I spent most of my 20s doing this. 3 loopers usually. 2 mono and 1 stereo. Sometimes 4. Lots of mixer routing and feedback loops. Riding EQs to sculpt the noise.
im happy the algo brought me to your last three videos, because now i know what to do with my unused pedals finally and on top of that, i like your personnality :))
My mixer has two aux's, and I ALWAYS feed a bit of Hologram's Microcosm to Empress Effects Zoia, and vice versa. I create granular patches inside Zoia, intended to provoke Microcosm to go nuts, every time my other machines give them any audio content.....
It sounds like you're driving two space motorcycles at a time, if there was sound in space. (You have my permission to take my feedback and loop it if you like.)
Im fairly new to synthesis and stuff like that but is there any way you could use the feedback noise as a mod source or would the voltages not be right?
No idea! Good experiment to try tho. Might just be current coming out in the sound sorta speak so pulled down from being voltage with resistors and such
With audio rate modulation you get into AM (amplitude modulation) territory. it would make for really unique textures if used to modulate the volume output.
Great stuff, the start sounds like your boot up file, or other software, imported into Audacity as raw data. Welcome to the noise community. I own 40+ pedals, all cheap used crap or diy and I dont play a guitar.
So there is essentially no sample but a feedback being manipulated is how it sounds to me interesting for about one second of a song sounds like my car
we are slowly watching simon turn into a harsh noise wall musician 😂
Like a punk Hainbach!
The more the merrier
Way more organic sounding than merzbow. I like it.
and they he whips out the ukulele
I'm watching at full speed.
looping loops of feedback loops ... fun for the whole family. Love it.

I got your feedback right here, pal: I enjoy this, and hope you do more like these.
That's some excellent feedback.
That's some excellent feedback.
At 6:28 it reminds me of parts of some NIN songs, specifically the outro of "Memorabilia" and perhaps part of something from The Downward Spiral
Thanks for all the fun stuff to do lately! Been doing crazy things with a behringer 24 channel mixer.
Happy Birthday Neighbor!
I will make sure to tell him you said that😁😁😁

loving the madness
That stuff at 3:00 would be some haunting sounds to hear in a thriller or horror movie!
Very brave. I'd be scared that it becomes sentient and murders its creator
That ruled! Sinking into who you are is the best!
The uke makes it all come together i love this
This detour is beginning to look like an event horizon
I love this.
At the end of the last one my actual thought was "dang I gotta try that with a DL4."
Man, I rrrrreally need to hear you make a live dub track ❤️
What an ending, bravo!
Also pass my best wishes to Neighbour!
I did!
Feed back again and again
And happy birthday to Dakato!
If you put a CV from a sequencer into one of the mixer channels you can do some rhythmic stuff too
Excellent. I didn’t quite get how you set it up but I will watch it again.
When I grow up, I want to try something like that.
Me neither honestly, haha
@@SimonTheMagpie Just like me, I swear! I am already moving onto the next thing instead of figuring out what I did…
For best results: try something like this before growing up.
final follow up, send your loopers, to a looper (like me), to have them loop with. Love this series Simon, much love
This is very cool! Loving your feedback loop videos.
Been psyched for this ever since that guy suggested it in the comments of last video. Here. We. GO.
Dear Lord that Remco Sound FX machine through that setup would blast everyones ears
Happy Birthday neighbour 🙂
And cheers for the sounds.
Yes you did it😂👍the super dooper looper. Now you need to incorporating some of your pedals. 🤘
Simon you NEED to make a feedback loop syhth!)
My mixer has two aux's, and I ALWAYS feed a bit of Hologram's Microcosm to Empress Effects Zoia, and vice versa. I create granular patches inside Zoia, intended to provoke Microcosm to go nuts, every time my other machines give them any audio content.....
I was just wondering how to do this, now that I dipped my toe into no input sounds.
I was waiting the hole time for a hard four in the floor kick drum 😂
Yeah same in my mind kinda haha
Good job getting older, Dakato!
Awesome sound.
Try feedback a delay pedal and than into another delay/looper/mixer that feedbacks itself! Very good stuff
"Imdid a thing..." Yes, Simon, you did 😂 👏 👏 👏
Your thumbnails are always bonkers funny and I click every time 😂😂😂
things get eaven better, if you add some distortion and overdrive to the loops... maybe modulation too...
Pitch shifters and octavers and yes.. Lots of distortion!
Sounded really weirdly good
Simon the Merzpie :3
What an awesome video! Love it! Send our love to thy neighbor and bless his birthday with some mixer screams.
And that's basically Merzbow
@6:00 ish
For the full Meta... Tweak the playback speed on youtube ;)
♥
ps, that 2x speed Drum 'n Magpie was pretty awesome
Love this guy
So now, this crazy no input setup need an crazy input. Why not the slinky toy guitar space laser reverb ?
Beautiful
hell yeah simon. embrace the noise life
sounds like mad banshees screaming at the formula 1 race XD i love it XD
The jam at the end was starting to get relevant! I was starting to get it!
new genre apopcalypticore
When you first put the mixer in shot and started play with the slider...Rage against the machine-Revoler
That's crazy!!! 2:38
Thanks to you, I used my Numark DM 2050 mixer to loop it.🤣
I didn’t pay attention to how you routed everything, but yayyyyyy pedal based noise music
7:03 the intro to Passenger by Deftones
looks like it's time to dig up some of my old loopers
I started cackling at the title before even watching 😂
9:00 Stunts performed by actual artist.
Heheh
Can you do no input with your pedals?
Yeah will end with that I think 😁 for the video series this has turned into haha
This what youtube is made for!
The ukelele at the end 😂😂
It sounds like you're driving two space motorcycles at a time, if there was sound in space.
(You have my permission to take my feedback and loop it if you like.)
😂
It really could be a good transition or bridge of a song
Ah the Reggie Watts special
Wow so glad you're exploring N.I.M.B world..!
Thanks for sharing
this is like- radical robot dinosaur sounds

