I think that the rhinoshield past with flying colors. Your phone is still operational. Thanks for one of the REAL reviews!!! Now I'm going to subscribe.
Bee buying Rhinoshields since they first launched on Kickstarter. This was for myself & my wife. Since that first purchase, we've had the case & screen protectors for the iPhone 4s to the latest models & not had a single broken phone. These cases really are fantastic.
I love the feel of my naked iPhone 6 but after cracking my phone screen for the second time I was about to settle for the Spigen Tough Armor... then i found your channel. I really wanted a protection from front-face drops and I feel like the RhinoShield is the closest I'll get having really good protection without losing the phone design. I'm going to buy one. Awesome vid, thank you!
I'm about 5 feet 8, 5 feet 9, maybe 5 feet 10, pretty much 5 feet 11, close to 6 foot, maybe 6 foot 1, damn near 6 foot 2. This is a 12 ft, maybe 13 ft, actually, 14 ft drop
seems like that bumper did a pretty good job to me. I mean dropping an iPhone from 11.5 feet is clearly not recommended and the fact that it is such a minimalist case, and yet it survives what is fairly extreme mis-treatment is making me interested in the rhino shield. I use a Griffen Survivor which gives me great peace of mind. but I do find myself replacing it with the apple leather case, which provides very little drop protection, whenever I am going out and about simply because the survivor is so hard to get in and out of pockets. Thanks for your work Aaron.
Great torture test. Didn't think it would stop that 4x size metal ball. Only thing is both those 11' drops fell with the rear of the phone impacting first - not the glass side.
I cringe every time I watch you drop an iPhone while conducting your tests, but I really appreciate the fact that you making these review videos to help all of us make the right choices and save some $$! Thank you - and keep 'em coming, please!
This is the case I am using and I think it's decent. I get to show most of my phone and it protects as good as any other case. What I don't use is there screen protector, it just feels to thick but I do use a glass screen protector. O and I also use there back protector and have dropped the phone from about 6 feet multiple times and nothing has happened to my phone yet lol.
Absolutely NOT! if the iPhone itself is damaged at all, it Fails "in my Definition"! And Love your Video's I watch every single one! Thanks for your efforts!
I liked how you went from scientific to extreme real world and skipped the lower ft. Most falls do happen around 4-5 ft, like getting out of a chair or missing your pocket. I want to be able to just throw my phone off at the counter or wherever and know its gonna be fine. I've had the Sahara 7 on my iPhone 7 for a few weeks now and it's done okay, but the acrylic glass screen protector already has a hairline crack in the top corner. I ordered this case last night after seeing a guy beat it with a hammer, lol.
Does the RhinoShield screen protector feel like a temperated glass screen protector like the Zagg Glass screen protector or Spigen Glass screen protector?
I'd say it did it's job! I mean realistically any drop more than 10' you have to expect some damage. However, the Rhino screen protector is very impressive. What exactly did you mean by some fit and finish issues? Looking at getting the Tech 21 Tactical case which is similar to the Tech 21 you reviewed. Do you see any issue with that case interfering with the edges of the Rhino Shield? BTW it's awesome to finally find a product reviewer who actually uses products first! Well done Aaron!
Rico Kabahit I'm in the process of editing the review for the screen protector. In short, for the 6 version, it's edge to edge so if you don't install it properly, your iPhone gets exposed (slightly). In terms of finish, the 3H hardness doesn't do much as my screen protector is pretty scratched up.
I really watch most of your videos more than once I'm a case fanatic I by almost all cases that u review and give good ratings to that's why. Otter box revamped the otter box defender and the buttons are way easier than the first gen. I have the life proof nuud and I'm seriously considering this case and screen protectors. It seems like it's just the perfect slim bumper. Salute my friend salute I will be donating
MobileReviewsEh Out of curiosity do you do all your tests with new iPhones or do you sometimes reuse them? Would you reuse the dented phone? Also big fan your videos are of great help!
Just found your channel and I'm happily impressed with your methodology! Really helping me narrow down a case for wifey's 6 plus. Any chance you have an Ivyskin Renegade or a Logitech Protector Plus review in the wings?
We usually don't dorp our phone from that high. So for me it definitely passes!! BTW I just bought one yesterday,it's really awsome!! And thanks for your video too!!
I would say that is a pass on the case! I do have a question about the screen protector.. As to how it actually feels.. I am used to using glass protectors since the feel of plastic ones have been less than pleasant.. Could you comment on the actually feel of the protector? Not asking about responsiveness I assume that is good.. Thanks! Great review!
