I like the song because it starts soft after it accelerates and it envelops you in a sad and heavy suffering. What few songs can do it. Cool
wow...I bought "The hollowing" back when it came out as a school boy and I was just blown away by it, especially Karyn's vocals. Too this day she is one of my favourite female metal vocalists. Nice to see her still at it!
Agreed, cool too they were a true multicultural band WITH a female vocalist. Way ahead of its time in all the possible ways.

the b&w footage reminds me of an obscure spanish horror flick called el monte de las brujas (the witches' mountain). worth checking out if you're into weird, hallucinatory foreign horror films.

The Ascent was a great way to close the album. Would really love to see a vid for Pillars! That was my 2nd favorite song off the album behind The Alchemist.
I agree with you,i have several Crisis albums (4 to be exact) and i just found this thru the song The Alchemist. Needless to say i was hooked & scooped up a copy yesterday. The album is like 1 big story but it's textured so well. Another instant favorite to my collection of music,glad i found this

+☺EliteMetalGirl☺ This album is literally at the pinnacle of what is possible to draw out of the tropes of metal. Not really sure what authority you're drawing on here to establish your 'feeling', but the album is quite simply an incredible piece of composition and performance. I'm not really into videos too much, but if your mind is open to travelling, you can get absolutely lost in the album. It deserves the still darkness treatment - prone, eyes closed, imagination at the ready.

I dont know if this music video or song is as good as "The Alchemist." I'm not sure if the lyrics or song structure makes that difference. I've seen worse music videos. I guess even big metal bands have laughable or low budget music videos, even Dimmu Borgir.

This song honestly just doesn't sound too great IMO, the guitar is so lackluster in the whole ambient doom sound and this vocalist, while she does have a potentially nice voice, just doesn't fit this genre.. I feel as if they tried a little too hard to portray the emotion they wanted to convey in this song.
It sounds like the drummer is just to bored to bother, other than that it was pretty good. Just suuuuuuuuuuuuuper slow, I really liked Karyn when it all got the harsher tone. But other than that it was really just a sleeping pill, the guitars although not that terrible sounds really boring along with the rest, especially the drums.
I dunno, not really my cup of tea :/
I honestly wanted to like this, but there was literally nothing redeeming about it. Vocals were bad, music was boring, and the song was monotonous. :(
