There's a song I released back in the day that was a slew of VSynth custom sounds and audio manipulation through the Vsynth engine.. It is off my Liquid Zen - Oscilloscope album, Song was titled Zeitgeist, last track of the album, lots of v synth there! Also, on another of my albums.. Mosaico - Structure Destruction, song Pony (also last song).. synths were Vsynth and a classic Roland System 100m.. shameless plugs : )
Had one and used it for a while until I unexpectedly got a Juno 60 from a family friend. Don’t have much space, but if my Prophet X goes down hard, the V Synth will go back into service.
Really good, really deep, nothing else can sound like it, but you have to like that sound. Its ok as a virtual analog but that isn't its strength. Killer user interface. Definitely the flagship roland synth of its time.
It was probably 2 factors. 1st being the name.... V-synth kinda gave the wrong vibe, like telling you it's just the VST in the box (and it's not!). 2nd being the pricetag.... very not cheap and dangerously close to the top of the line workstations. Otherwise - one of a kind gem. Wish i had one! Thanks for showing it!
I totally agree.. V Synth does sound a bit dated and the price was high, but even when new, if you consider all the SYNTH you got for that price it was a bargain.
If this were a competition for fugliest synth of the 2000s, the V-Synth would certainly be the ugliest duckling of them all... For that reason alone I think it's the reason I avoided every playing around with one when it was in music shops.
Roland-- you are such an awesome musician with excellent presentation skills. This was a real pleasure to watch and hear !
I love my v synth. It's one of the only synths I've had since I bought it 2nd hand 11 years ago.
Absolutely wonderful to see this series come back. You are killing it man
Thanks! i LOVE this synth!

I loved mine. I only sold min when I got Omnisphere.
I got a Hydrasynth a few years ago, and it has the same feel as this thing
I waited for it! Thank you for this video! 👍🏻
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
One of my favourite synths, cold dead hands will part me from mine
The synth physical layout makes it easy to get around - similar to the way the ASM Hydrasynth does it
I've heard people saying "nice song, but Nirvana does it better"

This is one of the funnest synths ever. And the vocoder card is really good too.
Would have been nice to gear that card …
I live the V-synth, I didn't think anything of it until I got an XT. Now I wonder why people even care about the JP-80x0 anymore?
I have the v synth xt rack version. A bonus is together with my D550 I can have 2 x D50 sounds together. There's also the vocal processor.

Indeed! Amazing sound!

@@RolandPerez-p7i absolutely, one of a kind
It has the fattest low end I've ever heard on a Roland digital synth.
@@maccagrabme this
Don’t sleep on the GT version- it has the two pcmcia engines ( voice design and d50) built in. And then some.
Agreed the GT is a beast!
Skip the GT version, it has sync issues the other versions don't have. Really unfortunate. :(

The panel layout is fine, its the chassis and the display bezel that look off.
It did not. It is still expensive.
