Marty rocking the substitute teacher look.
Hey they probably did, Marty’s just hanging out with a guitar in his hands
he's got the wolfmother cut
He would be the best substitute teacher for a music class
I love that Dave closed out Woodstock with a song about putting a price on peace
He knew what he was doing lol the clever bastard
It’s even funnier to think the festival was marketed as peace love and music but in reality it was about price gouging, profits with third world country conditions for the attendees. Peace’s sells indeed
@@estebanleon8771 but who's buying?
I'd like to think that it was an intentional irony but most likely not. Though if asked, I'm 💯 % pos that Dave would claim that regardless
Marty just on a whole different level. . .
04:15 peace sells but hoawahwyahayagaja
I had the notion that his voice was terrible...now i confirm, it's a fact. But their music is excellent.
Dead! LOL
Sums up every vocalist who forgets a verse😂
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
His voice wasnt bad tho
Marty looking like he'd do anything to be in Japan at that point...
Godzilla boy.
clearly he doesn't look happy,
A filthy weeb
Man save tossed that guitar at the end, good job roadie.
.....I got the same feeling. Seemed like his mind was elsewhere. Maybe he was ready to check out?
For Gar R.I.P.
As well as RIP Nick Menza
R.I.P.
Josh Basanta drugs are bad......mmm kkk?
Gar era um mestre ...
@@annetteslife Nick Nick menza was the best thing ever happened to Megadeth
the fact that Megadeth is fueled by anger, hate for Lars and raw talent, makes this band super cool.
Megadeth was the reason I wanted a Jackson so bad in highschool
wdym
@@lucaswallo8127I couldn’t be the president of the united state?
I used to put a price on peas when I worked at a grocery store; other veggies too!
@Dios67 That's the funniest shit i've ever read in my fucking life. God bless you man.
IM CRYING LMAO
LOL!!!
peas are not veggies though
Oh God! Did you put a price on peas???
THAT'S RIGHT!!!
MUSIC!!!
Bassist looks like david ellefson
boi
Pasha Stroud i was being sarcastic LOL
Pasha Stroud ora ora temos um xeroque romes aqui
Russel Keith drummer looks like dean Ambrose from wwe like if you agree
Russel Keith that's because it is
2:02 : "Tell me something, it still we THE FUCKING PEOPLE RIGHT ?!!" Never seen Dave so angry while he's singing.
The director flipping in the shots of the fires going on in front of the other stage where the Chili Peppers were playing at the end of the song is brilliant.
Yes. It summed up that whole crazy evening perfectly!
“Marty with short hair doesn’t exist, he can’t hurt you”
Marty with short hair:
Marty was the best thing that ever happened to Megadeth !
And the Worst lol
For real, man?
Chris Poland is fucking underrated, you should listen his stuff, dope.
i like Poland but I think Marty was there best guitarist...1 Marty 2 Poland 3 Broderick
Nahh..Gar & Poland are the best thing happened to Megadeth
You're crazy! without Marty Megadeth isn't the same
Marty emulates the other Megadeth guitarists better than anyone, and is the most poorly represented by the others. He is so good.
Marty was the best, but Kiko is no slouch.
@@carlosmatos9848 agreed
Broderick I think replicated all the solos most faithful to the original material, his own lacked…
Cause he's the fucking goat!
Marty is ridiculously talented, very underestimated I think. His style is very broad and unique and his picking style is bizarre but so extremely accurate. His solos are not easy to duplicate, even by other talented players.
I'm happy to be born to this world just because I can enjoy Megadeth at its finest!
Who dressed Marty Friedman? He looks like an accountant.
josh huffman maybe Marty really is an accountant on the side? 😉
@@jemsar2 figures. Total overachiever
Dave is dressed like a yoga instructor....
This whole performance is pretty good though.
Nothing wrong with his finger-pickin'.
I like it though 😂
The way dave said “died” like he’s joking
George Kamil cringe felt 10hrs apart
Maybe he's so used to talking about death in his songs it doesn't have the same effect like other words do, idk I'm just guessing
Struka Peluka maybe cuz he’s seen death in life. He himself also fucking died
Muhammad Irsyazman I think it’s cause he’s a little high, just a guess.
Seemed like he didn’t give a shit
I love Megadeth. Peace Sells made me a metalhead.
Just stumbled upon this tonight. Still sad about Nicks passing.RIP Nick and Gar! 2 monsters behind the drums gone too soon.
"What do you mean I've hurt your feelings?
I didn't know you had any feelings..."
Best fucking lyric I've ever heard. Will save it for the future to use.