Im hoping they make one for the S6 edge... my buddy has his note four in one. And it tumbled down a 400ft rock face and the screen is perfectly fine. The edges have a few nics hand bumps... hopefully they'll incorporate a bumper that adds extra protection to the s6 edges curved screen.
How well would it protect against bending in your pocket? I have the Thule Atmos X3 (because of your great review video on it) right now. I feel as though the bumper / glass covers wouldn't give as much protection against bending as a solid case does.
Luke Erickson Hey we actually have a run over test video by a car, and the phone does not bent. It also helps a lot with the bending in your pocket! write to us if you want more information :)
Hi there, like your review!! just check with you, do you got any others screen protector similar with Rhino shield? As this Rhino Shield not fully cover for the Iphone 6s.....
Can you make a review for the lifeproof nuud for iphone 6? It just came out online. And i wanna buy but dont know if its gonna turn out like the lifeproof fre that broke on the top.
Have one on my s8+. dropped it on concrete from 4-5 feet. hit a corner and nothing happened to the very fragile S8+. I'm happy with results... too bad those screen protectors won't work on S8's curved screen
You should do a review of the Lifeproof fre gen 1/2/3 it looks awesome differences are there between the fre's this one has a little bit of a new design but hey why not
Hey Aaron, look at the camera bump on the 7 plus in relation to the new rhinoshield for the 7 plus. The camera lens comes right up to the edge of the bumper and looks like it would hit if it was dropped on the back of the phone. What is your take on this?
Hey i had a question about gorilla glass. Do you guys have any reviews on gorilla glass or have any idea what a good gorilla glass screen protector would be?
So, if I'm recording a gorgeous sunset on a cruise ship and accidentally drop my Galaxy off the side of the ship and into the ocean, will this case protect it from getting scratched?
Aaron, if you purchase a Rhino Shield crash guard does it include a bumper and a screen protector but leave the back of the phone bare? If so, could you use something as a clear protector for the back of the phone? I don't want my phone getting scratched in my purse. Thanks
From what I've observed, it is slightly less scratch resistant than most other screen protectors out there, but will absolutely take a full force impact where others would've failed and shattered to much less force. So the choice is really between looking pretty or protecting. For scratches, It'll handle keys in the pocket scenario, but maybe not falling on gravel ground. Others will do better, but won't ensure screen survival to great blunt force.
Thanks for the video, I have an iPhone 6 Plus, I have two different cases, my favorite is the iglaze armor plus, I also have the platinum case, they are both great. , I go hiking a lot that's when I use the platinum shock resistant only available at Sam's Club I Believe. I glaze looks way better but the plot iPhone case is much more rugged. I want to get bookcase you just described in this video. Thanks for the video helps me decide which items to buy
I just wished to see it drop face first though... that's a really good glass protector. Didn't have faith in them since my friend has a glass protector and shattered the glass and the iphone
Ac Macalinao The plastic screen protector will probably not shatter like the glass one does. This Rhinoshield is plastic so it will prevent the iPhone screen from shattering at heights where glass screen protectors will.
i say it passes for normal use. any of the new iphones of galaxys would shatter from a 2 foot drop. im sure this bumper would save your phone from normal drops.
Yes. I tried bending a 6s Plus using my hands and I couldn't do it. It only bent when I put it on my counter top and started putting my entire weight against the device. However, impacts (from a ball bearing) will leave dents in the device.
The newer generation of fre cause my old one broke and I am getting a newer one,its the newest one lifeproof released, it fits all of the mini's check it out.A few changes are there if you can do a review that would be awesome. Thanks for replying!:-)
How did that gorilla glass shatter? I thought it was at least held together with a coating or tempered. If that happened to a phone, you wouldn't see the usual spiderwebs, but rather the inside of the phone :D
I would call it a fail. According to my packaging for my 6: Shock Spread Technology, Absorbs Impact of 11.5 feet. And the back of the package states: Reinforced Corners. At that height, I would expect, no, demand zero damage to my phone. I don't care if the case gets damaged, but the phone should remain flawless.
+Derek Carboni Depends on the version. Cases that were made pre Sept 2015 may fall apart a little quicker. If you have a newer one, you should be good to go.
I dont think so otter box uses rubber and plastic to protect your phone this one is just a side case , But damn otterbox is very thick that is what i dont like so i am going to order this one.
