    I am so happy I found your lessons! My fiancé is from Zimbabwe and I am Latina and we have agreed to learn each others native language. I am learning Shona and he is learning Spanish. it should be interesting, but greetings from Texas! :) Please do more videos I am definitely following your lessons!

    I've been learning shona for the past months on my own through exchange programs, I went to zim in January and it was useful and now i'm planning to go back and to be more fluent and your videos will definitely help. I'm from Mauritius and my boyfriend is Zimbabwean. Mazvita shamwari for your batsira :)

    I’m from congo rdc, my tribut is havu, I can say Shona and havu is like same. Muliro is fire in havu? Murume or mulume is a man too.

    How closely related is Swati with Shona? I realised that some words are not so expressive of "h" where it should be in Zulu, but in Shona the "h" is there, not as visible; but expressive in vowel sense as in Swati; I am loving these vowel lessons as I am Swati as well

      Mangwanani is" Good morning", MAMUKA SEI is two words which translate to "How well did you wake up" . There is no English equivalents literally. The next best equivalents is would be "how are you". " How are you" literally would be "muri sei" which is not conventional shona but has been added to shona colloquial or slang to make a direct or literal translation for "How are you". Muri sei - is not something you would here someone in their 70's coz they never used such phrases when they were younger. Its a fairly young phrase. People maybe who are 50 and younger use this, and more commonly in urban setting. Hope i'm making sense to you

      you are right "Mangwanani (then the response), mamuka sei (response" - that's more common way exchanging morning greetings

      Actually its sooo very different they take greetings to a different level. Much more respectfull than the plain english greetings