With audio rate modulation you get into AM (amplitude modulation) territory. it would make for really unique textures if used to modulate the volume output.
you probably need to go modular for that, or at least like a matrix synth
I wanna do this but im afraid of breaking my preamps or whatever
It's like you're trying to comunicate with aliens!! Space man, yeah............
Hell yeah
ahaha i love everything about this i want my own mixer nowww
Great stuff, the start sounds like your boot up file, or other software, imported into Audacity as raw data. Welcome to the noise community. I own 40+ pedals, all cheap used crap or diy and I dont play a guitar.
simon discovered Industrial in its original form
Reminds me of Metal Machine Music by Lou Reed. Except without the ostrich tuned guitars.. Nice! Yeah no beatbox. Ukulele twinkles at the end...
5:38 is what you hear as you're unjacked from the Matrix
Sorryyy... (in the voice of Animal from the muppets.) :D
Well I guess Mag is dead now. RIP. May Mag forever rest on the floor in peace.
if there is a method to your "madness", this is the sound that would come out!
Maybe we shouln't be looking for a method to madness. Maybe we should be looking for a madness to a method instead... Or something. :D
@@Elektronijaenis hahahahahahahahahah yeah :D
i m good with looking for BOTH and enjoying the search :D
you should loop your looper into your looper and loop that into a looper then loop that loop into a looper
dope vid
just sounds like nightmare fuel, like something from Silent Hill
opening the hell gate
So does this make you an inter-looper.?
Twiddle some knobs and you get something out of it. That's the whole summary
nice video
🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽✨
when did you get replaced with reggie watts? hehe 2 of my favorite loopers.
It’s the looper version of Reggie watts without Reggie. I love the dl4 but Always wanted a 45000.
Does this mean we're going to get a Magpie Matrise?! 🤞
Slenderman sound origins? :D
Basically the opposite of Hainbach 😂😂😂
I mean - horror game developers, throw some money in the face of this guy.
'Insane' is noise musician slang for 'shit' hahahaha
Would love to give you feedback, but I think you got plenty already….
Yeah...
cybernetics!
Very 70s Doctor Who
Yo dawg, i put looper in your looper so you can loop while you de loop
👌🤘😂🔥
That was fast.