For simple falls like probs only about 3 feet yeah the phone wouldent even bend or break but 11 feet is pushing it so if you don't drop it 11ft then your fine
Perhaps is you managed to drop the phone from 11.5 feet you would be lucky to only have some slight damage. Most is not nearly everyone else would not be so unlucky to drop there iPhone from such a height an on to the edge hitting concrete.
it is plastic, but it feels more like a glass screen protector than any plastic one I've ever used. fingerprint resistant coating on the top is really slick.
Don’t by this case! I’m writing this comment on a cracked screen and a damaged phone. And guess what? I’m using a rhino shield case. Customer service is a total drag. No phone number to call. Only a really lengthy email process that left me with nothing. Rhonoshield was more concerned with the damage to there own product than the phone there product was made to protect.
50 bucks to save your 1000 dollar phone, that seems like a good buy and even if there is superficial damage, well it's not critical damage like a broken screen of damaged display and the phone is still working. There is a new screen protector called CRYSTALUTION and it is nanotechnology with polymers and it forms like a polymer crystal over the screen and it has been tested with the diamond scratch test with a certain amount of newtons force and not even the hardest thing on earth can scratch the screen once it has been applied. I put it on my mothers and my phone and my mother has had her phone in her handbag with the car and house keys in there and not one scratch is on the phone months later. It lasts 1 year but in all likley hood, it won't protect your phone from a drop height as it is only meant to stop scratches. I'd like you to review this stuff and put it through its paces.
This may be your best video to date, Aaron. To the point, informative while entertaining, a couple of laughs and not too much fluff. Keep it up!
I think that the rhinoshield past with flying colors. Your phone is still operational. Thanks for one of the REAL reviews!!! Now I'm going to subscribe.

I'd say it did. I'd rather have a small bent corner instead of a completely shattered iPhone.
Agreed!
+MobileReviewsEh would the back screen protector be able to fit in other cases?
SxC KrYpT0nItE a shattered screen is cheaper to replace than a bent frame
Ross Bannon frame yes, small bent corner that doesn't impede it's performance, cost is 0$
you mean a shmashed device with a intact screen? lol!
Most phone/phone accessory videos are so cringy or boring. Why do I want to binge watch all of your videos now? 😂😂 so good!
Most people cook in the kitchen, not break glass with steel balls, But if you're in that, I guess 🤗😂
Fair enough.
Btw these are just jokes this is a great video.
I'm about 5 feet 8, 5 feet 9, maybe 5 feet 10, pretty much 5 feet 11, close to 6 foot, maybe 6 foot 1, damn near 6 foot 2. This is a 12 ft, maybe 13 ft, actually, 14 ft drop

Great torture test. Didn't think it would stop that 4x size metal ball.
Only thing is both those 11' drops fell with the rear of the phone impacting first - not the glass side.
I got this case from the kickstarter campaign, been looking forward to you review since I installed it and you didn't disappoint.
Have you dropped it from 25 ft yet?
I cringe every time I watch you drop an iPhone while conducting your tests, but I really appreciate the fact that you making these review videos to help all of us make the right choices and save some $$! Thank you - and keep 'em coming, please!
Passed, unless you have apple care, I can live with that scratch and bend.
This is the case I am using and I think it's decent. I get to show most of my phone and it protects as good as any other case. Someone was on a helicopter dropped their iPhone six with a case from 1500 feet. ... It lived
I love my rhinoshield! I don't think I'd ever drop it at 11 ft and with the small thin design, it's a win-win.
Sorry about spelling, just got off work , but I love technology and I'm just trying to let you know you're doing a good job
I liked how you went from scientific to extreme real world and skipped the lower ft. Most falls do happen around 4-5 ft, like getting out of a chair or missing your pocket. Still waiting for you to review the iPhone 6 catalyst case!
Was debating on getting this or the Amber crusta. Because Of you I just ordered this one. Great review and I will continue to support.
+reggie west :)
Does the RhinoShield screen protector feel like a temperated glass screen protector like the Zagg Glass screen protector or Spigen Glass screen protector?
It passes and in fact I bought one after watching your review, Aaron! You are best.

Not an iphone user. And yet I enjoyed this review a lot. Great simple humor too! :)
I will think about it . I am looking for new case. This tests are thorough

We usually don't dorp our phone from that high. So for me it definitely passes!!
BTW I just bought one yesterday,it's really awsome!! And thanks for your video too!!
Lol dorp
It definitely sold me on the bumper case and screen protector.
:)
should have just told us the results of the drop test anyways :P and I like how you wore safety glasses XD
I would say that is a pass on the case!
