That's how I see the SP404 MK2 typically being used: as an FX machine-only next to another groovebox. Great sample choice btw. You're right that it would work well in almost any chop pattern.
Broooooooo nice one. As usual. I found a way to direct record from youtube into maschine. Its all about routing the signal internally with software called voicemeter. Works really really good
Push 3 was on loan from Ableton, so I had to send it back. But yeah, Maschine is quicker for me and I still use my Push 2 with Live but don't need a standalone. Glad you liked the vid!
loving the bass guitar addition, any tips for getting a good bass guitar groove going ? i am not guitar or keyboard player btw, sometimes i live jam on maschine jam strips to get basslines but always looking for more realistic basslines patterns etc . great video .
Thank you! I think a more percussive way to jam bass lines would be better - like on the pads instead of touch strips. You have to think like a drummer and make the bass rhythmic in a way that compliments the drums. This is the approach of funk music. I know, easier said than done. But honestly, I've just been messing on the keys for many many years and know a bit of music theory.
Thank you fam! The sample chops are not actually separated into different samples, so when I pitch it, it affects all slices. The pads just reference different parts of the sample and you play them in keyboard mode. This is the default way to chop samples in Maschine, I didn't to anything special.
And they are really good! However they can't be applied on the Master level, only on the Group level. I always use multiple Groups in my projects, so I can't apply them to the whole track.
I have another question if that's ok? When working with samples that already have some beats over them do you just HP filter the bottom end out before adding your owns drums? Or do you avoid samples with beats altogether?
I always high-pass them, this also frees up some space for the bass line. I don't avoid samples with drums. When they have drums, I try to chop on the main drum hits, so when I play the sample chops, the main drums usually come out synced to my project. But it's also trial and error. I'm always happy to answer any questions, we also have a questions channel on our Discord for this.
back again to this video , im trying to do similar sampling , but timing is out, did you time stretch sample ? or just use the pitch to get it in time , there are so many videos im confused some say use audio engine some say use sampler engine ? can you help me out, ive got the sample from vinyl, ive set the slice points, do i need to stretch ?
Not necessarily, it depends on the rhythm inside the sample. Sometimes you can make it work and create an interesting groove even if it's not perfectly in time (what I usually do). The "proper" way would be to trim the loop correctly and time stretch it. The audio module stretches it automatically but again - needs to be trimmed to an exact number of bars. Also you can't chop with the Audio module.
Appreciate you stopping by bro! I've set the SP as audio interface in Maschine software. That's it. And then the output of the SP goes into my main audio interface to record into OBS for the video.
Would it be worth it to still get a maschine or are they about to drop a new one? I dont want them to release one with MPE or soemthing then im outdated
I haven't heard anything about a new Maschine. NI usually announce products in September, so if they don't announce one soon there probably won't be one this year.
@@Th3Abyss It works on Mac as well, just use Chrome instead of Safari. Alternatively you can use BlackHole, I have a video about it here - th-cam.com/video/kVel6r8tgJ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WkCWuX8MHGMMu_96 The problem is that you can't set it up properly with Maschine because it doesn't allow you to use different audio devices for input and output. But in Ableton Live it works great and lets you record any system audio directly.
It's a beat making video and not a tutorial. But I hear you dude. I have a tutorial about chopping samples in Maschine from several years ago, this is a good reminder to make a new one.

Yeah, I rarely have the patience to make beats with the 404 tbh.
One thing about a low heat video your gonna leave inspired. Most Grooving Basslines on TH-cam ❤️❤️🇨🇦
Appreciate you brother!

Fantastic flip, dope vid as always!! 💯
Thanks Len!

Thanks! Yeah, good tip! I mostly work on my Mac and Voicemeeter isn't available on Mac OS but I might try it on my Windows PC.
Giving the Push 3 a break already? That's saying a lot. Great vid.

@@LowHeatBeats thanks for the tips i will use the pads and try and compliment the drums, its worth trying . those bass vst from scarbee are great .
brilliant as always. How did you pitch shift all the samples simultaneously at 1:45?

@@LowHeatBeats thanks for taking the time to explain this. Much appreciated
That was incredible, the best part was the bass, can you teach us how to the bass like that?
Much appreciated! Not quite sure how to explain this one tbh. But I can try to make a video with bass line tips.
@@LowHeatBeatsplease do. Your baseline was killer!
mk3 has sp404 type fx in automated preform mode...I just started using it...I may still get the 404 tho

How do you download music from yt ?
There are many ways but the one I use is the "Sample" extension for Chrome. It's easy and free.
@@LowHeatBeats god bless you bro thank you it worked for me I got a question tho does the maschine help you sample better ?
