I haven't listed as a region (not sure why 0 it was a busy day when I worked out my shipping) The cost would be horrible, just checked my courier's prices and it would be a minimum of £52 which is about Aus $93 - eek!

That’s why you are the Teacher and we are your students. So very creative and practical. Love this embed idea. How deep are these soaps please? Congratulations on your Online Shop.
Hi Lisa. Yet another beautiful creation! I totally expected to see column embeds, but this is such a unique idea. Well, I've never seen it done this way. The soap looks beautiful. Question: Do you use AC at 1 dispersed tbsp PPO? If so do you get gray lather? The black in your soap is black not gray. I always get either grey bars, or black bars with grey lather. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers!
Thank you so much Gwen. I always make sure my soap goes though gel as I find you just cannot get black without it. I do get a very light grey colour lather, with the black in the soap, it's not bad and you only really notice it when the lather drops into the white sink or look pretty closely at the lather.
Lisa you don’t want to see my kitchen, now I’m making a cutter like yours, I was looking at a log splitter today, shall I shan’t I, well, once again I’m inspired, I’m making my own, I’ve got some nice bits of wood that came with the last three years Parma hams out the attic, I love my soap shelves, just one complaint, slow down hahaha you’ve got me in overdrive. ( I’m not normally up poking around the attic at 4am, it was a lightbulb moment) 😂
He , he that is brilliant. I just love the vision of you rummaging around in your attic at 4am, that is exactly the sort of thing you'd catch me doing :-)
I bought 2 bars of soap from the online shop, they smell gorgeous and were packaged really nicely. I got them as gifts for others so couldn’t unwrap them, but I’ll probably order some for myself later if the one I’d like comes back in stock! ETA - I’m curious about the acrylic block you use to plane the soaps! Is there a blade on it I can’t see or is it just the edge of the acrylic block you’re using?
ooh, how exciting, thank you so much for your purchase from me. I have recently remade Juicy fruits and Wishing on a Star, so they will be back in stock soon, not sure if these were either of yours. The planer has no blade it is just the acrylic, I love it, it is so east to clean and no nasty dangerous blade. I got it from an Etsy shop 'custom soap stamps' xxx
@@IDreamInSoap I was waiting to see if the tall and skinny honey bee one was going to be in stock, although I’d like to get Juicy Fruits, too. I got Wishing on a Star for my neighbour, for Christmas and the Curls one for my sister in law’s birthday 😊 thanks for your informative reply! I agree, being able to plane soaps without needing a blade sounds better!
Hi Jen, unfortunately I cannot sell this one as a simple colour change means it doesn't fit in with may precise assessed recipe, so legally I can't sell it I'm afraid :-(
Hi Carrie, thank you so much. I'm not really sure what you mean. In the UK we are not legally allowed to sell any soap unless you have that recipe, including all colours and fragranced assessed by a cosmetic chemist, once you have dome that you can not change a thing. For this soap I wanted slightly different colours that my formally assessed soap recipes and because of the change in one colour I am not legally allowed to sell them
I'm new to your channel. I really appreciate your talent as a artist. If you don't mind me asking how long have you been soaping? I plan on pouring a column moon soap tomorrow. Do you recommend a more soft oil batter to pour over the moon? Signed your biggest fan in USA!
Well hello, biggest fan :-) You do need to have a batter that will stay fluid, for me a lot of that is about how much you blend it (to emulsion only then stop, add in your colour and FO and then just leave it alone and stir every now and again until it just comes to the light trace, you should just see a very thin trail but it should disappear into the batter as soon as it touches it, if it leaves any pattern on top it's probably starting to get thicker than you really want.), your temperature, I'm about 80F for this type of pour and having a fragrance oil that you can trust to not accelerate. Having more liquid oils does tend to help, but I find it's better to keep an eye on your saturated : unsaturated fat ratio rather than just hard vs liquid oils, you will find it on the top right hand side when you view a recipe in Soapcalc (you probably know this, but just in case), Mine is 41:59 and that gives me a batter that will stay fluid for a long time.
Thank you for this. Just a question. Do you have to adjust the new lye solution for the new pouring batter on the embeds. I’m asking as the embeds are still quite fresh. Also for a rebatch with grated soap you dó have to adjust the recipe. Other then the oil weight is there anything that changes lye wise or is that non existent with larger embeds. Would be interesting to know what rules and regulations are for this in the UK as we have differences compared to the US. Less flexible in a way but also more safe I believe. Also is this aloud when selling? Thank you Lisa. Am following your soaps with great pleasure. ⭐️🔆⭐️
Thanks so much. I got the planer from a place called Custom Soap Stamps. I think I got it from Etsy, but just had a look and can't find them on there. But that's the name of the company that makes them, it's a great little planer
I'm getting a coping saw does the smallest blade string not good for soap cutting. Should i get a guitar string? What size guitar string and are they easy to change out?
If the saw actually has a metal string it may be ok, but it it's a tiny blade, like mine was I think would cause drag lines in the soap. The guitar string I use is 22 guage, mine changes out really easily, you just twist the end of the saw to release the blade then I put the string in and wrap round
@@IDreamInSoap thank you Lisa, I love how your soap came out, is a shame you couldn't sell it I think it would be popular, very one loves the moon soaps. 😍🌜

