I *love* the fact you just used what you had; a 50cc. It shows that you don't need money and an expensive bike or car to enjoy life. Thanks for sharing.

Why would you think that in the first place? Tens of thousands of people ride bicycles around the world.. a 50cc is a luxury compared to that.

Hello from Canada. I spend 7 months a year on my 50cc Yamaha scooter, going anywhere and everywhere. So much fun. I still use a paper map to plan my trips and take all secondary roads. I enjoyed your trip and story. For all of you out there, get yourself a 50cc scooter and change your life. You won’t regret it. Be safe.

While still living in the Philippines in the 1970s, I bought a tiny 50cc Honda Mini trail bike. I rode this bike for a few years not only around our congested city but even frequently rode it over rough roads to my favorite hideout about 25 kilometers away in a reservoir/dam. You can ride your scooter anywhere so prepare to explore the world. Good luck.

I ride a Shadow 125. Friends with bigger bikes have commented that when they ride out with me they ride slower. One has a large adventure bike another a racing style Honda 750.
They say that riding at between 30 to 50 mph allows them to see and smell the countryside and not arrive tired from concentrating on the road just in front of them. Besides, my bike is easier to handle on the narrow and winding country lanes where I live.

really enjoyed and appreciated your vlog... I found it extremely informative and very useful. I've held a full bike license since 1967 !!! a year ago I purchased a 500cc Yamaha, moving up from a 125 cc scooter. it was a mistake for me and I've now decided to go back to 125s or even a 110 cc . in the late 1950s my uncle and aunt went from London to Sydney on a Mobylette moped !!!! proof that there's nothing wrong with small engined vehicles.

Sceneries, roads, you enjoy each part of it. You taste it. No highways. My personal challenge is taking very small luggage on board. I try the "Toothbrush/pants/socks" challenge. Kudos for having done it on a 50cc! Greetings. (Slovenia seems to be so beautiful!)

A trip from mid western Germany to Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands. It all started with a bicycle road trip to China which extended much longer than planned. Now I'm working again to save money for the next big trip.

I've recently come back from a 750km ride on my Vespa LX50 2-Stroke to Zurich and back.
Every year I do a 3-day-roadtrip on this little scooter. It's a comfortable distance to do 200-250kms a day on a fifty
I own other and bigger bikes but I love travelling the slow way. It feels more relaxed, you have to slow down yourself and it is very fullfilling to me.
The Vespa is absolutely sturdy, went it's 20.000km and it runs 70km/h (I removed the reduction-ring from the variomatic) so you can go a little faster if you need to... but normally I do travelling by 50km/h which ist much more relaxing. The scooter runs on less than 3l/100km which makes travelling a bargain too. :). Overheating has never been a problem. These Scooters were built to run in warm climate conditions.
An advice from me: Don't let you push to the farest right side of the road. This is very risky, not only für picking up some glass as you mentioned, but also because this invites oncoming vehicles to overtake (as seen in your video) and it invites heavy-goods-vehicles to overtake from behind, pushing you to the edge. Even as you're going slow, you have a right to use the full extension of the road. Others may go faster ... when they can!!
Keep on travelling this way and thanks for the video. :)

Well done, I came across your account while wandering online Helpful tips and advice and proves if done sensibly, you can travel on small bikes in big journeys,

Yes, it is totally possible and OK. This time I treated my trip more as a "bike" trip, not so much a motor bike trip, because of weaker engine.

Very nice really ❤️ well done . You past in my area also, cividale but I live on the border with kobarid Slovenia 🇸🇮. I too traveled a lot with my Piaggio zip 50. Nothing really is impossible just as you say don’t rush. For medical reasons also I’m planning to use a 50cc easy simple and if you keep it good will take you to the moon. My compliments ❤️😊🏔

Regardless of the bike size slower always make the experience better. In the Central US a 50cc would be possible but I settled on a 150cc Vespa. Sometimes I catch myself hitting that throttle too hard....fortunately a few bugs in the face remind me how fast I am going. A few years ago my wife and I made the pilgrimage to Sturgis. Our Harley Electriglide was great for blasting across SD at 90mph but once we got there I wished we had the Vespa for the rides up into the foothills. Since the HD has a trailer hitch on it I thought about trailering our two scoots out there. That would have been a sight.
