I was trying to decide between the Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma and for me the Honda Ridgeline is the most practical truck for my needs. So now I’m picking up my 2024 Honda Ridgeline Trailsport on Thursday.
Best ridgeline review i have seen. I will subscribe. I just got my 2024 trailsport and i love it. Its the right price, and 90 pecent of americans dont haul over 5,000 pound on a daily basis or need to go rock climbing on the weekend. This is the perfect truck for someone who needs a bed to do stuff but also wants a comfortable ride. If you need a real work horse then you shouldnt be looking at a midsize truck in my opinion. My only zonk is i wish they lifted the trailsport by 1in
I agree. This truck is awesome. I can fit my kids in the back. Not break the bank account (compared to a F-150) and I can still haul stuff if I wanted too
@@tl2135 It's the HRG lift kit. 1.5" spacer in the front and 1" in the back. Kit is $350 and my mechanic charged around $700 to install. Tires are 265/60/18 (HANKOOK DYNAPRO AT2 XTREME) which are 1" larger than the stock tires which gives me .5" of clearance by itself. Looks really good with the lift and beefier tires. I can't say enough good things about the tires as well. They're amazing in the snow and ice and so quiet for an all-terrain!
Exactly what you said, "Meant to do different things"... I went with the ridgeline. So comfy and so much space... It's a NART! Already went overlanding, handled it self pretty good!
Definitely the ridgeline for me. The most I do is go kayaking and take garbage to the dump. But the most important thing for me is that naturally aspirated v6 engine.
Both the Tacoma and Ridgeline are exceptional examples of the mid-size truck market. Great review! BTW, I really appreciate you pointing out the real world payload differences between most Ridgelines and most Tacomas. Most Ridgelines will have better payload than most Tacomas. Given that many trucks will run out of payload before they run out of tow capacity, I think the Ridgeline may be a better option for me to tow our 2,900 lb camper and all of our camping gear in the bed and rear seat area. Thanks!
Black Edition should include ACC with stop and go, 360cam or at least a front trail cam, center front parking sensors, passenger seat height adjustment, hill descent control... hopefully when they redo the ridgeline they include these.. also it should have over 8 inches of ground clearance and the cargo bed should be at least 20 inches deep...and get us another inch or two in rear seat leg room. all this would make the Ridgeline a perfect vehicle.
Each truck has its own demographic that they go for and that buy them.. I looked at the Toyota Tacoma and the back seat was not as comfortable or roomy and the truck was not as comfortable while driving it.. and I don't care about climbing over boulders or driving through 4 ft deep mud pits. 90% of these people that buy the look at me trucks never use them for what they were designed like going off-road or whatever they just drive them to work... Honda Ridgeline all the way standard V6 rides better and all-wheel drive
Why do all you reviewers think we want to hear your extended review ever visual detail of the body? We can see the grill. We can see the head lamps. We can see the side mirrors. Etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,...Good grief, we don't need you to point out the obvious. What a waste of time.
Great review of the Honda trailsport by a very very knowledgeable reviewer. Very detailed and comprehensive.

Good choice. Congratulations!
Thank you for pointing out the interior door handles. I always wondered what those things were.
Anytime 🤣 i should focus more on the turn signal as it seems most dont know what they are.
@@MattTheCarguy And that's not just on Hondas!

Thanks! I think its a great truck. Very underrated by many.
Bought my 2024 Trailsport 3 weeks ago. Awesome truck. Ridgeline for. Me.
Congratulations! Great truck!

Ridgeline Black Edition is the best value in mid-size trucks.
I like the Trailsport myself but Black edition is nice as well.
I have a 2021 sport and added a 2" lift and larger tires which gives me about 9.5" of ground clearance. Excellent truck!
That must look good!
Which lift did you get and how much did it cost plus installation?

Completly over the look of the new tacoma
Went with ridgeline trailsport 👍
Congrats!!

That engine is smooth!
Yeah, I think that 4 cylinder turbo will turn alot of people off to the Tacoma
@@bruceleeroy8302 based on the comments I received on my Tacoma videos it seems like that
Small houses or cyber trucks at 0:21
Tesla commercial? Not up to me
Love honda brand. Maybe not the fanciest cars but very reliable
I have one myself
Great vehicles!
Very well done!
Thank you very much!
29:02 ordered 2024 black edition last week
Congrats!!

Thank you for watching! You are right! Both great trucks, just depends which you like better.
Buy a 2024 Ridgeline or 2024 4Runner (last year of their V6)??
Id say drive both and decide. Might be hard to find new Tacoma V6
@MattTheCarguy I've out grown the Tacoma phase. The Ridgeline drives way more smoother.
Maybe soon, I will be able to buy this truck.
This one as well!? I hope you will.

I would love to see all these features!
Welcome to the 1 millionth demonstration of the Ridgeline tailgate.
You really like to waste your time if watch a million of them 🤣. Did you also make sure to leave a million comments?
And still no one else has copied the ingenious design.
Can you get Ridgeline Trailsport with the HPD edition?
There are 2 HPD packages available with wheels, flares and decals.
I think Ridgeline is way better than Tacoma on everything for me
Depending on what you need it for. Ridgeline beats Tacoma in just about every category. Maybe with exception of off road capability?
@@MattTheCarguy ridgeline fails at truck bro approval
@@edraderi dont really care about that, but if they Honda made Ridgeline look a bit tougher it would be a real winner.

Re: back seat legroom “Front seat adjusted for my height” is a meaningless statement, unfortunately, unless we know how tall you are.
Im 5'11

Sounds like you wasted quite some time writing this comment.
TURBO ENGINGES I don't like on Toyota too much up keep and problems.
I prefer naturally aspirated v6 as well.
Tacoma is too basic. It's the truck for newbies. People need to look at better options than playing it safe...get out of their Taco shell.
What would be your choice?
Good time to buy a used Tundra while everyone is paying 50k+ for Tacomas and Ridgelines haha.
This will be a great buy in 7-10 years for sure.
You can buy a new Tundra for 50k.
@@MattTheCarguy I daily a 2016 DCLB Tundra. Would still have my 2006 DC if a drunk hadn’t stolen and crashed it!