"A military inteligence
Two words combined that can't make sense"
The following is also good
"Whaddaya mean I’m not kind?! ...Just not _your_ kind!"
Buffed Dave doesn't exist, it can't hurt you:
Buffed Dave:
for sure the best live performance of peace sells that i've ever heard
RIP NICK MENZA
Antonio Adame that was Jimmy Degrasso
That's not Nick Menza, you idiot. That's Jimmy DeGrasso who was their drummer in "The World Needs A Hero" and "The System Has Failed".
R.i.p Lars Urich
@@arefmuhammad961 and Risk (and most part of the Cryptic Writings tour)
Aref Muhammad Vinnie Collaiuta played on The System Has Failed.
The thumbnail pic of Marty makes him look like a Guitar Center employee... "Hey Bro you want some strings with that?" 😂
Jacksons into Marshalls is the best thrash sound ever.
Agreed
Man... I can remember seeing this band in small venues. Like bars and stuff. I saw them playing at a bowling alley in Dallas a couple times too.
Don't get me wrong... It was a good size bowling alley.
But bands like Slayer,.. Pantera... Megadeth. They would light up those small intimate places, which was the best place to see them. And then everything happened. They said bye bye to Joes Garage and the Bronco Bowl and hit the stadiums.
Which was great for the bands, but for me, it was the end of an era. A totally friggen badass era that will never be matched. But an end nonetheless. It got considerably tougher to be able to lean against the stage while Dave is standing right in front of you... Screaming at you. Man it blew me away to see him play those knuckle snapping riffs while he sang his ass off the way he did. Thems were some good times, little fella. But they weren't easy. And it was uphill both ways.
once in a great while, these old dogs still like hittin up the small venues, just gotta pay attention and look for alternate band names, or see if theyre doin a rehearsal :)
Cock rock sucks
The last song to be ever performed at Woodstock to date!
I never realized Kenny G was in megadeth?
Yea, Marty himself said he was mistaken as Kenny G all the time lol
Didn't know kenny g could shred on guitar :)
Dafuq lol 😂
That's their accountant
AHAHAHAHAA!
Im a diehard Megadeth fan i never knew that they played at woodstock.
Maybe you're not so die hard after all
I love it! Marty is killing it with zero effort or emotion.
awesome. marty was amazing. so unique and talented. major asset.
And he played Chris Poland's solos so well. ;)
Probably the best set of woodstock 99
Dave seems like a pretty sensitive guy underneath all that metal.
Chris Paneesh Yeah, fragile ego and very emotional in general. Very strange and cool dude:)
Intelligent as fuck.
If this was Woodstock 1989 the place would of went f'n nuts
veritas1007 And if coach would have put me in, we would have went state. No doubt in my mind
If Reggie Ray wouldn't have had 5 concussions, Lance Harbor would have done unbelievable things at Florida State.

One of my all time favorites! Next to " In My Darkest Hour " and " Holy Wars" 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Imagine putting this on on New Year's Eve, that'd be a great way to start a new year.
Megadeth was part even of My Childhood I love Dave and Marty rules forever.
This guy's good, he should start a band.
They have already started. The band's name is Vic and the Rattleheads

Why is Zach De La Rocha playing guitar??
that's their accountant
Lol that's what i was thinking! But i think its marty Friedman
Coz he plays guitar!
Came here after the 2021 documentary on Woodstock '99 festival, man what a unique time when Nu Metal, Hip Hop, bubble gum Pop and post grunge reigned the American charts
When Dave vocal still powerfull. I dont like how they muted the crowd sounds though.. you could clearly see the whole crowd was clapping their hand during the intro but the sound was muted so you cant hear any sound.
Vic Rattlehead the audio is probably from the sound board
Well what do you want them to do, put a mic on everyone in the crowd? When bands record live performances, they just record all the mics/instruments going into the soundboard. It’s no wonder you can’t hear the audience, dude. They didn’t “mute” the crowd. 😑
@@ebwieg6800 nah some bands record the crowd as well, you can see it in some AC/DC live performances, they have mics pointing twoards the crowd lol
@@esau817 between the audience and AC/DC, I'd rather hear the audience!
Dave sounds like a dying old lady. Worst vocals in metal
kind of a funny song to play at woodstock huh
this
Maybe if all you associate it with is the chorus. The lyrics themselves are very much in the spirit of Woodstock IMO.
@@RazielXSR
Good point
Not Woodstock '99 🤣🤣🤣
Do you remember what _happened_ at Woodstock that year?
