    I agree with your methods for airbrushing dry times. When using a rattle can I read the instructions. With time and experience we all tend to develop our own system

    Great video, glad you mentioned dehydrators. I use one as well, but I use acrylic paint so some of the cure times are a bit different. No matter what, your advice to not be in too much of a rush is the best we should follow. I appreciate Fundamental Fridays!!

    I have 3 of the Nesco dehydrators that I found at thrift stores. I figure one for bodies and another for warming paint. I got the third just for the extra rings. Plus having a spare never hurts.

    I've considered a dehydrator more than once, but more often than not I end up spending days or weeks between painting a body and needing to handle it again. So I instead just make sure it's safe from dust and damage and let it go. Like you said, no rush.

      An old metal kitchen cabinet would suit your purpose . They can be found at yard sales and second hand stores at a very good price .

      What did you thin it with? Lacquer thinner? Mineral Spirits? That matters. Lacquer thinner accelerates dry times. Mineral spirits slows it down.

    Have you tried using Bob Smith Industrie's (BSI brand, like the CA I have often seen in your videos) Super-Gold + for putting in windows? Several modelers locally have started using it as it does not fog the clear plastic and dries clear even If you goof and get a little where it is visible (which you have to look to see it.)
    Thanks for the great videos and information.

    • @ScaleModelTechniques

      I use the gold for window installation . I use his medium viscosity for all other phases of building .

    Great tip. I’m looking to get a dehydrator. Will thIs work the same with clear coats? I know you work with enamel paints. What’s you opinion on clear coats. That’s where I f@&k up my bodies. Take care 👊🤘👍

    • @ScaleModelTechniques
      @ScaleModelTechniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will ! Apply your clear coats in light , continuous , mist coats until you have an overall smoothness and shine ….

    Do use the dehydrator with your primer coats, or just finish coats, or both?

      Mike , I have never put a body in the dehydrator with the decals on it . However, I could see it happening as the heat would dry them out and cause them to flake off or crack ….