I do have a question about the screen protector.. As to how it actually feels.. I am used to using glass protectors since the feel of plastic ones have been less than pleasant.. Could you comment on the actually feel of the protector?

Hi! I want to buy this bumper and also the Cinder screen protector, does it fit? love your videos thanks!
Definitely passed. Phone still looks to be fully functional and the glass panel survived. Not the case's fault the iPhone is prone to bending :D

Can you make a review for the lifeproof nuud for iphone 6? It just came out online. And i wanna buy but dont know if its gonna turn out like the lifeproof fre that broke on the top.
I believe the iPhone 6s Plus might hold up better on the "bending" part since it is higher grade aluminum. ....Thoughts???
it does. The new 6s's are very hard to bend.
Thank you for your reply! Do you recommend putting on the back "plastic" protector they give with the bumper or does it not need it?
For how thin and small the case is it most definitely passed. The phone is still working which is the most important part!
I agree!
Have one on my s8+. dropped it on concrete from 4-5 feet. hit a corner and nothing happened to the very fragile S8+. I'm happy with results...
too bad those screen protectors won't work on S8's curved screen
i think it will be nice if the screen guard wider. Will it fit to spigen tough armor tech?
Great review! It's been really cold this week, eh? :p
It's been nippy...fingers took the brunt of it..should have worn gloves :)
I was going to buy a RhinoShield Crash Guard case but maybe I won't after this. Thanks!
No you should by it. It survived a 50 foot drop. Check apple pro, and he wasn't sponsored
You should do a review of the Lifeproof fre gen 1/2/3 it looks awesome differences are there between the fre's this one has a little bit of a new design but hey why not
We've done a review for the Fre...is this what you're looking for? th-cam.com/video/Ej3ieUw2z4A/w-d-xo.html
I just got this cases and love it thank you
Well, Seeing as it didn't crack... I say it did Pass with AMAZING Results I will be buying one!
You should do a review on the Xgear sapphire screen protector
Hey Aaron, look at the camera bump on the 7 plus in relation to the new rhinoshield for the 7 plus. The camera lens comes right up to the edge of the bumper and looks like it would hit if it was dropped on the back of the phone. What is your take on this?
is there a way from me to get a test used iphone? cant affored a new one and wouldnt mind dents... or do you keep them?
-Alex
Sure, I'd love to give you a free iPhone for no reason whatsoever.
MobileReviewsEh i didnt mean free but if your going to be a butt no thanks
is the back Protector good for protecting agains dents on the back when the phones dropped on a non Flat surface
+Musti Yzn Yes.
MobileReviewsEh thanks
Hey i had a question about gorilla glass. Do you guys have any reviews on gorilla glass or have any idea what a good gorilla glass screen protector would be?
Seems like a fail to me. The corner of phone was cracked at 6:23
Thx for the comment.
11 foot drop after being smashed by a metal ball and only the corner is cracked. Fail ? Yeah no, hardly a fail.
ur acting like an ass, did it say the phone would be immortal?
Madara Uchiha lmao
Can you please do a full review on the case?
jacklax88 You should look at the yahoo review if you want more :D
So, if I'm recording a gorgeous sunset on a cruise ship and accidentally drop my Galaxy off the side of the ship and into the ocean, will this case protect it from getting scratched?
When is the lifeproof case nude for iPhone 6 coming out??? PLS answer
Aaron, if you purchase a Rhino Shield crash guard does it include a bumper and a screen protector but leave the back of the phone bare? If so, could you use something as a clear protector for the back of the phone? I don't want my phone getting scratched in my purse. Thanks
For $50 bucks, you get the bumper and the front/back screen protector. For 25 bucks you get just the bumper.
MobileReviewsEh what if we just want the screen protector
Rhino Shield provides the best level of protection!
They're pretty great.
Can you either do the new spigen tough armor fx, or the caseology bumper case? Thanks
I'll put the on the list.
Is this the tempered glass one or the impact protector
Drop it on rough and rocky asphalt _without the case_ , seriously, if the screen can pass that test, *I'll buy a million of these*
Great torture test!
Thanks!
How scratch resistant is the rhino shield screen protector
Thanks for the video helps me decide which items to buy
ctell310 You should go for the Rhino Shield :P
im planing on buying the bumper and not the whole package (screen protector ect) do u think it still would last without the other components?
how well would the RhinoShield screen protector work under a lifeproof Nuud for the 5s? I'm thinking that would work very well.