Mustaine sounds awesome in this performance!
My favorite Megadeth song 🤘
Quel voix c est magnifique 😍
Dave was RIPPED in 99, bro didn't played the guitar, he fucking smashed it!
So damn well-executed. Incredible.
"whaddya mean we can't get free haircuts at walmart? got nuthin' better to do"
This the time when nu metal dominated the airwaves. I'm glad it's over and Megadeth is stronger than ever
For me best Megadethsong ever
awesome sound
2:03 The "fucking" part sounds good.
Mustaine for president. It’s still we the FUCKING people right?
Dave is jacked here for some reason
I thought being jacked was Dave's way of life.:P
Idk about jacked lol
Marty's arms are jacked af
@George Kamil haha and who are you to judge? Arnold Schwarzenegger? No
so shut up Dave is jacked as hell and it's hot
Neonym not even close. You wanna see jacked? Glenn danzig
Peace be with you this song never die.
That was badass!
Megadeth always killed it. Sad to think they were performing with Rob Zombie and Disturbed playing a 2k arena in my area. I got those tickets for free from a radio station in 2011. and I'm glad I stayed for their 40 minute set.
I remember MTV not giving any attention to Megadeth at woodstock at all, and they were covering woodstock nonstop while it was going on. They were more interested in talking about Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock
Such a hardcore jam. RIP brotha
Damn near perfect performance
4:40 - Set the world afireeeee
Bob Ross Marty Friedman doesn't exist, he can't hurt you
Bob Ross Marty Friedman: 2:32
Saw this live, their awesome
BRAVO to the sound man!
I was 2 months old when they played this haha :D
haha I was 38 that year.
Jimmy killed it here .. awesome drummer
This is why TH-cam will never die
Man 21 years ago and I have been following Mega since it’s inception. Sorry about ur good friend ....we loose so many...one day we will all be playing that gr8 concert in the ✨ stars.
no matter wat dave say... about the new guitarist he finds... Marty was d one who took d band to another level with inventive solo's :3
You've got that right. There has never been, nor will there ever be, a Megadeth guitarist like Marty Friedman.
chris poland was amazing though
Yes, he was.:))
Mursheed Kamil Rashid that's true but Marty wanted to sell out
Marty was great but Chris Poland is my favorite. Kiko is awesome too.
The good ol riff when MTV news started.

Wish I could have been there 😭
This very well might be the best Megadeth lineup
Apparently Dave is the only one flying the thrash flag. The rest of the band look way out of place and friedman looks like hes in pearl jam
Who gives a fuck what they look like man it's about the music they play.
monstro's lung and plus this was 21 years ago. Who cares.
99’ was a strange period for metal. Especially thrash.
The irony being that Dave is the one who had actually ruined Megadeth by that time, being completely fixated on outperforming Metallica as a poppier act. Marty left because he felt you either go full pop, or full metal - Megadeth was none.
Dulko Rises actually, Marty himself has said that he encouraged Dave experiment with slower tempo ballads and more commercially accessible material as well as the heavier stuff. He was really inspired by X-Japan and the diversity within their music. He left because he wanted to experiment with broader genres, not because of Megadeth’s change.
Marty looks too nice for a metal band, he wanted to be pop according to dave
He wanted to do more of the classic rock and pop rock (which David and jimmy got behind) and Dave wanted to do more thrash
4:38 what a sight. How ironic it was. Just when dave said peace sells
we got jason newsted on bass, the substitute teacher on guitar, trent reznor on drums, & a junkie on vocals
Mustaine dressed like Eminem for some reason.
he stopped calling the shots a long time ago in 1999 in terms of clothing, by then he was following the trends despite keeping his long hair
These people aren’t practicing their social distancing. Who’s here in 2020 reminiscing of crowds?
I used to work this shit as a stagehand / rigger!
I developed PTSD from this shit fifteen years ago!
Can't be around more than twelve people at a time now!
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE POWER OF STUPID PEOPLE I. LARGE NUMBERS!
And now we have this shit going on?!?!?!?
Couldn't have been a more fitting song to close the show.
This is an awesome performance. So toight....
2:05 "the FUCKIN people right"
damn that was a good performance.
jeez the tone
A new way was delivered ... and those who stood in line were numbered.
Ahhh that time , everybody just enjoy the show, no cellphones recording videos, no instagram shit to brag, miss that time
Que loucura, que show. 😊😃😄😘👍👏👌✌
o mais ironico é que a musica que se chama peace sells( paz a venda) fechou um festival onde a paz foi colocada a venda por ganacia dos organizadores
