  • There's a lot of buzz surrounding the "no input" mixing technique and this is my crack at it... of course I gotta introduce tape into the mix...pun intended. Cassette tape delay of course. This previous sentence was strictly for SEO purposes...

I gotta say, I've been so down about making music for a good few years now. I've traded and bought so many grooveboxes and synths in that time, it's all been meh.. Then I saw Simon's video about the no input mixing and it just sparked this want to just explore sounds and I grabbed some pedals I had laying around, hook'em up. After many hours just having fun making noise and sounds, it brought me back to what got me into creating music. The want to explore sounds and coming across happy accidents that put a smile on my face. Loved the video and I'm glad other creators are following along and sharing their explorations.

thank you for sharing, and I'm glad to hear you're out of your rut. Creativity has ebbs and flows, so it can be difficult to navigate the uninspired times and we've all been there

I love it when my favorite music TH-camrs spontaneously "collaborate" over time and space on really cool ideas.
When you got the rhythmic thing going with the Slicer it sorta sounded like On The Run by Pink Floyd.

The tape is really gelling it all together, if this was digital i can imagine it would be super spikey and harsh. Love it.

8:28 Sounds like a great brush snare and mini clap or rim beat... Add a 909ish kick, 4/4, and it would have been a microhouse track.

@@MadeOnTape Nice! whereabouts? I've lived in suburban, and metro Detroit most of my life (50 years now) I began going to techno and electro events in the D, in about 1990. Did you go to parties here? I basically went to most big events all through the 1990's. I'm in Rochester Hills. (Went to high school in Rochester. A bunch of us in my area got really into making electronic music. I just never stopped. 😆)