No dont do it
i dont like those bulky cases
Wow how did you do that? You dont have thinning hair now and you seem buff now
I just wished to see it drop face first though... that's a really good glass protector. Didn't have faith in them since my friend has a glass protector and shattered the glass and the iphone
and She had a bumper with it and probably only dropped it 4ft... so seeing this is amazing
Ac Macalinao The plastic screen protector will probably not shatter like the glass one does. This Rhinoshield is plastic so it will prevent the iPhone screen from shattering at heights where glass screen protectors will.
Did you ordered the case online? Be cause i've seen other package
Does this screen protector fits with the tech21 classic shell case? MobileReviewsEh
i say it passes for normal use. any of the new iphones of galaxys would shatter from a 2 foot drop. im sure this bumper would save your phone from normal drops.
Is iPhone 6s tougher? Like won't bend and stuff as easily
Yes. I tried bending a 6s Plus using my hands and I couldn't do it. It only bent when I put it on my counter top and started putting my entire weight against the device. However, impacts (from a ball bearing) will leave dents in the device.
Drew Godsell try the 8 now!
my little sister bend my iphone and now i have Samsung and with Samsung, nothing happens , but on my old iphone, everytime it bends
The newer generation of fre cause my old one broke and I am getting a newer one,its the newest one lifeproof released, it fits all of the mini's check it out.A few changes are there if you can do a review that would be awesome. Thanks for replying!:-)
Your reaction when the rhino shield screen protector didn't break (the first test)
Are you going to review the bumper?
How did that gorilla glass shatter? I thought it was at least held together with a coating or tempered. If that happened to a phone, you wouldn't see the usual spiderwebs, but rather the inside of the phone :D
I think it was just a piece of tempered glass.
What is your camera glass name please? They have amazing quality *_*
So if I ordered the rhinoshield bumper crashguard I will also receive a screen protector?
If you paid 25 bucks...no. I think the package with the screen protector is close to 50.
Do they make anything similar to this for a Note 3?
I would call it a fail. According to my packaging for my 6: Shock Spread Technology, Absorbs Impact of 11.5 feet. And the back of the package states: Reinforced Corners. At that height, I would expect, no, demand zero damage to my phone. I don't care if the case gets damaged, but the phone should remain flawless.
The 6 has a weaker build aluminum than the 6s. The 6s won't bend. No fault of the bumper.
Catalyst?!?! Where are you!
It's getting on my iPhone tomorrow morning after I get a warranty iPhone after the Tech 21 fiasco.
In your opinion, what's the best waterproof case?
Do in bone wet suit
I haven't found one that I truly like. The Catalyst seems promising which I will review probably next week.
With which mobiles(on your right) did you captured the video ?
The best screen pertecter ever
Which case would you suggest Lifeproof or Rhino Shield
+Gavin O'Connor If you're going swimming, go with the LifeProof. For everything else, get the Rhinoshield.
Thanks so much!
Just bought this case....for 45 bucks...hopefully it's better than my otter box...I assume it will be..?
+Derek Carboni Depends on the version. Cases that were made pre Sept 2015 may fall apart a little quicker. If you have a newer one, you should be good to go.
Is the case any better then the otter box??
I dont think so otter box uses rubber and plastic to protect your phone this one is just a side case , But damn otterbox is very thick that is what i dont like so i am going to order this one.
For simple falls like probs only about 3 feet yeah the phone wouldent even bend or break but 11 feet is pushing it so if you don't drop it 11ft then your fine
Perhaps is you managed to drop the phone from 11.5 feet you would be lucky to only have some slight damage. Most is not nearly everyone else would not be so unlucky to drop there iPhone from such a height an on to the edge hitting concrete.
Is the rhino shield a plastic or glass protector?
did you ever find out??
no..its a lamborghini
Jessica Holder It's plastic.
it is plastic, but it feels more like a glass screen protector than any plastic one I've ever used. fingerprint resistant coating on the top is really slick.
Wow sorry!! for the repost of the same comment it kept coming up as an error...
Is the screen protector cleanable and reinstallable
+rian devera You can wash it and reinstall.
How did you break the device?
And I second the request of a video with the Lifeproof Nuud!
It lasts 1 year but in all likley hood, it won't protect your phone from a drop height as it is only meant to stop scratches. I'd like you to review this stuff and put it through its paces.
Is the iphone 6S plus stronger than regular iphone 6 plus?
+P Oscar Yes.
So is it worth it? Of course, does it protect your phone from a normal drop?
Yep.
What is the blue stuff around the phone??
I have the same case and it broke my iPhone 6 plus when I dropped it from 4 feet