This soap is stunning. I would love to buy it. Are you planning on selling it in the future at all.
Hi Jen, unfortunately I cannot sell this one as a simple colour change means it doesn't fit in with may precise assessed recipe, so legally I can't sell it I'm afraid :-(
@@IDreamInSoap are you allowed to sell it if you use other colours ?
GORGEOUS!!
Hi Jane thank you so much for your very kind comment 😊
Hi lisa , itss a shame you couldnt sell those soap, but im sure with your skill you could ❤.
Hi Carrie, thank you so much. I'm not really sure what you mean. In the UK we are not legally allowed to sell any soap unless you have that recipe, including all colours and fragranced assessed by a cosmetic chemist, once you have dome that you can not change a thing. For this soap I wanted slightly different colours that my formally assessed soap recipes and because of the change in one colour I am not legally allowed to sell them
So could you make something like the moon soap , using your recipe, ?. X

Where did you buy your bevel tool please? I use a potato peeler but I often make uneven edges!
Hi Lynne I got it from an Etsy shop called 'custom soap stamps' Best wishes
What a wonderful idea! Thanks for explaining the hows and whys. May I ask where you got your beveller/planer?
Thanks so much. I got the planer from a place called Custom Soap Stamps. I think I got it from Etsy, but just had a look and can't find them on there. But that's the name of the company that makes them, it's a great little planer
Excellent! A usual...😘🤷♀️🥳💝💖💌💕💞🤷♀️😘
Ooh you must nearly be through them all, uh oh!!!
I think my phone is going to blow up from saving all Lisa's VIDEOS.. 😆
Oh no, I don't want to be responsible for explosions :-)
Hi lisa. May I ask where you got that wire cutter? Was this home made?
Hi again Michael, yes it was home made, so I can't give you a link I'm afraid
I'm getting a coping saw does the smallest blade string not good for soap cutting. Should i get a guitar string? What size guitar string and are they easy to change out?
So beautiful very cool it's ashame I would love to buy one of these..i hope u make it again for your store
If the saw actually has a metal string it may be ok, but it it's a tiny blade, like mine was I think would cause drag lines in the soap. The guitar string I use is 22 guage, mine changes out really easily, you just twist the end of the saw to release the blade then I put the string in and wrap round
I may well do, will have to choose one of my assessed recipes and colour combinations that would work
What was the size of the plumbers pipe you used to make the moon embed please.?
Hi Charmain it was 32mm diameter
@@IDreamInSoap thank you Lisa, I love how your soap came out, is a shame you couldn't sell it I think it would be popular, very one loves the moon soaps. 😍🌜
Since you can't sell this soap, do you use this for yourself and your family or give it away as gifts?
Hi Mansi, yes just from own use or friends and family
I think I must have missed where Lisa explains how to do the math for adding embeds.
Hey Leslie. I'm not sure I did it in this video, but I do go over it in detail in this video th-cam.com/video/0Ors-i_3trM/w-d-xo.html
